Simple question! Which streaming services do you use? Do you use more than one? How long have you had them?

What made you choose the streaming service(s) you use?

In terms of paid services, I only use Netflix! I think I've had it for about two years now, I was a bit late to the game but I'm trying to catch up! laugh.gif

I chose it because it is obviously the biggest paid-for streaming service in the UK and had a wide range of original programming that I was really interested in! It is the original shows that I actually largely use Netflix for! They do have a great range of other shows on there and it's allowed me to catch up on classic comedy shows such as The Thick of It and Arrested Development!

As I've said before, nothing on Amazon really appeals to me aside from maybe The Man in the High Castle. They do also have 11/22/63 but I bought that cheap on DVD as I loved the book so much. I did have access to it when I had a 6 month free Amazon Student trial but I rarely used it, I remember that they didn't even have full series on it which was a bit shit!

I obviously also have access to iPlayer, ITV Player, All 4 etc. I mainly use iPlayer and All 4 from the free TV services as they're the two channels I mainly watch stuff from. All 4 have a great range of box sets which is a great idea and one I might have explored more if I didn't have to sit through adverts kink.gif

Netflix occupies most of my TV viewing time! This past month alone I've been watching Riverdale, The Good Place, Big Mouth, American Vandal and Stranger Things. "My List" is so full of shows I'm interested to see, but haven't got around to yet!

I have access to Amazon due to being a Prime member, but I haven't tried out any of their shows yet. I'm not sure there's anything on there which looks like it'll grab me enough to "jump the queue" ahead of my backlog of shows to watch on Netflix.

I won a 2 month free trial to Now TV via the Snatch app, but I'm pretty certain I'll only be using it to watch The Walking Dead. Although apparently they'll be making Big Little Lies available again from Boxing Day, so I'll endeavour to watch that.

i've been a netflix member since like 2015 but i only decided to actually start paying for it after my second trial earlier this year (their retargeting campaign worked its magic). and i couldn't be happier. even though netflix russia can provide you with a more narrow selection of shows rather than netflix uk or netflix us (the latter has like everything and i'm jealous) it still trumps any torrents and whatnot because it's soooo much easier. and i actually have a 2-person subscription so my boyfriend also uses it. he never pays his half though :')

Netflix all the way, I have access to amazon instant video too due to being a prime member but barely ever use that, although I did use it to watch Preacher, but the Netflix originals like Daredevil and Sense8 (sad.gif) and Black Mirror make it totally worth it tbh, nothing else even rivals Netflix for me tbh, I don’t see any reason to switch to a different streaming service any time soon

team netflix! i can't remember when i got it but the original content is what has kept me not that i even pay for it, i'm still siphoning off the family account

i also have access to amazon prime (which i also don't pay for because my brother lets me use his account :')) but other than man in the high castle, parks and rec or the occasional film i don't really go back to it much, i don't find it as easy to use as netflix tbh so i feel like i have to be looking for something in particular

I've got Netflix, Prime and Now TV, but the latter is just because my mum has Now TV for internet so gets it packaged and I just use that because she has it, I tend to only watch Catfish and Modern family but yo ucan watch like Sky 1 and Fox live so I get Simpsons and Family Guy for example, and sometimes there'll be a new series starting to watch on it. Netflix is definitely my main for the original content and also older stuff that's an easy watch like comedies, or stuff like documentaries that are really interesting, plus they pick up a lot of international stuff that doesn't have an actual broadcast home that I watch (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Drag Race, The Good Place etc.),it's easily worth the price. Prime I just have as an extension of the student deal, it's more than worth it for the unlimited next-day free delivery even though i don't actually really use the video streaming, I don't think I have ever properly sat and binged something, I've watched like the odd episode of a cartoon as an easy watch or like a couple of old episodes of Wentworth.

Netflix is my main one. For me it has the best selection of TV shows and that's really important for me in a streaming service as that's what I prefer to watch. I also have Amazon Prime which gives me access to what was Lovefilm effectively (used to be a member of that back when physical rentals were a thing) but I don't tend to use it that much. It does have a few things that Netflix UK misses out on like Parks and Awkward though.

Outside of the major US streaming providers, I of course pick up the iPlayer/All4/Demand5 trio. Each have some strengths but the availability of the back catalogue on All4 tips it for me. They are incredibly good at providing access to their library of shows and I love that. Downside is their PS4 app is dire and never works.

I don't have NowTV but I do have the Sky Boxsets package which gives me access to a lot of really good US drama and comedy. More so than you get on NowTV

Netflix and NOW TV are my main choices. I use iPlayer regularly too but mainly for catchup or the odd boxset that I missed when it originally aired.

ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5's offerings I rarely use but they're there for catch up purposes if I ever miss something.
