Excellent Tess. cool.gif

I'm excited that the London date(s) is at the Olympic Park. Never been there and always wanted to go to a gig there.

I was only going to buy tickets for one gig but I know I'll regret that nearer the time so shall try for two (provided he announces extra dates).

I know the tickets will be nearly £100 each though. That's extortionate isn't it?

Posted by: Laura130262 7th November 2016, 12:11 AM

I'm curious to see how many countries he's visiting this tour. I think it will be a lot. Hope he will remember his lesson from 2006 and plans them wisely.

That is the point I have been making with all this pre=tour promo, he will be exhausted before he even starts the tour.

Robbie is a grafter, always was , he does not know when to stop . I was wondering what way this tour would go but talking to someone yesterday who is going she said there is huge interest amongst her friends for tickets so I think it will do well

Hopefully he will Laura . I am wondering if they will announce a second Aviva show as the first one is sold out.

So today I've read rumours of a tour date in Israel in September 2017, there's rumours of South America plus Oz.

Wonder if the rumours are true? I wouldn't be surprised on all counts. I feel the tour will be bigger than 29 dates. I think his autumn will be busy.

A lot of folk over here do not lie the fact that Robbie performs in Israel , to him I guess it's another destination

Surely they must have their venues picked by now, unless he intends touring later in the year which makes September sound just about right

Posted by: Better Man 8th March 2017, 09:15 AM

one more date smile.gif

Posted by: Laura130262 9th March 2017, 12:18 AM

I still think there are plenty more dates to come for this tour that we don't know about yet. Not in the UK but in other countries.

I wonder if he'll ever get to China?. Twice China has been listed and been cancelled before he ever got to perform. That would be a mega market to get into.

Posted by: Sydney11 9th March 2017, 05:20 AM

Another date has been announced in Germany

It was just an aside comment Better Man , I have seen some of the abuse he gets on Facebook when he performs there , not necessarily his own FB page but on others that I freuent, usually those that are interested in the whole Israeli/Palestine thing

So this is a gorgeous thing for RW to do cool.gif

Dress Rehearsals

Good news! Robbie is inviting all Upfront subscribers to attend The Heavy Entertainment Show Tour dress rehearsal on 1st June. This is open to everyone who is an all-access member as of 21:30 GMT on 16th May 2017, wherever you are in the world. The first batch of invitations have been sent by email now. If you have not received yours yet, please wait for it to arrive shortly after 21:30 on 17 May. Please note - this replaces the original draw for 50 UK members to win tickets to the rehearsal.

When I first saw this I thought it meant everybody worldwide could now enter the draw for the opportunity to see the Dress Rehearsal in Manchester but it actually means that all members have free tickets to go. cheer.gif

I didn't apply before because of work but I'm trying to think if I could drive up in the afternoon and come back down afterwards so I could go to work the next day. It's such an amazing opportunity. I think there are only 3000 members if every single person went. It's at the Etihad Stadium. smile.gif

About four and a half hours by car Tess if I'm lucky.

I've had a think about the dress rehearsal and I can't go. sad.gif It's too difficult mid week to get time off work at our busiest time of year and I'm already off for six days in June anyway - one to see Robbie at the Olympic Stadium. laugh.gif That's why I didn't enter the competition in the first place. It's just not meant to be.

Plus I consider myself really, really lucky to have got to the Troxy gig in November. So I'm grateful for what I've had.

It's very tempting and will be a unique evening for those there but trying to work out how to get there was just too stressful so I've gone with my gut feeling and decided not to go.

I wish I could give my tickets away because I printed them up but the Upfront member has to be present on the night so unfortunately no one else can benefit from my not going.

On a more optimistic note my tickets for London were delivered yesterday. dance.gif dance.gif have you got yours yet Tess?

British pop star Robbie Williams arrived yesterday in Brussels where he is rehearsing in Heysel's Palais 5 for his upcoming world tour, The Heavy Entertainment Show, which comes to Belgium's Werchter Boutique festival on 8 July.

Williams also chose Palais 5 to rehearse for his last world tour in 2013. This time around, the singer is staying in Brussels' Hotel Amigo near the Grand Place, according to Het Laatste Nieuws. The newspaper was tipped off by the 23 vehicles parked in front of the building.

Yet the grime-laced Rudebox – derided at the time of its release – felt strangely current, and Angels was given new life as a poignant tribute to the victims of the Manchester and London bombings. Williams’ dedication, like the best parts of his set, was mature and from the heart.

cool.gif Hello, I'm back, got a bit waylayed on the way as one does angel.gif so only back this evening

The evening on Dublin was absolutely lovely weather wise , really enjoyed Erasure & the crowd really responded to them which was quite nice I thought .
, Robbie came on to a huge roar from the crowd, they really do love him. i also noticed that there were a huge amount of guys there & they were singling along so obviously fans of Robbie, the show was very enjoyable . After a bit Robbie announed that his back was fuc**d & that we would see chairs several times during the night which we duly did & which I thought was very funny as they had obviously created especially for him , one he balanced on & was then taken from one side of the stage to the otther whilst singing at the same did, how he managed that I do not know laugh.gif , he had his leather skirt on & it looked quite funny from where I was standing .

He really focussed on the audience & made sure that everyone in the stadium felt included & shouted to the sides & back of the stadium like he always does & the crowd responded as they usually do , he is so good at capturing the attention of the audience that he just makes it looks very easy which I am really sure that it's not .

