The future of Team Sky, which has delivered Tour de France wins for Britons Sir Bradley Wiggins, Chris Froome and Geraint Thomas, is in doubt after broadcaster Sky announced that it will withdraw backing at the end of 2019.

Think this needs its own thread!
Certainly a shock to the system, I wonder what's caused this. Hoping for their sake that they'll get another backer so the team doesn't have to fold otherwise all the British riders will have to star looking for new teams. At least we've still got the Yates twins over in Australia! |

A sad day for British cycling, they have been a stalwart in the Tour de France.

Looks like Team Sky are set to become Team Ineos (a chemicals firm owned by Britain's richest man, Sir Jim Ratcliffe). Dave Brailsford will continue as principal.
This is a great outcome, glad the team will be able to stick together for the forseeable future! |
