bit of chart info from aus.....

Albums

Following from last weeks record of having three albums in the top 20, P!nk has decided to go one step better, and has four albums in the top 20! Funhouse has remained at No.3 again, I’m Not Dead is at No.10, M!ssundaztood is at No.18 and scraping in at No.20 is Try This. Carrying on from last week, this is a first for this century. Other artists to achieve this include Guns ‘N’ Roses in the 90’s and Abba in the 70’s. However, further down the charts, we see that P!nk actually has seven albums in the top 100; Can’t Take Me Home is at No.28, M!ssundaztood / Can’t Take Me Home is at No.40 and Try This / P!nk: Live In Europe is at No.64. Other artists to achieve this include Elvis Presley, Robbie Williams and Metallica.

This week’s No.1 ARIA Club Chart topper – Bonkers by Dizzee Rascal and Armand Van Helden slides into No.21 from No.28. Right behind them at No.22 is Flo Rida with Sugar, which is up nine places. Finally, P!nk who is currently in the country touring rocks back into the top 40 at No.33 with her former No.1 single - So What, which is up thirteen places.

OMG! That kind of chart run is pretty much unheard of for an album in the UK! Is there any special reason she's doing so well in Australia or is it just generally cos she has a lot of fans there? Would be interesting if anyone has any sales info, though I guess sales are a lot less than the UK.

Pink will return with single "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)," the singer announced in a video on Tuesday.

"It's very exciting," she said, revealing she co-wrote the provocatively titled track with producer Greg Kurstin ( the Bird and the Bee, Kelly Clarkson).

"I think you're going to like it, because I really like it, and I like it enough for all of us," she said, making a face.

The track will arrive on July 9, with a new album to follow on RCA Records later this year.

Her forthcoming studio set will be her sixth overall and first since 2008's "Funhouse." That release debuted and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart on 2008. It launched five hit singles on the Billboard Hot 100: "So What" (No. 1), "Sober" (No. 15), "Please Don't Leave Me" (No. 17), the title track (No. 44) and "Glitter in the Air" (No. 18). "Funhouse" has sold 1.96 million copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.

She followed up the success of "Funhouse" with her first best-of album, "Greatest Hits . . . So Far!!!," which hit No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and has moved 995,000 units. That album's two singles, "Raise Your Glass" and "F**kin' Perfect," were also big Hot 100 hits. They reached Nos. 1 and 2, respectively.

Coming for that Multiplat. and plat. plaque!!!

60. So What - 580,000
65. Lady Marmalade - 550,000

QUOTE
Pink's Just Give Me A Reason (feat. Nate Ruess) marks time at number two - but after growing for eight weeks in a row, its sales decline by a third to 52,637. Even as it begins to cool, it leapfrogs from seventh to fourth in Pink's all-time best-sellers list, with overall sales of 377,822.

Ahead of it are only the number ones So What from 2008 (581,586 sales), the all-star collaboration Lady Marmalade from 2001 (with Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim and Mya, 548,911 sales) and - perhaps surprisingly - 2010 hit Raise Your Glass, which never climbed above its number 13 debut position but has sold 382,490 copies. Chart peaks aren't always a good indicator of long term sales, and although it peaked 10 places higher than Raise Your Glass, at number three, Pink's William Orbit collaboration Feel Good Time is only her 21st biggest hit, selling just 73,084 copies since its 2003 release. Available on its own digitally only as a 99p offcut from Pink - The Album Collection, it appears to have sold just five copies in the last year.

If Just Give Me a Reason was on 325,185 last week, placing it 7th on her all-time list, it means F*cking Perfect has sold more than 325k at the least.

I make this her Top 10:

01. So What – 581,586 [13 April 2013]

With JGMAR selling a million, we can assume this list includes streaming.

Looking back at page 2 where her whole album sales catalogue was broken down those sales were amazing and now they’ll have only increased given that was 5 years ago wub.gif

Every studio album on sales of over 480K maybe can’t take me homes passed 500K now?

