OMFG!!!

BJSC IMPAKT HAPPENING AGAIN!

It's going to do another sigala and galantis! :cheeseblock:

I'm on Team Sam Smith next week, I love to see a Bond theme going to #1, but I reckon Justin Bieber will be #1 till Tuesday, with Sam Smith taking the #1 spot soon after single sales are so low at the moment so it could happen, with Justin Bieber selling around 55k at close of business for this week.

I can't see Little Mix that high actually with the X Factor commercials still banging out Black Magic, at the weekends. Could just snatch #10, and that's really pushing it.

Posted by: mr_pmt 24th September 2015, 11:22 PM

Is that the right single release for The Chemical Brothers? I've seen 'Under Neon Lights' on a few radio playlists and it seems strange they'd release this for that reason, and also as it was a promo single just before 'Go'.

I don't know how that's going to really affect it in any way? I mean, fair enough if you'd said radio still refusing to let go of it and not giving the new one enough air time (which is too early to say yet anyway).

Plus 'Black Magic' is well clear of the top 10 now, it won't be competition for it...

Posted by: OutstandingMixer 24th September 2015, 11:28 PM

Little Mix for #1 please! wub.gif

Realistically, 'Love Me Like You' will most likely enter in the low Top 10 this week. Hopefully it will climb in the Top 5 when its airplay increases. It deserves to be a big hit.

Posted by: liamk97 24th September 2015, 11:35 PM

'Black Magic' will be a staple play on radio for the rest of the year but I could imagine they'll be just as keen to play some new Little Mix music too, so I can't see 'Love Me Like You' being overshadowed that much.

Apparently we hear the Bond theme at midday, given it premieres at 7am in US according to Sam Smith's twitter.

Posted by: Tombo 24th September 2015, 11:53 PM

Seems to be a rather quiet week, not many new releases!

Posted by: ManicKangaroo 24th September 2015, 11:54 PM

92. Nick Brewer - Talk to Me (feat. Bibi Bourelly)
183. Little Mix - Love Me Like You

790. Rudimental - Lay It All On Me (feat. Ed Sheeran)

Posted by: Hazza Chapman 24th September 2015, 11:58 PM

Nick Brewer is the only thing of interest this week as far as I'm concerned.

Posted by: LeeWallace 25th September 2015, 01:59 AM

I'm expecting Little Mix to debut at around #3 this week which by all means is incredibly impressive.

34. Sia - Alive
48. Sam Smith - Writing On The Wall
80. Nick Brewer - Talk to Me (feat. Bibi Bourelly)
141. Little Mix - Love Me Like You
361. Rudimental & Ed Sheeran - Lay It All On Me

47. Sam Smith - Writing's On The Wall (Pre-Order)
78. Nick Brewer - Talk To Me (feat. Bibi Bourelly)

263. Rudimental & Ed Sheeran - Lay It All On Me

Sam Smith is releasing worldwide today - I reckon it'll storm straight to #1.

Posted by: ML Hammer95 25th September 2015, 06:31 AM

The new Rudimental song will shoot up once people are exposed to it... has the potential to be one of the biggest songs of what remains of 2015.

Really want Nick Brewer to do well, been loving that song for ages! Had all the right promo as well, it's always on the music channels and stations like Capital, Kiss and 1Xtra - can't ask for much more as a rapper releasing your debut major label single.

Posted by: brefardan 25th September 2015, 07:46 AM

The James Bond theme has actually already been played twice by Nick Grimshaw on Radio 1 this morning, so it should start climbing before midday. Not sure I'm a fan personally...

11. Sam Smith - Writing's On The Wall
19. Sia - Alive
25. Little Mix - Love Me Like You

The Bond theme is pretty limp. Lana for the next Bond theme please. I knew it'd be released today. iTunes release dates are often wrong.

Posted by: Mart!n 25th September 2015, 08:34 AM

Here is the bond theme, a short version of it

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/5qFm14lhcYZcPDMnwcMw1M2/listen-to-the-new-bond-theme-tune-as-introduced-by-sam-smith-on-grimmys-show

I find it a bit limp as well, it might just grow on me I really expected more from it, I actually prefer Skyfall over it. I still prefer Sam Smith at #1 for that first Bond theme to reach #1, but I prefer someone else doing it rather than Sam Smith. Florence + The Machine would have been ideal.

