All British horse racing meetings on Thursday have been cancelled because of an outbreak of equine flu.

Wolverhampton Racecourse has said its meeting on Saturday will not take place as a horse from the infected yard ran there this week and a deep clean has been ordered. Racing is not permitted for four days afterwards.

Understood to be from Donald McCain's yard where the three infected horses raced at Ayr and Ludlow.

More than 100 yards have been placed into lockdown by the BHA for testing following the outbreak of equine flu. They include Nicky Henderson and Paul Nicholls.

Racing across Britain has been suspended until at least Wednesday, February 13 as the BHA seeks to confine the equine influenza outbreak that has paralysed the sport.

The BHA report three more positives for equine influenza at Donald McCain's yard.

There is also a further unrelated suspicious case from a yard that raced at Newcastle on Tuesday & Wolverhampton on Wednesday.

The British Horseracing Authority will make a decision on Monday evening whether racing can resume on Wednesday following an outbreak of equine flu.

Laurina won comfortably at Punchestown to cement her place in the Champion Hurdle. Not sure if she could beat Apple's Jade or Buveur d'Air.

Might Bite back in business and should be feared in Gold Cup according to Nicky Henderson, well he has been disappointing in the two runs he has had which were in the Betfair Chase and King George VI Chase.

Jockey Dylan Robinson has been banned for three years after testing positive for cocaine.

The drug, banned under the rules of racing, was found in a sample of Robinson's urine taken at Galway on 9 October.
