BuzzJack Music Forum _ Indie, Rock and Alternative _ Gerry Cinnamon - The Bonny

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 4th October 2019, 02:52 PM

Following on from currently his biggest hit 'Canter' earlier this year, Gerry returns on October 11th with 'Sun Queen'!

Really enjoyed Canter, and the preview sounds good - so I have high hopes for this smile.gif

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 11th October 2019, 04:58 PM

Absolutely love this!

Posted by: dobbo 11th October 2019, 05:07 PM

This sounds absolutely dreadful. I loved Canter too so massively disappointed...

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 11th October 2019, 05:11 PM

What don't you like about it? It doesn't really sound that different from his other releases

Posted by: darrens94 11th October 2019, 05:40 PM

I like Gerry Cinnamon and I think he’s amazing live but his songs are starting to sound the same. This is just another Diamonds in the Mud with different words and it could do with being about a minute shorter as it drags on a bit.

Well I don't know much of his discography but Canter was chirpy & upbeat. I couldn't wait for this to finish on the other hand...

Listen to his album folks!

Posted by: Bjork 11th October 2019, 06:54 PM

really nice, much better than canter imho

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 31st October 2019, 09:55 PM

'Dark Days' is out tonight to coincide with the start of his arena tour!

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 1st November 2019, 11:35 AM

Another good song from him, love the harmonica as well!

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 7th November 2019, 06:51 PM

His second album is titled 'The Bonny', it's out in April - and a massive Hampden Park (a stadium!) show has been announced!

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 29th November 2019, 08:29 AM

Another brilliant song, the title track 'The Bonny' is out today

Posted by: Steve201 30th November 2019, 12:35 AM

He's releasing lots of tracks, considering it's not out for over 5 months.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 2nd December 2019, 03:34 AM

I think this album will do well and possibly go number 1 for him. Hus songs are really growing on me.

Posted by: Steve201 2nd December 2019, 08:55 AM

Yeh he's got huge support base from all his hard work touring in the past 3 years, should have a chance of no1 especially if Radio 1 decide to support him.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 2nd December 2019, 10:11 AM

I think they will, his current album keep ticking along with sales and ge is becoming more known.

Posted by: troublepink 4th December 2019, 09:08 AM

Just got tickets to see him in Manchester next year cheer.gif

Obsessed with his music over the last few months and his gigs look amazing.

Looking forward to the new album!

I really like him but being quite the introvert I'm not sure I would enjoy his gigs lol as they look a bit mad. I also don't drink.

I was unsure about going because of this too. I recently cancelled plans to go to a gig because I was having a bad day. But I got seats to Gerry's gig so hopefully it won't be as crazy as floor standing.

Oh and I don't drink either, but even when I did, I rarely had a drink at gigs because I'd miss half the gig from going to the bathroom, and the other half I'd probably forget because I was a forgetful drunk laugh.gif

Lol let me know what you think after then!

Posted by: Lissa Martin 12th December 2019, 04:27 AM

really enjoy.....

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 20th February 2020, 08:38 PM

'Where We're Going' is out at midnight - already sounds like a Gerry classic from the preview! He will also be sub-headlining under Liam Gallagher this year at Reading & Leeds, mad how big he is now in such a short time.

Posted by: Bjork 21st February 2020, 05:52 AM

nice on 1st listen but somehow I think Im a bit underwhelmed with the last few songs he's put out, he's not really killing it

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 22nd February 2020, 12:07 PM

Another particularly good one from him, and in general I think I'm preferring this album so far to his debut.

Ranking the singles, I'd go:

1. Sun Queen
2. Where We're Going
3. Dark Days
4. The Bonny
5. Canter

But I'm liking them all.

Posted by: Steve201 23rd February 2020, 08:37 PM

No Way for me his debut was amazing, nothing so far from the upcoming album cuts the mustard. 'Sun Queen' was a top 20 hit on my PC but not huge.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 2nd April 2020, 08:59 PM

As it hasn't been mentioned here yet, it was (of course) pushed back a week.

Posted by: lewistgreen 13th April 2020, 05:56 PM

Head in the Clouds is out now

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 13th April 2020, 07:18 PM

2. War Song Soldier
3. Where We're Going
4. Head in the Clouds
5. Dark Days
6. The Bonny
7. Sun Queen
8. Outsiders
9. Roll the Credits
10. Mayhem
11. Six String Gun
12. Every Man's Truth

So hyped for this album, I still listen to ‘Erratic Cinematic’ all the time - just ordered the HMV exclusive vinyl so hopefully it’ll arrive on release day.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 14th April 2020, 08:32 PM

I am looking forward to it aswell as think it's going to be great.

Posted by: gavindeejay 18th April 2020, 11:16 AM

Just listening to this album and have to say I’m really enjoying so far!

Posted by: ___∆___ 19th April 2020, 07:13 AM

Such a solid album - really enjoying it especially Canter and Head In The Clouds and upon multiple listens there hasn’t been a song I’ve skipped yet.

Posted by: Tangela 19th April 2020, 12:05 PM

Oh he's released it this week after all! For some reason I thought this was out on the 24th and hadn't sought it out to listen.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 19th April 2020, 04:48 PM

Very strong on first few listens

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 20th April 2020, 08:56 PM

This was a really solid listen! I definitely prefer it to his debut, my favourite tracks are Where We're Going, War Song Soldier, The Bonny, Sun Queen and Roll the Credits.

Posted by: Tangela 21st April 2020, 03:44 PM

Given it a couple of listens, not feeling it's anything special yet.

Posted by: Steve201 24th April 2020, 07:21 PM

No1 album with just short of 29k sales!

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 12th November 2020, 07:40 PM

"Definitive Version" out at midnight with new single 'Ghost', and new recordings of two of his older songs; 'Kampfire Vampire' and 'Fickle McSelfish'!

Posted by: darrens94 14th November 2020, 10:50 AM

‘Ghost’ is an absolute tune
