Are they snubbing The Boss Baby? This looks like a load of fun so I'm kinda hyped Oh no, woops! That's there too but I forgot as it's already having previews all week due to the holidays so it feels like it almost belongs to last week! I'll probably wait til next week though and do a double bill of this and The Boss Baby when I have a free day I am a little buzzed for this as it has the same writer as Hidden Figures !! |

I did quite enjoy this, I didn't really laugh out loud once but it got a couple of smirks from me and the three leads had some fantastic chemistry (I know they're all old and acting is perhaps not their main focus in life anymore but crazy that three Oscar winners are doing stuff like this now ). Alan Arkin is probably the one I'd pick out as the highlight for me despite being least impressed by his previous work of the three, he had some great reactions

Oh I laughed out loud at least once, when Morgan Freeman joked that the FBI were bringing him a kidney.
I'd say Michael Caine was my highlight. Very charming and uplifting, plenty of laughs to be had, I don't get what the mixed/negative reviews are about, I liked what I saw in the trailer and it met my expectations. All the characters were very likeable which made it an easy watch from start to finish, I loved the opening bank robbery scene and the shoplifting of the supermarket was another stand-out. |

I'd been looking forward to this one since I first saw a trailer for it a few months back. Thankfully, I wasn't disappointed. I really liked the portrayal of the three main characters and my favourite part was the little girl who wouldn't reveal Freeman's identity to the authorities.
Certainly a thought-provoking film and a reminder about who the real criminals are in this world IMO. |
