Any word of this years track? Always look forward to it. Maybe like last yr they'll just release next Friday or the following?

When the new one is released, their last three singles will all have been Christmas tracks (which also happened in 2009 through 2011). I want them back properly cry.gif

They are currently in the studio recording the new album so yeah

Posted by: steve201 22nd November 2015, 10:48 AM

Don't think it'll get radio 1 support unfort sad.gif

Yes they've finished it and have filmed the video! The final part of the bad santa trilogy feat. Ryan Pardey. They also said they're looking to end the tradition soon - when they have enough for an album (so maybe one more after this one) they'll put it out as a record which will hopefully earn some money for Red.

New album being produced by Flood and Alan Moulder (the producing duo of Sam's Town) if anyones interested!

Which won't be out until late 2016, apparently cry.gif I wish they'd release the Christmas album this year. They've got 10 tracks already which is enough for an album and they could've recorded a couple more if they wanted. Not to mention I haven't been feeling their Christmas singles lately. They all grew on me eventually, but their last AMAZING one was Happy Birthday Guadalupe.

'Cowboy's Christmas Ball' is my fave. But 'Don't Shoot Me Santa' and 'A Great Big Sleigh' are very close behind!

Boots >>>>>

Posted by: steve201 23rd November 2015, 09:50 PM

I wasn't warming to their Xmas singles then They released Boots in 2009 and it was epic, an Xmas classic IMO.

Boots >>>>>Great Big Sled>I Feel it in my Bones>Don't Shoot me Santa>The Cowboys Christmas Ball>Joel>Guadalop>Joseph

Hate the way these tracks don't get support at radio - although the first one GBS is played on radio 1s Xmas playlist and DSMS charted at 33 when it was released, the only one to go top 40. GBS could have went top 10 if it was counted in 2005!

Their new Christmas song is called Dirt Sledding.

It's the last part of the Santa trilogy preceded by Don't Shoot Me Santa and I Feel It In My Bones.

For some reason I likes 'Joel The Lump of Coal' more when I listened to it earlier than I remember last year. It is silly, but sweet. wub.gif

Il maybe have to give it a spin again this yr to see how it's grown over the yr lol

Of course it was silly, but gloriously so. When done well, silly can be good. Joel was silly done well.

Youre right Suedehead, I have heard Joel a bunch of times in my xmas playlist shuffle and it sounds great now lol especially the bits when santa talks.

What does everyone think of Dirt Sledding after a few weeks of playing it? I really am enjoying it.

I'm enjoying it. It has a big chorus and is rather infectious imo. The Killers are most defiantly the soundtrack to my Christmas

Yeh i really like the new one, doesnt beat Great Big Sled or Boots so far tho!

Posted by: gavindeejay 17th December 2015, 10:46 PM

I don't think they'll ever top 'Boots' or 'A Great Big Sled'.

Posted by: Christmaseve201 17th December 2015, 11:29 PM

Boots was unreal, the Wonderful Life lyric and feature being the highlights. Hope this isn't the end of the Xmas releases, hope for the cd next yr too!
