Chances are you're right- I assume it will include download sales and streaming so it should look quite interesting to see what is shifting under the radar.

Thanks for this Gezza! My guess for the top 5:
1. Wonderwall 2. Don’t Look Back In Anger 3. Country House 4. Common People 5. Bittersweet Symphony 3-5 are guess work as I have no idea on sales! |

I guess it all depends on how they did on downloads, and of course whether they use the higher or lower sales for the 94-96 period which will make a big difference, and what they consider "Britpop"....so many variables

I know what I consider Britpop, be prepared for the odd rant if they stretch it beyond 1997!

Personally I'd consider it indie from 1993 to 1998 (maybe the first Suede album plus "Modern Life Is Rubbish" until maybe the first Embrace album)

I think Edwyn Collins could be quite high up. Plus Babybird and Chumbawamba?

interesting to see what they consider britpop
are Radiohead britpop? Skunk Anansie? guess Cranberries won't, unless they are on some of the best of Britpop CDs I have |

yes me too but some Radiohead fans get offended at the mention of Radiohead being Britpop
but weren't many Irish bands considered Britpop too? like Divine Comedy, that's a quitnessential Britpop to me |

Oasis will obviously dominate - the question is by how much. I think Whatever will be the surprise high achiever in this chart