I do think that he is restricted in his movements on stage, that is obvious but by God does he try , you could see that the audience appreciated it & really warmed to him, it was a great night, I thought his voice sounded terrific . He did the song I thought he would for the Irish audience, you can hear the audience singnbg with him Good Looking Woman https://youtu.be/23L2Wd0PhzY tongue.gif

We had great craic , we walked back to the hotel afterwards & got lost , so took two hours to get to the hotel when in fact we should have got there in 25 mins wacko.gif , we passed the American Embassy twice

Anyway I has a great weekend & looking forward to when Robbie comes back again , the people here love him & he got great reviews reviews from the press so well done Mr Williams wub.gif

Robbie's tribute to George Michael went down very well wen he sang Freedom, I really liked it, a hilight for me actually

Great that you had a good time, Syd. All the reviews I read until now, especially the Irish are great. They often point out that Rob is aside of a fgreat shownman well aware of his place in this time, but that he is far away of being finished. I hope his back will get better than we might see some other tours to come

I don't think "being finished" ever crosses his mind Elisabeth. Not nowadays anyway.

Still playing to stadiums after 27 years - as I've said a million times - his character won't change with age and neither will his hits. If his body allows him to, I think he will always perform. It's literally in his blood isn't it?

Posted by: elisabeth1974 20th June 2017, 05:29 PM

yes it is Laura, and I like to read so many great critics. I do not understand however if it is meant well or not when some say that he does not take himself so serious and give people some karaoke like perfromances. Isn't this what a 'serious' musician would hate.
It does not seem to be meant negative by the writers though.

Posted by: Better Man 20th June 2017, 08:13 PM

I like a note I have seen in a few articles: there is no similar shows to Robbie's shows.

Posted by: Sydney11 20th June 2017, 09:41 PM

If I go out for a night I like to enjoy myself & you are guaranteed that at a Robbie gig , it's a bit of a sing a long but that;'s what people want

He got the best reviews ever from the music mags when he released Rudebox & that is where the serious side of his songwriting comes in but he is right that when people go to his shows they want to hear the hits. I have my own preference for setlists but it will never happen because most people in the audience would not know the words to the songs. Robbie picks the songs that suit stadiums /arenas.etc . Some people might call it Karaoke but you need that atmosphere in a big stadium otherwise it can be very flat & that in turn becomes boring . He knows what he is doing & what works , he feeds off the reaction of the crowd , he is very good at that .

I understand what you mean Elisabeth. He's said himself he's given up trying to be taken seriously and just gets on with what he does best - entertaining the masses and being a "man of the people". To get the masses singing and uniting as one - that's what he does best, he knows how to make it look easy and that's what the newspapers recognise.

It might not be "cool" in the true sense of the word although personally I find it pretty cool that his songs can keep 50,000 people a night feeling positive in these turbulent times we're living through. That's no mean feat. cool.gif

BTW, there are rumors he will join Take That at their concert in Norwich (June 23).

A few words about stage on Robbie's Tour.
I really like this, it's fun and well-produced looking at videos, etc.

But by my opinion 3D stage would be much cooler, especially because the main topic of the album is boxing.
I'm sure his production team thought about this but maybe his health is a reason why they chose the different type of stage.
Anyway i like that Take That performs at 3D stage now.
I still remember U2 concert in 2009/2010 and still can't choose what was better view for me: seating or standing. Both views were amazing.
I saw Adele performed at the similar scenes and it looks fantastic as well...

My daughter took this tonight. She was up in the seats with her boyfriend and I was on the pitch with my other daughter.

We didn't get there until 4.15 and got straight in and a really good spot.

Really enjoyed the gig - it was a lovely atmosphere inside.

My favourites were Freedom and Love My Life. Plus of course the gorgeous Angels. wub.gif I liked the simplicity of the stage.

I think he was pleased with the crowd. I hope so. smile.gif

I thought when he walked off stage, he looked really stiff from his back. Hope it wasn't hurting him too much but I wouldn't be surprised if it were. sad.gif

There was a bit of a security kerfuffle during Sweet Caroline just behind us. Some (incredibly stupid) person had left a bag alone on one of the seats. The whole tier was moved away and there was a couple of minutes until the sniffer dogs arrived and declared it safe which was a little bit disconcerting. Don't know how people can be so daft with all the tension around at the minute. Anyway it didn't stop Robbie and like he said today - he really appreciated everybody turning up in these difficult times and if we were prepared to turn up then so was he. That's all anybody wants to hear. happy.gif

I loved Freedom as well Laura, it was also my favourite of the night along with Come Undone

Some people are really thoughtless but tbh big bags should not be allowed into venues like that , some of our associations over here have recently announced that backpacks , big bags , etc are no longer allowed which I think is a good idea, times have changed & since that terrible crime at the Manchester where even children were targeted precautions have to be taken because these people are capable of anything

I really do not know how Robbie is going to get through this tour with that back of his, when does he finish , September !!

Posted by: elisabeth1974 25th June 2017, 06:04 AM

For those who have already seen him:
In the clips I watched he is sitting a lot even through sons like Come Undone. Is that a subjective impression? In the reviews they are all cheerful about his performance anyway.
It seems as if the critics are thankful that he is still there.

He is limited in his movement Elisabeth - compared to the man that is usually racing around the stage that we're used to. It doesn't affect in the least his ability to communicate with the crowd - the response was as good as ever hence the brilliant reviews - but you can see he is just doing his best in quite trying circumstances.

I watched him on Friday at the very end after My Way and he was moving so awkwardly up those stairs - my heart really went out to him. sleep.gif

I'm sure we will have two sold-out concert in the end.

There is still recorded interview (for main Russian TV channel) with him on hands and it hasn't not shown yet.
I think they will show it during 1st September week. It will help to sales a lot.

Robbie Williams in Verona: the king is tired!

