VS I'm hoping we can get a few of these battles going, but this one is debated OFTEN on the interwebs already and has to be settled once and for all. With two songs with the same names, but both being world's apart, which is your favourite? The sultry and seductive 'Bedtime Stories' version or the euphoric, dark adventure off 'Confessions on a Dancefloor'? Vote in the poll and comment with your choice below. |

Now in the past, it would have been the Confessions song hands down but, after I finally managed to appreciate the Bedtime Stories album, the song on there has proven to be one of my favourites from said album. SO seductive and really captures the essence that the album was going for. It's about a 9/10 for me whilst the Confessions song is a tad lower at 8.5/10. That said, the latter is sounding pretty incredible in isolation right now. That whole "one upon a time..." lyric when the song properly gets going just sounds soooo good.

This isn't even a contest for me despite how utterly splendid both tracks are.. it's just the 'Confessions...' version ranks as my favourite album track (or at least in my top 2 with 'Devil Wouldn't Recognise You'.. no it's definitely #1.. either way IT'S UP THERE AT LEAST).
The track just does something to me, as cliched as that sounds. Whenever i hear it i get all tingly lmao. Powerful vocals, stunning instrumentation and alluring vocals - it's one of M's most perfect songs for me And the way it leads into 'Jump' too, SLAYED everytime. That isn't to take anything away from the 'Bedtime Stories' version obviously, that's an incredible song too but just not quite at the level of the other for me. |

I've always felt Forbidden Love was a better song than Forbidden Love. Both rank about middle in their respective albums and are about 8/10, but Forbidden Love just has that little bit more heft production wise and is also better vocally and lyrically than Forbidden Love, so Forbidden Love gets my vote.

Two of her very best album tracks, love them both but I'm giving a slight edge to 1994 with that smooth melody and amazing vocals.