Beautiful Trauma should also be on 500k by year end of 2018. Amazing sales and longevity.

also those single sales are fantastic! Never realised how much Who Knew sold!

Try near 500K as well hope it gets there soon heart.gif

Raise Your Glass has some strong sales for a non top ten outselling most of her top ten hits and even more than her #1 hit (Just Like A Pill).

Beautiful Trauma re enters the album chart at #55
And Greatest Hits So Far at #79

Fantastic to see this platinum.

Not many acts who debuted in 2000 could get a platinum release with a 2019 track but she did that!

And it’s also amazing how she’s managed at least one top ten single with each solo album and even the greatest hits had one too!

A forever relevant icon.

Is there a first week sales thread for UK albums?

I can see what albums from Funhouse to Hurts 2B Human have sold in week one so just the first four albums.

Been interested since I seen Try This outsold In The Zones first week in it’s 2nd week on sale. Always seen it described as the underperforming era when looking at that it actually done really quite well!

25 200,000 [07/20] Revenge (feat. Eminem)
26 200,000 [01/21] Trouble

'Most Girls' and 'Leave Me Alone' are probably #26 and #27.

I've worked out what P!nk's singles are selling each week on average, using previous updates and certifications. Averages are rounded to the nearest 5 copies:

Weekly averages (previous total post-2019)
3,875 Walk Me Home
2,760 Just Give Me a Reason
2,090 So What
2,000 Raise Your Glass
1,930 Lady Marmalade
1,295 Who Knew
1,330 Beautiful Trauma
1,250 What About Us
1,200 A Million Dreams
1,150 Just Like a Pill
1,040 Try
1,000 Fuckin' Perfect
640 Please Don't Leave Me
555 Sober

Weekly averages (previous total pre-2019)
1,040 Just Like Fire
685 Get the Party Started
590 Blow Me (One Last Kiss)
525 True Love
490 U + Ur Hand
430 Don't Let Me Get Me

I've separated the averages with those that last had an updated total before 2019 and after 2019 due to different levels of streaming dominance. For instance, 'U + Ur Hand' was certified Gold in 2015 so it's weekly average in the past couple of years will be higher than the average I've worked out.

I’m always so impressed with Who Knew. It sold 130k in 2006. Such a fantastic song.

Thanks so much for this Liam! I am pleasantly surprised at how well "Walk Me Home" has done and it continues to sell almost 4k a week. ohmy.gif It'll likely pass the million mark sometime next year then?

Walk Me Home is such a good song, I think it was very underrated at its time of release. The video is absolutely amazing.

I noticed 'Don't Let Me Get Me' has just passed 100m views on YouTube - P!nk's 19th video to do so! Thoroughly deserved!

Such a good video! It’s such an inspirational video and song, I’m so glad we had music like that when I was a teenager. I’m not sure what the kids of today have in current music that has the same effect.

Yeah I totally get what you mean. P!nk's songs like this always came from the heart; anything nowadays just seems so forced or generic.

That’s it! And it wasn’t just Pink back then either, loads of female artists (and any artists really) were really tapping into how teenagers were feeling at the time.

I guess that’s what Olivia Rodrigo has done but I can’t stand that song laugh.gif

Totally agree with this, there was such a range back then from the pop stars of Britney, Beyonce to the bubblegum innocent of S Club etc to the more individual angsty punky rock type stars of P!nk and Avril Lavigne. Everything is the same nowadays for kids / teenagers sexualised dance pop with a focus on looking instagram ready. I think the likes of Pink and Avril felt more real for teenagers wheres today's music is generally fake.

2X Platinum now for Raise Your Glass!

I remember at the time it felt quite robbed of not going top ten but it’s outsold quite a lot of her top tens (and even more than one of her #1s).

It’s not amongst my favourites of hers but I can see why it’s done so well over time and it does sound great in a club smile.gif