We were the first Italian leg of The Heavy Entertainment Show Tour, in Verona. But what we have seen is not what you would imagine from the name of the tour

Forty thousand people, coming from all Italy, to fill the Stadio Bentegodi Verona. It is on July 14, the first Italian date of The Heavy Entertainment Show Tour Robbie Williams, the 15 stops off at the Lucca Summer Festival and the 17th in collisions. Party on 2 June from Manchester, come to us between security measures that the start time close to diminish because the queue is long, too long, and you need to open the side gates otherwise people will not come in time .

Inside the climate it is of great celebration . The Robbie Williams people is always the same, for many years now.

Fan faithful, some grown up with Take That , others have achieved up to his twenty years of solo career , often thanks to a live, where the pop star was able to conquer anyone was watching. From clubs, arenas, theaters, up - today - at stadiums

The Bentegodi is ready, besides music of ' Anthem English God Save The Queen , as they move along the words revisited to measure pop star, in a large karaoke in which the audience is singing God Bless our Robbie , God bless our Robbie , to welcome the English star like a king. And it is now clear that it is, at least as far as pop, but he must declare it, confirm it, repeat it, each time more. It's part of the character and is among the reasons why it is so much adored. And basically Robbie knows that here Italy, where he had been missing for two years, the public expects it, acclaimed him, loves him, anyway. As a king precisely. Although it is clear after a few songs that this time the king is a bit 'tired.

It starts with the songs warms stage ( The Heavy Entertainment Show and Let me entertain you ). The ladder moves between each of the last album ( Party Like a Russian for the occasion becomes "like an Italian") to early career successes ( Freedom 90 , his first single, this evening dedicated to George Michael). There are songs to which he is particularly fond of, almost more fans ( Moonsoon ) . There is the beginning of Robbie ( She's the one ), there is Robbie reminiscent of the great songs of the other ( Minnie the Moocher and Sweet Caroline sung on stage with his father) and that of his hits ( Rock DJ, Come Undone ). There's Robbie dad who dedicated the song to her children, but also to all our ( Love my Life ). And there is also the Robbie of that part of the path that had not worked much ( Rudebox ).

Except that, eighteen songs in total , are perhaps a little 'for a show so few expected. The concert starts at 21:25, before 23 is already over. Robbie sings, makes you sing both the public and does all he has always been accustomed to seeing: winks, says the words he knows in Italian, launches the chorus of "world champions", brings to the stage a girl from the front row engages the audience in improvised choruses, with so many songs to be sung, and not his: from Livin 'on a Prayer by Bon Jovi Back for Good Take That, through Stayin' Alive by the Bee Gees. But bale less, gets excited less, and yes, even less singing . In some songs you miss and the final feeling is that everything ends too quickly.

It is not what we imagined from the name of the tour, which is also the album: The Heavy Entertainment Show, heavy entertainment, they hint that the role of Robbie, is not only a singer, but an entertainer, actor, star , divo, including words, jokes, gags and songs. Everything is there, but there is not.

There are also fireworks, confetti, fire, clouds . A scene led by two great boxer Robbie that form the big screen, where they spend the live images and graphics cured, surrounded by a beam of light. There are dancers, the musicians, the band. There are all the ingredients to make a great show, in fact. Yet Angels , comes too quickly, to declare the end of the concert, which is closed with a note on My Way , the Frank Sinatra song that now is a bit 'his as well. But basically this is a message, I do everything "in my own way." And the audience applauds, however, still screaming, still loves him. And that's okay. But, dear Robbie, this time we have to say, is not the way to which you have become accustomed. And we know that surprise us again. Probably as early as next concert. In Lucca , where Robbie torna after two years of age ( and where two years ago had given the best of themselves ), and Barolo , for the first time in collisions.

He cut the gigs to ninety minutes yesterday and tonight. I wonder if that was planned.

Posted by: Sydney11 16th July 2017, 06:02 AM

I guess the longer the tour goes on the harder it is on his back so it's not surprising that this s happening. Apart from Robbie doing himself a personal injury it also compromises his performance as an artist , people are not used to see him like this on stage hence such reviews as the Vanity Fair one. I am not sure what the circumstances were regarding this tour but I reckon he had signed on the dotted line before he injured his back & had no choice but go ahead with it. The main thing at this stage is that he does not do himself a longterm serious injury because that would be the end of his touring .

Although in fairness, I think that is the only review that has "noticed" he's not moving as freely as usual. I saw a good review the next night at Lucca. I guess it changes on a day by day basis.

I think unless you're a fan who has seen him multiple times before, you wouldn't notice anything was amiss. He's doing a brilliant job at covering it.

I'm guessing this tour has been booked a year ahead. A year ago he was actually playing ten minutes at Soccer Aid. If he'd cancelled the tour there would have been a lot of abuse and negative reaction. Look at the abuse Adele got and that was "just" for two concerts. Imagine cancelling a whole tour?

He's nearly half way through. Hopefully it's bearable for him and he can get to the end and then see what happens next. Sending him lots of love for it.

Unfortunately Billboard counts the touring around USA and Canada only.

German audiences are always very appreciative of artists , more than most . I know an Irish guy that has been touring there for years & he always talks about the support he gets , they do love Robbie

Posted by: Better Man 27th July 2017, 08:59 PM

So, I was on the first concert in Berlin and it was a great concert... absolutely fun and VERY emotional... Well done, Rob,

I invited my new American mates and they were SO enjoyed by Robbie and the show at all. They told me it was the best concert in their life and when I informed them that Rob is not so engetic nowadays they thought I was kidding them =)))
They can't believe they didn't know him.

My favourite moment is Millennium: audience waved their hands from start to the end.
My craziest moment is Rudebox. It sounded fantastic.
And I loved Party Like a Russian as well...

I decided don't be in GA and just sat on seating places - so great view need to say. I danced during all the concert and nobody sat since THES song...
And this Anthem! LOL. Everybody tried to sing it with a hand near heart )))
One of the best and cozy venue when I've ever been - it looks like a BIG theater - and one of the most emotional concerts. German audience are great, love them very much.

