So a few sources are claiming that Stop Me From Falling is the next single and that it'll be dropping soon.
Some other sources are saying it's upbeat and a bit experimental, but they also said Dancing was risky, so I won't take that as fact.

This site says it'll be released before Golden, so maybe just a grat but who knows? https://wmg.jp/artist/kylieminogue/news_79979.html

Mid to late March really needs to be when this, or whatever is the next single, to drop as Dancing will be dead and she needs something new to keep interst in Golden high.

I was hoping for a second pre-album single given the gap between the release of 'Dancing' and Golden, so I'm pleased to hear some new/rumours coming through now.

Could it potentially get off to a better start than 'Dancing'? Just thinking it will possibly have better initial promo than that did.

I don't think they've already given up "Dancing" because they would not wait until April to release it physical if it's done. Anyway it's good that Kylie is releasing one song (or maybe more?) before "Golden" comes out. She won't be as successful with this strategy as Taylor Swift was, maybe she will be more like Shania Twain before her "Now" was released last fall. Her grats were doing alright, but it helped to get interest so that the album charted on top.

This second single is confirmed, as it was sent through an official promo Kit to Germany, so this is for sure, we still don't know the date of release though, but mid march seems plausible.

That said, if the second single gets released before the album, it will mean the physical release for Dancing will come after which makes absolutely no business sense at all.

So far (when it comes to the UK) the Dancing 7" vinyl is only available if you pre-order particular Golden album bundles. So it's really an added incentive for the album purchase, rather than its existence being of benefit for Dancing's chart placement.

If its inclusion in bundles is swaying fans into buying a few copies of the album via a bundle, then that is good business sense. I can only speak for myself, but if Dancing 7" was available separately, I probably wouldn't have opted for an album bundle. But its inclusion in a bundle has also got me buying the deluxe CD, picture disc vinyl & a cassette of Golden, so presumably that will translate as three album sales.
It'll all be worthwhile if these bundles end up

You could say that her store should have shipped the 7"s out earlier and had them count for a good week of impact (i.e. this week), but I assume for her store it makes more sense to ship everything at the same time instead, save money on postage. And really, a physical isn't going to cause a miracle to happen anyway. Who knows how it would have sold if available separately, but given that Dancing is probably looking to end outside of the Top 50 this week, I very much doubt a physical would have got it any higher than low Top 40 at best.

If BMG were eager to get Kylie a Top 40 hit with Dancing, then they'd have put all their energies into getting her play listed (perhaps they have and failed, who knows). I don't exactly know what it takes for labels to get their artists onto important playlists, but sadly Kylie isn't on the likes of Hot Hots UK, so it's really that that is preventing her from a decent Top 40 hit, not the lack of a physical copy.


Anyway, hopefully things fall into place better with 'Stop Me From Falling', i.e. it doesn't suffer a leak!

We have remixes of Dancing coming tomorrow and 9th march so I would suspect new single out at last week of March ie. week before album released.

Also Dancing just playlisted on Heart FM and a new country mix coming it seems in addition to the Illyus & Barrientos and Anton Powers mixes mentioned above.

The remixes released tomorrow may help the song to stay top 100 next week.

Dancing should at the least manage a total of 50,000 sales, i know in large that is poor and her worst selling lead single but it wont be her worst overall selling single.

The Tour is not until Sept/Oct......... the album is released April. Lots of stuff to come and I wouldn't be surprised to see a new edition of album + Golden DVD out for Xmas or even for Tour time depending on other dates added.

Agreed. Was a shame the Kiss Me Once era was cut short (due to the reception of 'I Was Gonna Cancel'?) but I'd like to think we'd get one post-album single if we do indeed receive this onr before the album. Two singles doesn't feel enough for an album era.

Quire intrigued by the descriptions of this one, let's see if we get more 'comparisons' from people who have allegedly heard it that in fact turn out to be way off, a la 'Dancing'!

This is very exciting, release date is being rumored to be on the 16th of March with the video following a week after.
Release date will coincide with her promo tour as she will surely perform the new single during the promo tour among other album tracks, so it makes sense...
By the looks of it, this will surely work much more than Dancing and chart in many countries where she is non existent as of late, good choice to go Latino, to get such a feature etc...

Bit of a silly choice when Dancing is only just picking up airplay on Heart. They should have waited until 1/2 weeks before the album to bundle in with The Voice / GN promo. She’s basically following the same pattern as Dancing now and will miss the top 40.

Plus it indeed she is then she will release album track only. The main seller is the remix Gente De Zona which is the video she is filmed which is the big version she will push either next week or week after. Perfect! She doesn't have promo this coming week? She has five concerts!!!! Lol.

I think 5 concerts are promo for the fans not for the general public, anyway, the idea to release the solo version this week and then the remix after with the video (same week or the week after) might work for her as it will add up the sales of the single and make a double effect, this doesn't sound bad at all actually...

