Dexton's Chart becomes 3 years old in May! Here's some interesting trivia to commemorate:
I forgot this last week but oh well. I figure my Artist of the Week may as well me the one and only: Dua Lipa! This week she tops my personal chart for the third time with single Physical! Her previous hits include New Rules and Calvin Harris collaboration One Kiss, both of which spent just a single week at the top! Will Physical break her curse and spend a second week at the top?
Following her debut hit in my chart, New Rules, she released the next single from her album IDGAF which admittedly struggled a bit in my chart coming in 2017 December- 2018 January which was just a mess here between my chart expanding to a Top 40, the Christmas effect, Triple J's Hottest 100, and probably just me being messy with my charts. Still a #5 peak and 5 weeks in the Top 10 isn't anything to be ashamed of. One Kiss was released not too long after IDGAF left my chart spending 10 weeks total on my chart after debuting at #1. This was back when 10 weeks on my chart was seen as a lot Now that's below average if anything, although lately we haven't had too many long-runners (aside from the obvious Tones and I and Avicii entries which hung around FOREVER). Then her Silk City collaboration Electricity made it to #4 along with Want To and Kiss and Make Up. Neither of those scraped even the Top 20 though so lets move on swiftly~
Although she hasn't had an insane amount of chart hits like other artists on my chart such as Khalid, she has definitely been here longer than most. Her newest album Future Nostalgia was released just last week and is already looking to be one of my top albums of the year. Thus far only The Weeknd and maybe Tame Impala could argue for the #1. Still the year is not over (and is dragging ON thanks to good old corona)
nice to see Dua at #1 here (yet another chart with Dua #1!) although hopefully Break My Heart can overtake Physical in due course.
from your gains Supalonely and Death Bed are starting to grow for me, not familiar with your new entries aside from Rita's which I'm not so keen on - I hope she drops a banger for the summer.
Hey Dexton!
Great to see Physical take the #1, it's an easy contender for song of the year so far and the album is the best pop album I've heard for a while Break My Heart to climb into the Top 2 next week?
Quite like that new Hayley Williams one, possibly the best of the three songs she's released so far, and certainly better than that last one with the names of all the flowers!
Nice to see Rita Ora sneak in, I've always got a soft spot for her even though it's not exactly an amazing song. Really hoping she comes back with a summer smash!
Great chart as always
Hello! Nice to see How To Be Lonely getting a debut! Great to see Break My Heart getting a top 5 in the chart, and of course getting Physical at no. 1 (pun intended) is a great thing to do!
Hello Dexton!
Nice to see "Physical" at #1, "Break My Heart" and "Never Seen The Rain" reaching the top 10, as for the debuts I like the debuts for "Wolves" and "How To Be Lonely"!
Great chart!