That is a wonderful picture Betterman & love your fantastic banner . I know what you mean about the standing, we stood all the way through his gig in Dublin even though we were in a seated area, in fact everyone was standing , singing & boogying start to finish. The gig just goes so fast , you want it to last forever . Great you enjoyed the night, we all look forward to next time ....

I agrre, German audiences are brilliant , no wonder he loves them so much ...

Brilliant photo Alex! Lucky you being at that venue - it looks amazing.

Glad you had such a good time. happy.gif

I think German and Australian audiences are the ones that he enjoys the most. They seem to really "get him" and he relaxes in their company. He always gets excellent reviews there too.

Next stop is Sweden. Traditionally their press are always really tough on him.

No idea. I wasn't that taken with that bit of the show. I would have rather he sang the song with a backing singer. It was a waste of the song for me. sleep.gif

I've noticed 90 minutes seems to be the running time of all the shows now so we were lucky with our extra fifteen minutes in UK. He's looking good in the clips I'm seeing though so I would guess that length of time is working well for him. Which is good.

What did you think of the setlist for this show , it was more low-tempo don't you think, I guess it was selected to suit his back problem , nothing with to much exertion I'm thinking. it is obviously working as he is still going without injury & that is the main thing

Certainly from the clips I've seen - he seems to be going from strength to strength so something is working. smile.gif

Maybe he's finding a good balance of enough movement to keep his back in shape without over exerting it? I think the 90 minutes is working well for him and he does seem to be enjoying himself.

He's definitely missed out some of the more energetic numbers - Candy, Mixed Signals, Sensational etc. He's doing a good job of making the situation work for everyone and he's getting through the tour in one piece. cool.gif He should be very proud of himself. He's doing really well happy.gif

and still filling stadiums after 27 years.... wub.gif

I think I've got that right. unsure.gif

I'm sure the rest of the Aussie tour will be announced imminently.

I agree Elisabeth he is going from strength to strength. He's looking great and people that are going are saying he's moving much freer than he was at the start. Also he popped into chat yesterday for the first time in two months. I didn't see it but he said he is loving this tour. So it does all seem to be going really well.

I saw a tiny online clip from Copenhagen a couple of days ago where he was saying his health has been rubbish this year (presumably he means his back) and he does need to sort it so it sounds like the back op is still on the cards. Maybe it will be after Soccer Aid next summer perhaps?

Yes he is. Far tougher than he thinks he is. He has an excellent work ethic. Once he makes up his mind he is going to do something, he makes it happen. I've always admired his "can do " attitude and the fact that he doesn't give up. Even if inside his head tells him differently.

Robbie Williams still enjoys. His 'heavy fun' attracted 30,000 fans to Letnany

He is drunk, egoistic, sometimes slightly vulgar, yet he can get the sympathy of millions of people around the world. Prague's Letňany lured 30,000 fans to the evening. British singer Robbie Williams has proved that even 30 years after the beginning of his musical career, people have fun. Before the singer himself came to the stage, they played on the stage of the star at the turn of the 80s and 90s of Erasure. ( Not sure where they got the drunk bit ) mad.gif blink.gif

Erasure started exactly at quarter to eight, and 11 concerts offered 11 concerts, including Blue Savannah or Love To Hate You, during three-quarters of an hour .

Robbie Williams began his performance with the so-called Robbie's national anthem. After the introduction, The Heavy Entertainment Show could begin. From the plaque of the same name, he presented three songs in the 100 minutes he spent on the podium.

There was also cover, including George Michael's Freedom hit . At Something Stupid , Williams invited his wife Ayda to the stage, and Sweet Caroline sang again with her father Pete Conway. The audience started singing at the end, hitting them like Feel or Rock DJ .

"He was great, awesome. I've probably never seen anything better, "said Vracov visitor. Another, a younger generation, did not convince the show. "I was quite disappointed with the ending. The fact that Heavy Entertainment is supposed to be good, but two years back, Depešáci - the fact that I did not listen to them - had the show far, far better, "she said. ( not sure what the last bit means ) unsure.gif

Robbie Williams performed at his biggest concert in Prague. The Letnany camp was preparing for him for a whole week. From Prague, the singer moves to Budapest, Vienna is waiting next Saturday.

Reading around this evening (fans in the know not RW), no back injections for the last eight gigs and nearly all the chairs/props that were there at the start of the tour are no longer there. He's had a second opinion on the back. Not all doom and gloom like before. Much happier Popstar. smile.gif

I would say that's borne out by his general appearance/demeanour. All seems to be going well. cool.gif

Robbie Williams goes old school with tickets to his Heavy Entertainment Show tour next year

POP superstar Robbie Williams is going old school and scrapping pre-sales for tickets to his Heavy Entertainment Show concerts in Australia next year.
Williams will kick off the tour at Brisbane’s Entertainment Centre on February 20 and has booked indoor concerts at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on February 24, Sydney’s Qudos
Bank Arena on February 28 and finish at Perth Arena on March 7.
In addition to the announced headline set at the Adelaide 500 on March 4, he has added a Day On The Green outdoor concert at the Mt Duneed Estate in Victoria on March 3.

Promoter Michael Chugg said Williams wanted to level the ticket playing field for his fans by making all tickets available at the same time next Thursday (September 7).
The measure is also an attempt to prevent bots and scalper sites securing pre-sale tickets and offering them for sale at increased prices before the general sale opens.
Chugg said fans might also consider adopting other old school approaches to buying tickets including queuing at box offices.
“Robbie’s team didn’t do pre-sales for his European tour and would prefer not to do them here,” the promoter said.
“This is one way of testing everything we have been talking about this week to stop (ticket reseller) Viagogo getting hold of tickets.
“And maybe that could also be going to line up at the box office because I know people who have done that and managed to get their tickets just after sales opened.
“You’ve just got to try everything.”