The truth is, her team need to do better. Leak or no leak, they should gave saved Dancing until the week of the promo (I mean, proper promo as in SNT), and the song would have stood a much better chance of sticking around (probably would have spent a week top 5/6ish on iTunes) and would have easily debuted top 40. You'd think BMG would have learned from this and released this single closer to the promo on Graham Norton/The Voice.

SmileyKylie, I don't think it's right to say that the solo version is being treated as "album track only" when she's announced it across social media as "the second single", with no mention of Gente De Zona as of yet. I think the solo version can therefore be regarded as a single version in its own right.

Also it's kind of presumptuous at this point to consider the Gente de Zona version as "the main seller" lol... who knows how the single will do. Gente de Zona's inclusion does not guarantee her anything. Ni Tú Ni Yo wasn't a particularly big hit for Jennifer Lopez.

Unless by some kind of miracle the song has really good playlist exposure on Spotify, then we're likely to see a repeat of Dancing's chart trajectory with Stop Me From Falling. Misses the Top 40 on the strength of fan purchases, then also misses the Top 40 when she promotes it some weeks later. Like Joe says, the release & promotion should really be concentrated at the same time if BMG wants to get her a Top 40 hit.

Do we know yet whether there will be a video for both the solo version and the remix version? I know we've seen Gente de Zona on the set, but given that the label are pushing a solo version first, perhaps there will be a Kylie only video too?

Also re: those mini concerts - sure, it'll likely gain her some articles that raises a bit more awareness of her forthcoming album. The discussion point raised was promotion specifically for the single though, i.e. TV slots.

Unless she has done two videos then the song they will push in a week or two will be the Gente De Zona one as tshe has filmed video in Havana which will prbslby be being edited right now......

I think they will do fine. She will be busy with her concerts next week and I agree she will be going for both songs to be available at getting double exposure and streams. I honestly think they will do better with Streaming with this song and it will be top 40.

I seem to recall Dancing being released at midnight then having a premiere on Radio 2 later in the morning so I guess it'll be the same deal again.

I was expecting a pre-album release for single #2 but I didn't realise it would be this soon. Remains to be seen whether it's a good call to move onto single #2 or give Dancing more of a chance, but I'm looking forward to this one regardless! Quite like the single artwork.

Dancing was played on Thursday morning on Radio 2 no? then released on the Friday at midnight.

It would be good to see it released at midnight if it is being released tomorrow then it should already be in the top 100 by time the radio premiere.

I don't mind waiting another week for its release though either.

The song is on the release schedule for tomorrow so it is most likely getting released after ti premieres.

Regardless of its release, i would welcome Kylie just getting a top 40 hit from this era. I know it is unlikely now that the lead single missed it but, if they got the release strategy and promotion right it may have the slightest of slightest chance of making it on the lower end.

Her team to bite the bullet and get it some Spotify promo please. That mediocre Years & Years song that’s not even a single managed it’s way into every single playlist 5 minutes after it's premiere. The digital team at BMG is very small though.

I prefer 'Dancing' as it has a bit more power, but this is nice. I like that there's a sound to this era and not just a mish mash of different genres. It's nice. Not sure if it will grow much, but I can't see myself disliking it the more I hear it, either.

I was a little unsure at first from that first verse but was sold by the pre-chorus/chorus. I agree with Jay - cute and uplifting is how I'd describe it too. The lyrics are really personal again; seem to bare a bit more of her soul than 'Dancing'. That "for yooooo-ooo-oouuu" is particularly beautiful!

I really did think that on my first listen.

As 'Dancing' is sticking around, I can't help but feel that despite her announcing this as a second single it'll just fall away and be classified as a "taster" of the album?

I do like that this album so far seems to have a clear and distinct sound and focus, rather than being a covering all bases mish-mash of genres (hello X and Kiss Me Once).

I cannot reiterate enough that the Gente De Zona version is the one they are going to push as the single with help from this album to build up sales and streaming. No one has heard the song yet and only been played three times on radio in UK.

Im a bit disappointed wit didnt make the top 200 when it was in the top 100 until Wednesday.

Im assuming sales between positions 101-200 are fairly close but i had thought she had been safe for top 200.

Im sure in the coming weeks it will get a new position and once it can enter the top 100 il be happy as a big hit we knew was never going to happen.

The unpublished Top 200 is based on the old chart rules, before ACR and three songs per artist cap were introduced. The current Top 100 isn't the same as the old rules Top 100, so it's not that 'Stop Me From Falling' fell from Top 100 to out of the Top 200 in a couple of days.

When 'Stop Me From Falling' was #97 on the Wednesday Update, on the old chart rules it was #160.

People are being realistic and taking things as they come. Yes it may be able to work its way back up the iTunes chart but, as of now, it still missed the chart despite having the similar chances as 'Dancing' had on its release week (granted it didn't have the hype that 'Dancing' had, what with it being the comeback single).

