After 6 weeks at the summit, Clean Bandit make way for a new #1 this week which comes in the shape of yet another 3 respectable artists. Chart Commentary
A big thank you to all those 11 of you who commented on last week's personal chart, including Danta Claus, Jason, Sven10, Nick F1, WiseManFromLeeds, Dobbo, toffonews, 360Jupiter, Santas Haz, Steve201 and Taylor Jago. biggrin.gif

Rockabye has been this years longest standing #1 in the Top 40 Countdown by awardinary. 6 weeks it managed it, preventing artists like Jonas Blue and Cheat Codes from having a #1. But the latter is now at the top thanks to production by Robin Schulz & David Guetta. Shed A Light should be, and deserves to be, a big hit on the official charts in 2017. Both DJ's have proven thy are capable of producing big hits, and this collaboration is markedly an anthem waiting to happen!

Naughty Boy climbs one place as Britney Spears and Jonas Blue drop places. Alma retains her spot at #5 this week. Also climbing one place is Starboy whose popularity prevents I Feel It Coming from entering the Top 40 Countdown. Entering the Top 10 for the first time this week is The xx and Bruno Mars. Little Mix have the highest new entry this week with Touch which enters at #10.

Falling outside the Top 10 after 14 weeks is Rφyksopp. New entries from Machine Gun Kelly and The Chainsmokers enter just outside the Top 10. Both songs look to do well in the new year. At #20 we find British pioneers Coldplay with their single Everglow. The final new entry this week comes from another collaboration, this time between Sigala & Digital Farm Animals. Only One is the final new entry this week which comes just outside the Top 20.

Some very long chart runs come to a climax this week as we say goodbye to The Mack and Crank It (Whoa). Both songs managed over 10 weeks in the Top 40.
Matoma & Gia, Peking Duk and Martin Solveig complete the casualty list for Christmas week.

Please continue to show your support and I thank you for checking out my personal chart this week! biggrin.gif

Hey Pete,

Thanks for your approval of my #1. cheer.gif

Only One is actually sounding pretty good right now, even if it does resemble work by Galantis. laugh.gif

I do like the Matoma track, but yeah it didn't last long in my chart, maybe it will get some airplay in 2017. smile.gif

Thanks for commenting. cool.gif

Hi awardinary

Really enjoying your #1 song atm, those strings especially dancing.gif

Touch entering your top 10 is pleasing, definitely one of my fave songs by them even at this early stage!

Big fan of Bad Things too, Camila is doing the right thing leaving 5H with features like that.

And good to see Only One enter, not his best but it's still so much fun.

Hi Dobbo,

I'm glad you also approve of my #1 song. It's quite catchy isn't it. biggrin.gif

Touch should have a long chart run here I imagine. smile.gif

Interestingly, until you made that comment, I didn't realise Camila was in Fifth Harmony, nor that she left the group this month. ohmy.gif

Only One is not his best, you're right, but maybe we'll get some fresh material next year to enjoy. music.gif

Thanks for commenting. cool.gif