The promoter also cautioned fans against “Googling for tickets”.
“Fans should be going directly to the official websites rather than Google because that is when you get Viagogo at the top of the results and have no guarantee you are buying a ticket that isn’t scalped or how much you will get hit for in fees,” he said.
“By going to Robbie’s site or Chugg Entertainment, you will find the show you want and can click ‘Buy’ to go to the official ticketing.”
Williams has been a wildly popular live performer in Australia since his first solo tour in 2001 and has been a regular visitor to our shores ever since, most recently for last year’s ARIA Awards.
He kicked off the Heavy Entertainment Show world tour in Manchester in June, breaking down in tears when he dedicated his signature song Angels to victims of the terrorist bombing of Ariana Grande’s concert on May 22.

The concert he has been performing in Europe draws not only from the Heavy Entertainment Show album which he released last year but the gamut of his solo career including fan favourites such as Let Me Entertain You, Millennium, Come Undone, Kids, Feel and Rock DJ.
It is also chockers with covers including Something Stupid (occasionally sung with his wife Ayda), George Michael’s Freedom 90 and The White Stripes’ Seven Nation Army.
Williams recently announced he will release a new record called Under The Radar Volume 2 in November.
The pre-order album covers on his website show a naked Williams climbing up a tree.

“It’s a (compilation) of songs that I’m extremely proud of but didn’t make the previous featured albums. They should’ve done, they’re amazing — but you can get lost in an alleyway of ‘I’ve got to write a hit or everybody dies!’” he said to announce the album.
“Lots of great songs go missing when you’re in that state of mind — here they are.”

Tickets to the indoor concerts will be available via Ticketek while the winery show can be purchased from adayonthegreen.com.au

All shows go on sale on September 7, with Sydney, Brisbane and Perth available from 10am local time and Melbourne from noon.

I think Elisabeth may well be right when she said about his frame of mind at the beginning of the tour affecting his performance , what do they call it ' psychosomatic ' & as the tour went along he started feeling a lot better plus I guess all those chairs at the start did help his performance later in the tour tongue.gif , talking about taking it easy, who else would take a whole load of different chairs on tour plus a couch & get away with it laugh.gif

It can't have magically gone away though can it. I'm really happy for him that it's eased and he's feeling much better in himself and it's not affected the tour - he's done so well smile.gif but he's had a dodgy back for years. Going back to TTC cinema release of Tallinn - he referred to it several times during that show. That was five years ago? Maybe worrying about the tour can make it worse but it's still an underlying condition.

I just hope he doesn't over commit himself and then it re-occurs that's all as it seems he has busy times ahead as always.

Marry Me

Robbie Williams

Produced by Guy Chambers & Richard Flack

Album Heavy Entertainment Show

Marry Me Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Silence in the courtyard
Silence in the streets
The biggest mouth in the world
Is just about to speak
And what I wanna say is
Four simple words
In this particular order
So here it goes

[Pre-Chorus]
You make me feel
Like nothing has been real
Until now

[Chorus]
Please, I'm on one knee
I can see
Will you marry me?

[Verse 2]
Silence for a moment
Silence from the world
These are the four words
That simply must be heard
I'm not that romantic
And I know I get things wrong
And 'bout the time I get to say I'm sorry
It's been too long

[Pre-Chorus]
But you make me feel
Like nothing has been real
Until now

[Chorus]
Please
(I love you more than life)
I'm on one knee
(I want you for my wife)
I can see
(Lead me to the light)
Will you marry me?
Oh, my darling
Please
(I love you more than life)
I'm on one knee
(I want you for my wife)
I can see
(Lead me to the light)

[Bridge]
I won't give up
I won't break down
In a little while
So give it up
Or put me down
Anyway meanwhile

[Chorus]
Please
(I love you more than life)
I'm on one knee
(I want you for my wife)
I can see
(Lead me to the light)
Will you marry me?
Everybody say
Please
(I love you more than life)
I'm on one knee
(I want you for my wife)
I can see
(Lead me to the light)
Will you marry me?

[Outro]
(I love you more than life
I want you for my wife
Lead me to the light)
Will you marry me?

DAVID'S SONG LYRICS

Hold me now, I think I might be dying
I'm not ashamed to say that I am frightened
Hold me now, I used to heal like lightning
Are yours the last eyes that I'll ever see
Staring into me?

Was I just because
A mistake in love
Two people who stop trying enough
Don't want a brand new life
This one's just right
Why would I throw it all away?

Won't you hold me now?
Just before I stop breathing
I know I promised I wouldn't leave here without you
Please, don't let me go
While they play the last song ever
The last chance to hold each other forever

Hold me now, I've still got words worth hearing
I just wanna be a human being
Hold me now, we all know what I'm fearing
I think I see the light, am I disappearing?

Was I just because
A mistake in love
Two people who stop trying enough
Don't want a brand new life
This one's just right
Why would I throw it all away?

Won't you hold me now?
Just before I stop breathing
I know I promised I wouldn't leave here without you
Please, don't let me go
While they play the last song ever
The last chance to hold each other forever

Won't you hold me now?
Just before I stop breathing
I know I promised I wouldn't leave here without you
Please, don't let me go
While they play the last song ever
The last chance to hold each other forever

Hold me now
Remember how we were at the beginning wub.gif

I'm guessing that is recording a couple of new tracks for a GH package for Christmas 2018.

plus he said in Upfront this last week that he already has 7 songs for a Christmas album so maybe that is next in 2019?

