To quote myself, Poli Genova is the most significant rumour to participate for Bulgaria in 2016 and she is obviously very in favour with BNT after her hosting of Junior Eurovision:
Well it turns out it was Bosnia after all! However Bulgaria have backtracked today with someone at their broadcaster saying a 2016 return is not ruled out, and their official twitter account teasing that Kaliopi may not be the only returning artist. This links with all the previous rumours that if Bulgaria were to enter, then Poli Genova would be their representative - something which she basically gave away in this interview. I'd love Bulgaria to come back as I adore Poli and I loved Na Inat! |

'Na Inat' is my favourite Bulgarian entry, I think - they have a LOT of gems for a flop country - so if to be true I'll be very happy.

Apparently BNT have a shortlist of 3 artists, Preslava, Poli Genova and the winner of the latest season of X Factor Bulgaria which will finish in the next few days I think.
Of course I'd love Poli, lots of Eurovision fans are very excited by the prospect of Preslava though although I haven't listened to any of her songs yet. |

Preslava released her first English-language single yesterday and it was rumoured that if the song got a good reaction following its release it would become the Bulgarian Eurovision entry. Preslava apparently stated that this song was written "with Eurovision in mind":
However, the reaction to the song has been overwhelmingly negative on fan forums, quite deservedly so in my opinion, and BNT have now tweeted they will only be able to make an announcement "when they have a song". JUST BRING BACK POLI!! |

Rumours by a Bulgarian member on ESC Forum are now saying the following:
QUOTE Apparently the song will be pop with jazzy elements. Аn international team has been hired for the staging and TV production. The song is not Bulgarian as well. QUOTE Missed to say that the song will be presented on 10th of March or something like that. As s whole it has been described as a song with retro vibe and very different than what we've sent to the contest in the past. It's fully in English. QUOTE The name is not something shocking, but they want to keep it until the song has been released. I can see Poli singing a pop-jazz song more than Preslava, but we can't rule out the supposed 3rd contender Christiana Loizou from Cyprus who won X Factor Bulgaria. |

I mean, at least they're the good ones. Poli really deserves another slot, Na Inat missing out on the final in that weak-ass 2011 contest is one of the worst injustices I can think of.

Apparently this is going to be a retro-style song in English, composed by the team behind...
and more recently this... It'd make sense as to why the Bulgarian head of broadcaster turned up on the Maltese jury last month, they do seem to be best friends! |

naw "retro", "pop-jazz"...
Can't we use 'Na Inat' again? That song deserves some recognition. |

Yeah Eurovision Bulgaria's official Twitter have hinted that the information came from a mistranslation, they say the song will be presented close to the deadline.

Bulgaria have basically been teasing all of the eurofan community since November and in their latest move, we have the lyrics to the song that will be dropping in the next 24 hours...
QUOTE You and I we collide Like the stars on the summer night We can shine forever And you and I we’re alive What we feel is what is right We can run like never If love was a crime, then we would be criminals Locked up for life But I’ll do the time If love was a crime Then we would work miracles High above the ground Day mi lyubovta (Give me the love) 3x They will never break us down Day mi lyubovta (Give me the love) 3x They will never break us down Never mind Wrong or right Our love ain’t got no pride So we change for better Unafraid Never fade When it’s dark we illuminate Can we rise together If love was a crime, then we would be criminals Locked up for life But I’ll do the time If love was a crime Then we would work miracles High above the ground Day mi lyubovta (Give me the love) 3x They will never break us down Day mi lyubovta (Give me the love) 3x They will never break us down Together we’re untouchable You and me against the world Together we’re invincible Together we’re untouchable You and me against the world Together we’re invincible They will never break us down As I suspected, it's basically a balkan gay-anthem eurovision song. I've got high hopes for this one! |