I've watched the Apple exclusive video and it's actually really good for what it is. Those gorgeous blue, purple, pink colours from some of the photoshoots are very prominent and Kylie looks like she's having a blast, really suits the uplifting nature of the song.

I recall there being a video filmed by paparazzi in Cuba with Kylie singing along to 'Stop Me From Falling' and there were Spanish male voices heard singing too, with rumours circulating that it was Gente de Zona. That was a couple of months back and I've not heard anything since apart from SmileyKylie insisting it's coming, so yeah, perhaps it is a good idea that the emphasis turned down several notches, SmileyKylie.

Its decline is slow as in a drop by around 2 places in each update so if it keeps going that way she will stay top 100.

I hope a remix and possibly a physical can give it a further push, while im happy she has got 2 top 100 entries from the Golden era id love SMFF to get a new peak and ideally a higher peak than the dreadful i was gonna cancel. SMFF is such a stronger song and deserves a better peak than IWGC.

Edit: this is a MESS despite adding extra vocals it's shorter than the album version and they didn't change the backing track, so we get a pop-country sound with a really crap spanish verse in it. Plus no new vocals, so the spanish bits feel so disjointed from the rest of it. All in all....keep it Kylie.

One plus, the "youuuuuu" bits feel fuller with the men in it.

Someone on PopJustice is saying the version that has leaked is from ages ago and retouches have since been made to allow the song to run more smoothly and less disjointed, so hopefully the version released this Friday works better. I bloody hope so at least, we've heard too much about this remix for months for it to be crap!

The person who said it seemed to be aware of certain details surrounding the remix a while back which have now been revealed to be true. Of course, anyone can claim anything on a forum but it wouldn't surprise me if there were touch ups given to the remix, especially as this leak seems to be referring to video clips from paparazzi that appeared ages ago. There could easily have been changes between then and now.

I do hope this remix is good, would just be a waste if not given all the forum hype and the amount of investment put into it.

It's not a remix in the sense a DJ or production team have taken the song and put their stamp on it but songs that have someone's vocals added on can still be referred to as a remix.

The final version is a lot better than the one floating around the other day, it flows much more easily. The onyl thing is I wish there was a spoken intro or something more Spanish at the start. It really kicks up several notches after Gente's verse and it'd be nice if that level was kept up for the whole thing.

The being said, the extra beefing in the pre chorus works wonders.

I LOVE that video, way more than I did 'Dancing' (which I did really like), probably her best since 'Get Outta My Way'? She looks flawless as ever, I just adore the red dress look, and the video doesn't feel like it was done on a budget like some of her recent ones have (I mean, most of them did look really great but you could still tell they were on a smaller budget). Really enjoying the remix too - it's strange how the solo version had its country influence yet this one sounds so Spanish, like even the bits that have been left as they were. It's odd, but regardless it elevates the song so much, it feels like it should be a big summer smash, no matter what the chances are of that happening.

#94 with 3.2k sold on today's update. Not confident about it staying Top 100 at all, but at least we can assume it'll easily be back in next week.

I think that might be one of the best video/song packages in a while. It just gives off such a great feeling that really compliments the song beautifully.

SO FEEL GOOD and just carefree. Loving the remix too. Love that she did Spanish too as I feel it gives it that bit more authenticity and that it feels more naturally as opposed to them just being shoe-horned in etc..

I am really impressed. This is my fave song off the album (after initially finding it a bit annoying) but with the albums release it's really hit me hard and that video just kinda seals the deal for me.

Looooove the video! She looks stunning! It's a very carefree and joyful video, and it definitely looks like money went into it.

Really enjoying the new version of the song too, it flows well. Who knew country-tinged pop and a Cuban flavour would compliment each other well?

If there's any justice this'll do well for her, but it being so low on NMF isn't encouraging. Fingers crossed it does good things on iTunes this week. (Btw it's interesting that this new version has been added onto the Golden album on Spotify, rather than as a stand alone single).

No, I've been thinking the same! It's such an energetic, summery song that I think people would love and not be fussed that it's by a no longer of the moment popstar. I work in a Tex Mex so I took the opportunity to add this to the playlist and it seemed to get a good reception. Obviously its streams are dependent on it being a hit, but I can see radio really taking to this new remix.

It took off really well on iTunes from Spanish/Latin America countries in a way that 'Dancing' failed to do, so maybe it can get some decent chart positions around the world?

It won’t go top 40 without a physical release. Dancing struggled for weeks to achieve its no38 peak and it got higher on iTunes and streaming so no chance. A physical release would add a much needed momentum.

And also all these Aviici and Cole songs etc, only three can chart from each.

Would say she will top 30 today and then slip unless US promo gathers some media attention

I don’t think it’s about waiting (at least not purely), It’s more about marketing Kylie to a climate that is heavily dominant on streaming services, and ads for non-premium users can help with that. It wasn’t much of a problem when Into The Blue was released but of course they had to switch up strategies to help maximize sales.