Do you mean UTR Vol2 Laura, I doubt it as the tour is about THES & nobody would know the new songs , I always think he could slot in bits of the new songs into his existing show but maybe it's too much hassle getting it together. I bet he will fly directly from LA to Australia with little time for rehearsals ,, typical Robbie. Another think is the kilt will be way too big for him , he as lost a lot of weight since last summer ...

There was something on FB about final tickets for the Oz tour so I looked on Ticketmaster for the dates and there was this:

Global pop phenomenon, ROBBIE WILLIAMS, today confirms that he will bring his mammoth Heavy Entertainment Show World Tour to Australia in February and March.
Opening to rave reviews across Europe, The Heavy Entertainment Show Australian Tour will see Williams perform a glittering hit-laden set spanning his entire career, along with a couple of surprising covers thrown in for good measure.
From his breakthrough global smash hit ‘Angels’, through pop anthems ‘Let Me Entertain You’, ’Millennium’, ‘Come Undone‘, ‘Kids‘, ‘Feel’ ‘Rock DJ’, and more, Robbie Williams’ unparalleled catalogue is a career-defining generational soundtrack.

These data don't cover Irish concerts, only UK.
For UK these data are correct, just checked this.
If we add his Irish concerts in 2017 then the total data will be not so better: ~230,000 tickets.

Ed will be an absolute winner in 2018 (at least in UK) - he will cover 900,000 by my forecast. It's not TT in 2011 (1.8M) but it's a huge result anyway.

QUOTE
How many venues did Robbie cover in the UK?
7 dates (5 in England, 1 in Scotland, 1 in Wales)

So, these (@tourscharts) UK data (320,000 tickets/people) are closer to reality than Pollstar's WW data (570,000).
Let me explain why I'm thinking so.

First of all, this would mean there were only 240,000 people at the rest European concerts (24 dates). For 7 dates - 320,000 and for 24 dates - 250,000? LOL. Of course no.

Second, don't forget about the official feedback on RW website in the end of 1st Leg:
QUOTE
The Heavy Entertainment Show Tour got off to a spectacular start in Manchester on 2 June 2017, and saw Robbie perform for over 1.1 million fans in the UK, Ireland, Germany, France, The Netherlands, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Poland, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria and Switzerland.
https://www.robbiewilliams.com/tour/heavy-entertainment-show-tour-0

1.100,000 vs 570,000? Come on, that's absolutely different numbers and I believe to RW management more, of course.
After getting these UK data my I'm 100% sure that Pollstar's data are wrong.

Third, before the tour I analyzed the venues and its historical average values and my forecast was 1,250,000.
So you can admit I also was wrong and more optimistic but it's only 10% mistake (I calculated with Russian dates so now it's even 5% mistake), while Pollstar's statistics is 50% mistake - that's too much and impossible knowing how the venues are usually occupied.

In other words, THES 2017 Tour should be in WW Top-10 (9/10 place) by selling tickets.

After adding 11x Oz concerts (additional 300k people) data the total Tour's result should be 1,400,000 tickets sold (1,100,000).

Also:
- I can't and don't want to check the other artists' data but some of them are definetely true (U2, Depeche Mode, Coldplay)
- My main thought why Pollstar's results are double less than real data is in private management/agency of Robbie's concerts. They even don't provide the intermediate data of concerts to big sources like Billboard and without their support it's impossible to get real numbers.

So I don't want to judge Pollstar for the wrong information but just want to tell you don't believe to their Robbie's numbers in the list.

These (my) data are more correct:
- 31 concerts
- total selling tickets - 1,100,000
- average tickets per concert - 35,500
- total gross - I don't know!! but if the following point (average ticket price) is correct (it looks OK) then - 100/118M USD
- average ticket price - 108 USD (Pollstar's data)

QUOTE(Better Man @ Jan 14 2018, 02:00 PM) *
These data don't cover Irish concerts, only UK.
For UK these data are correct, just checked this.
If we add his Irish concerts in 2017 then the total data will be not so better: ~230,000 tickets.

Ed will be an absolute winner in 2018 (at least in UK) - he will cover 900,000 by my forecast. It's not TT in 2011 (1.8M) but it's a huge result anyway.

1.100,000 vs 570,000? Come on, that's absolutely different numbers and I believe to RW management more, of course.

I am more inclined to believe Robbie's management when it comes to these numbers ...they have no reason to make up the numbers

Especially 28 years into his career.....

I wonder what the nett income is? There must have been plenty of expenses.

I read that Ayda and the kids would be based in Sydney so maybe they're heading there first.

Some interesting facts on Win Some Lose Some , I wonder if that is why he included it in the setlist smile.gif

"Win Some Lose Some" is a song by English recording artist Robbie Williams. It was released in New Zealand on 13 March 2000 as the fifth and last single from his second studio album I've Been Expecting You (1998).

The song became another top ten hit for Williams in New Zealand; peaking at number seven, it spent four weeks inside the top ten and 21 weeks overall on the chart.[1] The song was included on the New Zealand version of Williams' Greatest Hits album due to its popularity there.

At the end on the big screen you can quite clearly see that she is saying to him "you saved my life".

Five highlights from the show

Williams’ huge hit single from 2000, Rock DJ, is the energetic pinnacle of the Heavy Entertainment Show
The Robbie Williams Band, with horn section, backing singers, and particularly versatile guitarist Tom Longworth, is impressive
New Zealand-based country songstress Tami Neilson is a worthy opening act, and she has a fan in Williams, who said ‘‘she’s got a bigger voice than me’’
Long-term Williams show closer Angels remains one of the best and most sentimental songs in his repertoire
Like a well-travelled comedian, Williams no doubt uses the same gags for each show, but he knows how to get a laugh, and remains the inveterate entertainer

Yes he did say it on chat although I didn't see it myself. Only the chatter after.

