Hi all. From looking at the singles results and various other topics the opinions of what is the best single from her debut album change.
Most of Kylie's other albums have a clear favourite single but her debut seems to have a more mixed response to what is the best single. I know myself i rate all of this songs highly but have a slight preference to one of them. I thought i would open this poll out of interest to see which single would win. Definitely 'Gotta Be Certain'. I have such a huge soft spot for that in terms of her early singles.

Such a difficult choice! I still listen to this album all the time and it was the first vinyl I ever had at the ripe old age of 8 The International singles ‘Turn It Into Love’ and ‘Its No Secret’ rank highly for me too.

It truly is a difficult choice. I left out the international singles and based it on the UK single releases.
That said, from the 2 international releases Turn It Into Love is much superior to Its No Secret. I do think Turn It Into Love would have easily made a Top 10 single as the fifth single from Kylie as she was on a crest of wave at that time. My vote in this is The Loco Motion, it was her first song that i really took notice of, it remains a great party song and ever so enjoyable 30 years later. |

Je Ne Sas Paid Pourquai is easily my favourite from that era closely followed by Locomotion!

To me, 'Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi' is the most sophisticated. Not that anyone was aiming for sophisticated with this album, but it sets it apart for me.
'I Should Be So Lucky' was my favourite at the time, and 'Got To Be Certain' is up there too. It's too difficult! |

Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi looking back was so different for its time and something that no one expected from Stock Aitken and Waterman.

'I Should Be So Lucky' - Still an iconic Kylie classic and one her many signature hits.

Has to be Lucky for me. A classic Kylie song and classic SAW fun catchy pop. Has a lot of nostalgia for me too, despite being released in the 80s, it was always on the music channels when I was little.
Turn It Into Love would definitely be my favourite from the album though. |

I thoroughly enjoyed The Turn It Into Love incorporation into the Light Years Song on tour. It was a wonderful surprise mid song as i didnt expect it.
I do think I Should Be So Lucky and The Loco Motion are more signature hits for Kylie than the other 2 although they are still well known. |

Loco motion for me,always puts me in happy mode. I like all 4 songs, lucky is one of my fave live tracks she always nails it. I hate the slow jazz style versions of loco motion but loved the snippet she done on sat night takeaway in the medley.

I only discovered this earlier in the year but it's already one of my favourites. Such a great song and it must have been such a treat for fans at the time! |

The mix fitted so well, it was almost like that's the way the song should always have been. That mix done in the studio would have made a blinding single and possibly better than Please Stay.
Out of the four singles Got To Be Certain was the one she performed least until recent years she finally incorporated it into the medleys. I really enjoyed when she performed Got to Be Certain on her audience with that she done for the release of the X album. |

I would love Kylie to do a Kylie countdown and select her top 10 favourite singles of her own and possibly her 5 least liked singles. If Kylie was to pick 10 what 10 do you think she would select.
I think the 10 she would pick but not in any particular order are: I Should Be So Lucky Better The Devil You Know Shocked Finer Feelings Confide In Me Where The Wold Roses Grow Spinning Around Cant Get You Out Of My Head Love At First Sight Slow Least i am very unsure of as my best was picked from bits and pieces she would have refered in interviews. I can only What Kind Of Fool as she did make reference that she didn't want to record the song. |

I voted for lucky but got to be certain is a very close second. I don’t really like the locomotion and it’s a cover so that would be last.

Je Ne Sas Paid Pourquai took a galloping lead initially but its looking like I Should Be So Lucky has just pipped it in the votes to win unless we get further voters.
