Here's the breakdown for the veto from earlier today:
Style Of Eye Feat. SoSo - Kids 38 - Featured on Scandipop, Popjustice, The Guardian and a few other blogs - 10 points - Style of Eye finished 20th in BJSC 53 and 12th in BJSC 56 - 7 points (for top 15 finish) - SoSo finished 9th in BJSC 41 - 7 points - Style of Eye entered twice in the past 30 contests - 7 points - The song charted at #33 in Sweden and #76 in Germany last year - 7 points - Elliphant credited to this song on Scandipop, but uncredited officially - Charted by James - Style of Eye now a member of Galantis It is unlucky for this song to get so many points due to past appearances/successes of both of them, but it's just the way it falls unfortunately. I still think it would've been worth a veto even if it didn't have over 25 points. |

I presume you were the sender of 'Fade Out Lines'? If so, it was primarily because of it's substantial European (and Australian) chart success and the fact it was a top 75 "hit" here. Iz also tells me that when it was entered a few months back it was vetoed, or was going to be vetoed until it was withdrawn anyway. But yeah, it's chart performance was just too good unfortunately!

The reason might be that the long list in alphabetical order hasn't been updated in a good while in the Songs of the BJSC thread. So I think people see that a song is not on it and think they can send it.

We decided that it's pretty pointless to keep updating the alphabetical order list these days as it's a lot of extra work, and all browsers nowadays have a "search on page" or Ctrl+F function so people can check for previous entries that way - and it's much quicker than scrolling down too. But yeah, I guess keeping it there while out of date could have confused a couple of people! |

Yeah I make a habit of CTRL Fing the entries thread and if I can't get a result I assume it hasn't been sent and would attempt to send it. It's basically the mods responsibility to keep it updated and not to assume we're going to remember all the entries submitted in the last couple of contests that are yet to be added. |