He said he had exciting news that they had booked three gigs in places he hadn't been to in a long time and you would need to save your air miles to get there.

I'm sure it is S. America because last year his dad made a comment that they would return there in the near future.

Is Robbie Williams the last great showman of modern pop music !!

CAMERON ADAMS, Yarra Valley, Herald Sun
February 22, 2018

ROBBIE WILLIAMS
An Evening on the Green
Rochford Wines, Yarra Valley

ROBBIE Williams may well be the last great pop showman.

His charming mix of suave Rat Pack swinger, boy band-bred pop bad boy and vintage Vaudeville entertainer sets him apart in the modern musical landscape as a guaranteed great night out.

He won’t stop until everyone’s enjoying themselves.

But it’s his self-deprecating sense of humour — in person and in his lyrics — that helps explain his wide appeal in Australia. Perhaps only Pink and now Ed Sheeran have such a wide mix of demographics at their concerts; that’s why between last night’s winery show, two Rod Laver Arena shows this Saturday and Sunday and a Geelong winery show next week, Williams will play to nearly 60,000 people in Victoria alone.

The jokes begin in the ‘National Anthem of Robbie’ that plays on the screen as he’s about to come on stage — taking the piss out of his time in rehab, being totally global “except in the USA” and his surprisingly young face after his 44th birthday last week.

A little greyer but a lot fitter and fresh-faced since his last visit in 2015, the Heavy Entertainment Show tour may be promoting his latest album, but the setlist features only two new songs — the title track opener (where he calls himself a mix of Barry Manilow and Eminem) and ballad Love Your Life, written for his two kids but sung for those belonging to the parents in the crowd.

Rather it’s a high-octane Greatest Hits show delivered by a man who displays no sign of a recent health scare that saw European gigs cancelled at the end of last year.

And not just his own (impressively long) string of hits. His very first single was a cover of George Michael’s Freedom 90 and it’s now back in his set as a very passionate tribute to his late hero. The lyrics mirror his own struggle to transition from boy band Take That (he still plays their own anthem about being in a pop group, Never Forget, complete with those overhead arm claps) to serious solo artist.

In case you wondered where Robbie got his moves from, once again his father Pete Conway joins him on stage — this time they sit on a couch and sing Neil Diamond’s Sweet Caroline together.

Another key to Williams’ success — his broad musical scope, something that’s becoming a rarity in pop. He dips into his swing career with Minnie the Moocher and recruits a tipsy woman who’d had to much “lady petrol” to sing Somethin’ Stupid to. Then he’s defiantly added the divisive rap number Rudebox back to the set — also giving it one of the night’s biggest productions. Still doing it is his belated eff you to the people who called it commercial suicide when it was released.

Williams knows people come for the hits and they come at a relentless pace — his motto Let Me Entertain You plus Monsoon (with a dash of YMCA), Come Undone, Millennium, Kids, Feel, She’s the One, Rock DJ and, for local audiences, the Australian-only hit Better Man. (New Zealand had Kiwi-only hit from his second album Win Some Lose Some).

However Williams seems particularly energised and excited on this tour (he’s just had a few months off) and it’s still baffling that he openly admits he’s an introvert who only switches into extrovert mode as he walks on stage. It’s one of the most excellent ‘acts’ in pop.

Most of Williams’ ribald banter can’t be printed here, but he told the An Evening on the Green crowd he enjoys coming down under as Australians let me be a “stupid ballsy twat”.

Yet that same “twat” manages to tap into serious emotions when he delivers the classic Angels.

If you were to nitpick, the setlist hasn’t changed too much from his last concert, bar a boxing theme and all new visuals to match his band’s incredible skills.

But like the superstar heroes in his DNA like Elton and George and Queen you’re fortunate enough to have so many trademark hits that people would feel cheated if they didn’t hear them the way they remember them. If it isn’t broke, why tweak it, just enjoy it. And massive, communal enjoyment remains Robbie Williams’ special gift.

Robbie Williams wows crowds at Coldstream’s Rochford Wines in the Yarra Valley

Kiel Egging, Lilydale & Yarra Valley Leader
February 23, 2018 5:49am

“MY name is Robbie Williams, that is my band, this is my ass, and tonight, you lot are mine.”

On a balmy Thursday night in the Yarra Valley, the UK’s favourite son showed why, at 44, he’s lost none of the cheek, hits and charm that has made him one of the finest cross-generational entertainers of our time.

He has a ready-made anthem to get everyone up and in the palm of his hand within five minutes (Let Me Entertain You), the new single about the joys of parenthood to dedicate to mums and dads (Love Your Life), and even a singalong for a couple of boozed-up mates sitting behind me (Better Man).

And by the end of the night, he has couples, parents and kids, and groups of mates all with their arms around each other singing along to his timeless ballad Angels.

Williams is the king of interacting with a crowd and warming people’s hearts — he gives a free T-shirt to a fan up the front for remembering his lyrics, and orders security to get an aspirin and water for another wild fan who’s had too much to drink.

He also pulls another lucky lady out of the crowd to serenade her with Something Stupid and grab a selfie — only after getting permission from her husband.

Williams’ shows have become a family affair in recent years — with his dad Pete Conway joining his touring band.

They combined for one of the most heartwarming moments of the night — casually belting out a cover of Neil Diamond’s Sweet Caroline on a couch in front of 11,000 fans.

There’s also a tribute — and a joke too rude to publish — to his late idol George Michael, with his very first single from 1994, a groovy cover of Michael’s epic hit Freedom, also in the set.

Williams’ show capped off arguably Rochford Wines’ most star-studded A Day On The Green season yet, with Sir Elton John, Stevie Nicks and Human Nature all playing at the winery this summer.