Posted by: Mart!n 25th September 2015, 08:36 AM

7. Sam Smith - Writing's On The Wall

Posted by: Joe. 25th September 2015, 08:45 AM

I'm sure the Bond theme will send Sam Smith's album flying up the charts as well for a few weeks.

The new Bond theme is rubbish, would be typical if this was the first one to finally manage #1 but I'm hoping it will fall somewhat short.

I don't think Little Mix are the type of act to set the chart alight with OA/OS, once radio pick it up (I've already heard R1 play it this morning) I'm sure it'll go top 5! Feels like a long runner to me, especially if they get to perform it on X Factor!

The new Sam Smith song is BORING. Little Mix's is kinda dull, I think I have started to prefer Fifth Harmony, they have BETTER music.

The new Sia song is FAB.

No other standouts really.

Posted by: *Ben* 25th September 2015, 02:03 PM

I was just thinking the other day why some singles have been released on a Thursday and I might have an answer to that. Friday is now the new global release day that means also in the far east and Australia. Because of the time differences some songs appear as released on a Thursday afternoon in Europe but in reality they are Friday releases, because they have been just put up on iTunes according to the Australian time where it was already Friday. What do you think?

Posted by: Jonjo 25th September 2015, 02:06 PM

Little Mix's song only officially premiered today. So it was never gonna go much faster! I believe it'll be a steady OA/OS seller! It'll have longevity I think.

Janet Jackson for a top 100 smash, it should be much more, but it is likely she wont even manage the official top 100 pirate.gif

Posted by: SLlewellyn 25th September 2015, 04:58 PM

The whole 'A Bond theme has never reached #1' talk is definitely working in Sam Smith's favour I think, that and the fact it's a great song. I'd much rather see that at the summit than R. City, urgh.

Bit disappointed with the new Little Mix track though (although I really don't like "Black Magic" either) - it'll be a long running hit though I reckon, it's got real winter-y vibes to it as so many people pointed out on the radio this morning.

Impressed seeing Sia in the T10 on iTunes, though if Naughty Boy couldn't hit T10 officially after a week in the T5 then I won't hold my breath.

Interesting that this is a Hip Hop song over House beat, there's not been too many over the last few years with a chance to do this well commercially.

If only Adele hadn't released hers on a Friday than she would have had the first Bond number one, that and Skyfall was just such an epic track and far superior to WOTW...

Although after what happened with 'Chains', anything else from that era probably would have struggled to chart anyway.

She performed, on Alan i think

It's good to see Selena promoting in the UK, she's had interviews with Capital, R1 Live Lounge and Alan Carr performance, it's such a shame she never performed on Graham Norton as it would have had a much bigger impact.

Fantastic to see Nick Brewer performing so well, really shows the power of Capital playlisting. The last Hip Hop song with a House beat I remember charting was Down On My Luck last year, can't think of many others.

Rudimental doing brilliantly too. Could well be a long-running hit although I see it performing similarily to Omen.

I'm still not convinced R. City will be #1 just yet. Justin's streaming is WAAAAAY higher than theirs and will almost certainly make up the sales deficit if Sam Smith slips behind I think. Could well be wrong but we'll see.

Good to see John Newman's starting to get somewhere - interesting that he still managed to get playlisted after he slid out of the iTunes chart so quickly. 9 weeks is standard for both Ministry of Sound and AATW/3Beat singles now. It's ridiculous but it seems to get results.

Just some of my current faves:

97 Jack Savoretti - Back Where I Belong
184 Blonde feat. Karen Harding - Feel Good (It's Alright)
188 Will Young - Joy
226 Hailee Steinfeld - Love Myself
294 Andreya Triana - Playing With Fire
296 Foxes - Better Love
355 Rachel Platten - Stand By You
384 James Morrison - Demons

Posted by: Juranamo 29th September 2015, 02:59 PM

It's really bugging me that people keep labelling OA/OS songs that don't reach their peak STRAIGHT AWAY as 'flops' (or 'initial flops'), that is what caused OA/OS to fail a few years ago. Give them a chance to build airplay, just because they peak lower than what they perhaps would have done, does not mean they are flopping. And just because they appear in the Top 100 for a week and then vanish, does not mean they have been and gone. Especially if the artist is currently in flavour, and deemed 'relevant', they will receive airplay later on so that they will reenter. 'Levels' is a prime example, it is now receiving A List airplay and is 59p, so of course it was gonna climb back up!

