Yikes at Ride It doing so well. The locals are out in full force today! Vom. It really pisses me off that uninspired & generic dance songs like this can do so well with so much ease. Although it's probably had a similar career trajectory (I haven't been following it closely enough) it feels like Kygo x Whitney struggled and stalled a bit more to get to their peak!

Are you really bashing Regard as an uninspired and generic dance song while negatively comparing it against... Kygo, another low effort dance cover? (even if you think it's a better implementation of the formula as most people do it's still exactly the same thing).
Also yes it has had a similar chart trajectory, Kygo made the top 10 in his 5th week and Regard will be the same if it gets there this week (36-26-17-15-10-... vs. 69-45-25-15-... so far). Pretty certain Kygo got high up iTunes far faster than Regard as well, both have lagged a bit on streaming in comparison. Whether or not they're any good it'd be nice if we had more big dance hits which weren't remakes of older songs, having 3 of those at once right now is a bit much. |

Be careful what you wish for, unless you want some more 'Post Malone's in the chart.(which is actually a bit of a bop ngl but I prefer 'Higher Love' and 'Ride It', though not so much 'Sorry') |

Regard is gaining a lot, it's not all Ariana falling - Kygo has gone up from 0.46 to 0.56 in the last 24 hours while Regard has gone from 0.48 to 0.7.

Riton coming to possibly have an actual hit single (if this crosses over at all to streaming ofc).
edit: and of course after looking it up it's another dance song based on a sample of an older song lol. Also did not realise 'Good As Hell' being anywhere near that high gah ~ |

I'm not saying it rewrites the genre or anything, but there is just something that bit more authentic with HL. I actually feel like it's the gospel-y feel you still get from it (and ofc Whitney's stellar vocals - Kygo really took care of it all, respectfully) imo.