He has three more Victorian shows ahead of him — a weekend residency at Rod Laver Arena tomorrow and Sunday, and another winery gig at Geelong’s Mount Duneed Estate on March 3.

Mackay man on stage with Robbie Williams in Melbourne

Campbell Gellie by CAMPBELL GELLIE

25th Feb 2018 2:45 PM

Very funny video in link provided https://www.dailymercury.com.au/news/mackay-man-on-stage-with-robbie-williams-in-melbou/3345691/

IN a packed Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne Mackay man Justin Shepherd sang "I love you" to world superstar Robbie Williams.

All dressed in pink as the Pink Boys, a support group for the Pink Girls, Mr Shepherd was pulled up on stage in front of the sell-out crowd on Saturday night.

Mr Shepherd was asked to sing along to William's hit song Something Stupid, chiming in with the lyrics "I love you".

It was a conflicting moment for the Shepelec managing director knowing his wife Samantha was a bigger fan of the UK performer.

But that didn't stop him from having an exhilarating night.

"I'm not usually someone who gets nervous or embarrassed but walking up to such a star I was very nervous," he said.

Mr Shepherd said his wife and the other Pink Girls from around Australia and the world had waited at the stadium from 6am to secure front row positions for the concert.

He and the other two Pink Boys arrived two other hours later.

During the concert, Mr Shepherd said Williams was looking at the pink crowd. Mr Shepherd raised his hand and chosen to go on stage.

"It was fantastic," he said.

"I still have a saw jaw, I haven't smiled so much ever he said.

But becoming the centre of attention had its drawbacks, he said it took him a long time to leave the arena.

"That was the hardest part because people wanted to touch me because I touched Robbie," he said.

"I now have 1000 friend request on Facebook and Instagram because people have photos of me."

Robbie Williams review: An evening of good old-fashioned cheeky fun

MUSIC
ROBBIE WILLIAMS ★★★★
Rod Laver Arena, February 24

There was so much joy and frivolity in this concert that it's hard to know where to begin; suffice to say the Heavy Entertainment Show Tour was, well, heavy on the entertainment.

The ego is real, but so is the generosity of spirit with which he shares it smile.gif

Adelaide 500: Robbie Williams Delivers A Fitting Finale

BY DARREN HASSAN ON MARCH 5, 2018 BREAKING, CLIPSAL 500, ENTERTAINMENT, MUSIC

It was obvious from early in the day that the growing throng amassing on the Concert Green were less focussed on racing, and more ‘Ready to Robbie.’ The final day’s offering of Robbie Williams drew a sell-out crowd, so much so that organisers had to stop selling tickets at around 5 p.m. This was a wise call, as it was mayhem inside the grounds well before the support acts even hit the stage.

Ollie English from the Adelaide Hills was the first on stage, with a mellow blend of soul and blues to chillax the crowd after another full-on day of thumping V8 action. This guy is so laid back he’s almost concave, but he knows how to deliver a great set. https://soundcloud.com/ollienglishmusic

Bringing on the funk, Neon Tetra were brassy and ‘saxy’, one of the groovier acts you’ll see. Their horn section adds a kind of disco vibe to them, real ‘get up and dance’ music.

https://www.triplejunearthed.com/artist/neon-tetra

By the time Multi-platinum Brisbane sibling super-group Sheppard hit the stage, there was a real buzz happening among the crowd who were in full party mode. Having been at both previous nights’ concerts, it felt like the numbers ere double, and trying to secure a spot close enough to the stage was near on impossible. Opening with their new single ‘Coming Home’, these guys and gals were slick, colourful, and real crowd pleasers in every sense.

But alas, the ‘Heavy Entertainment Show’ was in town, and heavy entertainment it was indeed. Shameless, brazen, bold and brassy, Robbie Williams sure knows how to put on a show and his signature riff ‘Let Me Entertain You’ couldn’t have been any further from being a statement rather than a song title. The man knows how to please. Definitely not shy to drop expletives at will, Williams has the innate ability to have an audience eating out of his hand, even if you’re not a Robbie Williams fan per se.

Covering songs from his own repertoire, he also covered George Michael (Freedom), Cab Calloway (Minnie The Moocher), and a delightfully indulgent 70’s/80’s medley just for good measure. The man is so blissfully successful he can afford to not effectively give a damn what he does onstage, although he does so in the right measures. Indulgent, yes, but never so excessive that he comes across as arrogant and condescending.

Dragging people onstage for selfies, signing a female fan’s breast, and even dragging his dear old Dad onstage, it was a night of controlled chaos as the bad boy of pop drew the curtain on Adelaide’s fuel injected weekend.

That’s it for another year, and we look forward to seeing hat next year has to offer in terms of the after show gigs. What an experience it has been, I think everyone can put their feet up for a while and reflect on the weekend that was.

Robbie Williams Perth review: is he the ultimate showman or a dirty uncle? laugh.gif
Ross McRae | The West Australian
Thursday, 8 March 2018 2:28AM

The best part of the whole show is that Williams seems like a new man, relaxed and at ease with his beloved showman persona as he happily worked through his (nearly two decade old) hits – a far cry from when he was on the verge of a breakdown at the height of his fame in the early 2000s.

The musical highlights came courtesy of his breakthrough 2003 album Escapology – a raw vocal on Come Undone and powerful laser show accompanying a dramatic version of Feel.

At times the Carry On jokes got a little stale, as did some of the naff covers performed karaoke style, but there is no denying the charm and charisma of Williams making him one of the best male entertainers of his generation. wink.gif

So the next thing live wise will be to find out where his three additional gigs will be. He'll have to announce them soon I would think to allow time for tickets to sell.

If one is South America I wonder if there will be interviews. Can you pick up where you left off after 12 years?

Can't wait to see how it all unfolds. cheer.gif
