BuzzJack Music Forum _ UK Charts _ Who will be the 2020 Christmas #1?

Posted by: M4ngo Ho Ho Dec 13 2020, 09:55 PM

Now that Ladbaby has finally announced his attempt at this year's Christmas #1, 'Don't Stop Me Eatin' (a cover of Don't Stop Believing) - will he make it three in a row? Or is Mariah unstoppable now that she's made history? Or will it be neither?

Posted by: Michael Bubré Dec 13 2020, 09:58 PM

It'll be LadBaby obviously.

Want literally anything other than the given options x

Posted by: JosephCarey Dec 13 2020, 09:58 PM

LadBaby will surely get it, but obviously I'm hoping for Mariah!

Posted by: dancemberlexa Dec 13 2020, 09:59 PM

LadBaby are 100% going to #1, and they could even get their biggest first week sales total yet.
Would prefer it to be Mariah but at least she's got her #1 peak even if it won't be Christmas #1.

Posted by: Christmasteve201 Dec 13 2020, 10:51 PM

Ladbaby will be number one, wish it was Mariah!

Posted by: Rob S Claus Dec 13 2020, 10:55 PM

100% but I REALLY hope this is the last time he tries. We could do without him becoming the new X Factor of Christmas #1's

Also voted for Mariah in who I want out of those choices.

Mariahs had her moment , Ladbaby come through please

Posted by: Maestro Dec 13 2020, 11:08 PM

LadBaby is absolutely gonna get it. Can see him doing 100k+ (Would be the first #1 to do so since I Don’t Care if he does I believe)

For reference, what sales did he do last year and what did the two charity #1’s this year do?

Posted by: elf Dec 13 2020, 11:18 PM

Mariah will still be #1 for most of Christmas Day itself so I'll take that.

Posted by: Better Man Dec 13 2020, 11:23 PM

My vote is always for Wham!
But my bet is on Ladbaby.

Posted by: Mack'sXmasSack Dec 13 2020, 11:28 PM

I'll be LadBaby for the Xmas #1.

Literally anything else for the #1 for me. Glad Mariah finally got that #1 at last, would be great if she could do it or even Wham!.

It implies in his announcement video that this will be the last time.

Bieber.

Can’t decide between Bieber and LadBaby

Posted by: davidas Dec 14 2020, 09:36 AM

it will likely be LadBaby sick2.gif but i'd love for Wham to get it.

The cover is a parody of Queen's bo rhap video with the four family members in a circle etc, so I assumed it was a cover of Don't Stop Me Now?

I feel like Justin Bieber might actually give Ladbaby some competition? I mean it's for the NHS and all.

Or alternatively, I'm just not knowledgeable about these things.

I assumed that to at the start.

He said last time that it'd be the last time tongue.gif

But I THINK & WANT LadBaby this year, and every year after for that matter.

He seems savvy enough to realise that 3 years in a row is enough and that people would quickly turn against him if he tried to keep it going beyond that.

I like Ladbaby, but I hope he ends his reign of Christmas #1 this year. I don’t want him to be the new X Factor winners.

Posted by: AcerBen Dec 14 2020, 02:06 PM

Though if he did manage 4, they'd hold the record outright? But I believe them when they say it'll be the last one

Posted by: Dobby Helms Dec 14 2020, 03:11 PM

No he'd equal the Beatles. So hopefully he goes for 5 thumbup.gif

I don't think so tbh, his fanbase is only growing every year - most people don't keep up with who's #1 every year either

Ladbaby for both. Bit of fun for Christmas.

4 in a row would be the 'in a row' record but 4 in total would not be a 'in total' record. The Beatles were xmas number one in 1963-65 and 1967, and it looks like they weren't even in the race in 1966.

Probably LadBaby on sales of about 70,000. I would like Mariah to be number 1 though. Wham! to be number 2 as I would like 'Last Christmas' to remain the biggest selling single to not reach number 1.

Posted by: FestiveOdyssey Dec 14 2020, 10:09 PM

Something a bit different, a campaign for #1 the week after Christmas! Seems to have some decent support behind it as well

If Mariah had Xmas days sales in the Xmas chart week she could do 80k but the split week will mean she will likely do 60-70k!

Mariah X2.
