How I compile my charts:

With a few exceptions, I don't go out of my way to seek out new songs - I usually wait until I hear them on the radio. I mainly listen to Radio 1 and for this reason, most (though not all) songs in my chart are those which are played on Radio 1. I don't usually add a song to my chart until it's started gaining some airplay.

Songs generally tend to climb gradually as they grow on me, peak and then fall fast, so the chart looks similar to an 80s/90s singles chart. I also usually get bored of a song within a few weeks, so songs don't generally tend to hang around the chart for more than a few weeks - typically around 9 or 10 weeks for a Number 1.

Great to see 'Secret Love Song' charting - it demanded a single release from the moment I heard it so I'm chuffed it is doing so well with so little promo so far! I think this could really be huge for them; hopefully it'll be performed at the BRITs and show everyone what talented singers they actually are.

Not a fan of 'Out of the Woods'. sad.gif Taylor's has such a strong string of singles this era so it's a shame that this is such a let down.

Hi Jason!

1 - Don't worry it's coming for Top 10 soon!
11 - As good as it is, it doesn't really sound like a big chart hit. Hopefully it will at least make the Top 40 though.
23 - I wasn't a big fan at first but it really is a great song!
29 - No it's not very commercial and I can't see it troubling the charts, it's a great listen though.
31 - I'll have to watch it then biggrin.gif
37 - Yeah I know, he's the worst winner for ages!

Hey Mango, sorry I haven't commented in a while - been so distracted by people's EOYs that I haven't been checking out weekly charts!

Seeing 'Renegades' at #1 here has finally prompted me to listen to it! Don't know why I've been so slow with that one as it's been getting hyped and doing well for ages. Currently replaying it anyway so I'm definitely understanding its appeal. I'm not familiar with any other X Ambassadors tracks but I really like the singer's tone - reminds me of Josef Salvat's at times. wub.gif

I don't see 'Love Yourself' getting much appreciation on Buzzjack, which is understandable with the change in sound from two almost universally popular singles, but I'd rate it higher than 'Sorry' so it's good that you're such a fan too. Certainly the most interesting thing I've heard from him lyrically.

Some great new entries here with 'Out Of The Woods' and 'Youth'. The former hasn't worn on me despite listening to it solidly for over a year and the latter's been quite a grower for me. 'Secret Love Song' is something I find objectively very good (especially the vocals) but I can't get into it at all really and the whole song/release feels a bit too contrived to me. Regardless, I'm enjoying seeing Little Mix go from strength to strength commercially, even if 'Love Me Like You' is the only thing from the era that I can really get behind.

Lots of other good stuff throughout (as usual). Been loving 'Be The One' lately in particular. <3

Agreed about Danny L Harle, it just needs to climb officially now! And yeah contrary to popular opinion I'm liking the DJ Fresh one too!

'Secret Love Song' actually took a while to click with me and to be honest it's only in the last couple of the weeks that I've properly started enjoying it. The vocals are flawless, as I too hope they'll demonstrate at the Brits, and yes I'm equally chuffed (and quite shocked tbh) at how well it's doing with minimal promo. Now that airplay is kicking it, Top 10 looks to be a certainty, and I wouldn't be surprised to eventually see it Top 3.

I agree that 'Out Of The Woods' is probably the weakest of the 1989 singles released so far, but I still quite like it, I always have done really.

'Secret Love Song' is something I find objectively very good (especially the vocals) but I can't get into it at all really and the whole song/release feels a bit too contrived to me. Regardless, I'm enjoying seeing Little Mix go from strength to strength commercially, even if 'Love Me Like You' is the only thing from the era that I can really get behind.

Lots of other good stuff throughout (as usual). Been loving 'Be The One' lately in particular. <3

I don't know if I'd rate 'Love Yourself' above 'Sorry' but they're both fantastic songs in their own right and yeah you're right it does seem to be under-appreciated on Buzzjack!

'Out Of The Woods' is alright, not the best she's released off the album. And regarding 'Secret Love Song' I actually wasn't a big fan when I first heard it on the album but it's really grown on me these past couple of weeks. The vocals are just flawless! And yes it is good to see them doing so well commercially!