Agreed, it is very rare that a song will capture the interest of the public immediately. Only fan base acts, charity singles and artists that are massive can garner enough support to debut at No. 1 - the majority climb there over time as seen by the R.City/Levine and Macklemore songs. I think the record companies will be forced to adopt this strategy now that downloads have collapsed and streaming tends to take a while to peak.

great to see these looking to be big hits!

first time hearing 'In2' and it's great music.gif definitely sounds like a smash

So happy to see KDA doing so well on pre orders, I want this to smash so hard it deserves to be a number one!

Philip George's track has really grown on me so fingers crossed it does well next week but I've a feeling he might miss the top 10...

Posted by: SLlewellyn 30th September 2015, 06:01 PM

Boo at R. City hitting #1, not really a fan to be honest - although it's quite nice to see something a little different doing so well.

Yes at all those pre-orders doing well though. I love that Tinie Tempah raps "Top five, no less" - let's certainly hope it can live up to his prediction.

Posted by: mr_pmt 30th September 2015, 06:07 PM

Maybe Natalie La Rose might nab a top 40 next week based on that then.

I really wish Philip George was releasing 'Afraid To Love' instead of this mess next week. sad.gif It's about 100 times better!

Posted by: Ryan. 30th September 2015, 07:04 PM

I sound like a broken record but I'm very disappointed in so many pre-orders in the top 200 and therefore looking like scoring very undeserved high peaks. It just feels like cheating now and it's not right that some labels can continue to manipulate the chart when the vast majority are not doing so.

This is the song I've been raving about on here for months! Already one of my favourites of the year, this has been massive on the underground scene this summer.

Honestly think IN2 could go top 10, which would be fantastic. I cannot stop listening to it right now.

I don't mind pre-orders in the new OA/OS climate but only before the song premieres, like Sam Smith and Ben Haenow/Kelly Clarkson.

Yeah they are absolutely fine, its just those that are still being held back for weeks that are annoying like the Philip George track.

Peaks at #32 on iTunes.

Seriously hope 'Run Away With Me' is reduced to 59p tonight in the new batch, I'm positive that it could go top 20 on iTunes if it's discounted.

I do really want Tinashe to have her time, she's easily the best thing in her genre for a long time.

Tonight's new releases (pre-orders)

74 Philip George & Anton Powers - Alone No More
194 Natalie La Rose - Around the World (feat. Fetty Wap)
607 The Vamps - Wake Up
645 Sigma & Diztortion - Redemption (feat. Jacob Banks)

Heading for a decent amount of new entries- the new Vamps is apparently out on Saturday (?), if the last 5SOS single had a physical/EP sales boost in its first week they'd have probably reached the top 10, so I expect The Vamps can manage that at least with this method. Philip George could be a Top 10 contender, but I feel he'll land somewhere outside that, I don't really get a big hit vibe from it (though it might end up surprising me like 'Intoxicated') The new Natalie La Rose track hasn't performed too well on pre-orders, though since I don't really trust pre-orders much, I'm gonna guess she'll make the top 20~ not sure what to expect from the Sigma track, won't make the top 40 yet but could get there eventually

Posted by: JosephStyles 1st October 2015, 02:01 PM

No idea why iTunes says Wake Up is out on Saturday, The Vamps' Facebook and Twitter all say it's out on iTunes tomorrow, so hopefully it's just an error...

EDIT: It seems it's getting a release similar to What Do You Mean? - it'll be released after its worldwide radio premiere tomorrow morning!

Let's just agree that it's better than the majority of singles Little Mix have released.

I saw the video for In2 for the first time on Channel AKA this morning and it's refreshing to see that UK based urban music is looking set to do well in the charts. It was also refreshing not seeing any roadmen on that channel for once laugh.gif

Posted by: ML Hammer95 1st October 2015, 02:41 PM

Nice to see you're a viewer of Channel AKA Hazza!

Interesting to see the Sigma single bought forward by three weeks, i wonder why they've the label has done that?

Posted by: Jonjo 1st October 2015, 02:42 PM

It's ok. I can settle for this being Natalie's 'If It's Lovin' That You Want' to 'Somebody''s 'Pon De Replay', I guess. cry.gif

Well it's been playlisted on Radio 1 so you'd assume so.

I assumed it would have been a James Bay kind of thing like LIG was the official first single and got re-released due to the success of HBTR

In all seriousness though I totally agree, especially with the great KDA track. It could easily be top 20 at least IMO and that's without a huge amount of AirPlay at the moment.
