Why the GG 2019 and not the Venice red carpet though?

Even away from the music publications, she's made a major impact! |

My favourite year was 2011 with the release of BTW but her best year was probably 2010 (or 2018/19!).

2011 cemented her as a true force but 2019 did more to further elevate and polish her career bringing the longevity factor into play! I mean I honestly cannot for the life of me even imagine she will be irrelevant for the next 10-15 years. There will be pauses in the career obviously but she will still be a giant force in the music scene. People can sense desperation and her last name isn't Perry after all~ |

Love this!!!!
2010s Music Artists that Defined the Decade by CNN -- Lady Gaga For: Her wide range of musical ability and her experimental edge. Lady Gaga has always been unapologetically herself. After last decade's success of "Poker Face" and "Bad Romance," Gaga wasn't content to be a flash in the pan. She cemented her star with "Edge of Glory" and "Born This Way," a song championing LGBTQ rights. Her acrobatic voice was a welcome surprise among radio-friendly pop and she used it well, from effortlessly scatting with Tony Bennett on their jazz record, "Cheek to Cheek" to unleashing a primal wail in "Shallow," the anthem that scored her an Oscar. She's a colossus of pop for a few reasons, among them the iconic fashion moments (the meat dress happened this decade, as did her arrival to the Grammys in a giant egg), her unabashed support for the causes she loves and, above all, a strain of pop that is at once subversive, referential and entirely her own. Brava, Mother Monster. Why she matters Gaga isn't afraid to be weird, and she encourages the same acceptance and inclusivity among her fans. And her music has always straddled the decades and genres, citing everyone from Beyoncé to Iron Maiden as influences. Her lyrics touch upon subjects other artists wouldn't dare, and her performances always bring the heat, incorporating experimental elements that go beyond the comfort zones of other artists. Gaga can do everything, from emotional ballads to dance pop tracks. She doesn't let barriers like genre or others' expectations hold her back. Whether it's music or fashion, everything Gaga does is groundbreaking. https://edition.cnn.com/2019/12/31/entertai...trnd/index.html |

Consequence of Sound's top 100 tracks of the 2010s
AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! .. 82. Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper – “Shallow” (2018) In crafting a list of the best songs of a decade, it’s easy to point to the lyrics we remember nine years later. But when it comes to those tunes still powering through their adolescence, we ask ourselves, “Is this simply of the moment or an enduring force?” “Shallow” incites a gut-feeling of the latter. In an increasingly shallow reality — a culture desperately clinging to the rush of a “like” or “follow,” the modern currency of validation — we all silently ache for depth. “Shallow” belongs on this list because you probably spent a lot of solo nights crying into a slice of pizza over it, sure, but also because it serves as the emotional locus of an entire generation, an anecdotal anthem for the pains of modernity. –Irene Monokandilos 50. Lady Gaga – “The Edge of Glory” (2011) The current bleakness of the world has pitched pop into an ever-flatter stasis, but back in 2011, it felt invigorating to embrace a balls-to-the-wall zeal for life, and no song captures it with greater gusto than “Edge of Glory”. Lady Gaga’s penchant for unyielding hyperbole has occasionally overshadowed her knack for writing killer pop songs, but “Edge of Glory” eases up on the melodrama without ever sacrificing its own vigor. A sax solo would seem overwrought on any other pop song, but Gaga’s sheer embrace of cheese lends itself to the anthemic earnestness of the moment, and E Street Band saxophonist Clarence Clemons gives the track a glorious freewheeling boost. Gaga is ready to live and die in this moment, so long as it means living and dying fully and freely with you. Were things ever so simple? –Ali Szubiak https://consequenceofsound.net/2019/12/top-...r95oEYgtC_5bY4c |
