YAY for decent odds for myself though. I really have no idea what to expect of this song as I imagine it'll be something people either LOVE or don't like at all. Nice to start the predictions for it on a positive note tho ~

'Avenir' definitely sounds like a big hit to me, not sure if it's a WINNER but it's extremely catchy and fun ~ and well if a pure pop song appeals to ME of all people surely it's got that wide appeal in the bag? (Oops thought that about 'Muevelo'). Regardless I'd say top 5 for sure.

Zechonia's song is actually really good this month but it does seem like he's almost trying to come last in the semi again

I think it might be a pretty unpredictable contest with so many entries and people in the mix, at least I hope so because with the caveat that I haven't listened to the other entries, I think I can be doing better than 40/1 for Lightshy.

Uh yeah, not trying to knock your odds because the top end looks good from what I don't know about the songs yet, I'm just too far towards the bottom for my liking.

Cannae really be arsed with odds, but for my $$$ the contenders are probably: ME (through supreme cheapness once again), Rontvia, D'yermak'er, Aeroche (because anything more than one month out of the game is unthinkable), Hushkanukia and Daehun.

Thankfully nobody has voted yet so I can say all this totally unbiased and therefore totally incorrectly.

Hushkanukia really COULD dark horse this. Doesn't sound like a traditional BJSC winner but it has plenty of vocal support already and could blitz it with a generous handful of 12s. Would make up for Hushkanukia's opening run of DNQs for sure

If it does I will be kicking myself for not sending it last month (although realistically I was never going to over Porcelain, just having ANOTHER winner slip away from me would be mildly frustrating, and I say like that it's a common occurrence but it used to be back in the days of 2013, and if not winners, then hits at least). Saw the hit potential from the off though so I could imagine it doing very very well and I would be very happy for it and Hush!

Cue people moaning (these odds are definitely NOT based on my personal opinion (apart from maybe a bit which I cannae avoid), loads of my faves are towards the middle / lower end ~)

I don't really see an obvious winner this month so I'm taking a punt on PVRIS just because I expect they will pick up quite a lot of 12s. And I have no clue how to rate my own chances so I'm just inserting myself midtable and hope to be surprised.

I'm really not sensing Phoebe as one that will do that well, probably 12-16 range in the final. It's very good (I considered it myself), but there are other songs to eat up the big pop points this contest.

I actually initially had Phoebe below the line but then realised I really liked all the songs above the line, whereas I haven't really liked many of the winners recently, so I thought I'd put a less good one there to cover myself for that happening again

In all seriousness though Phoebe Ryan should have similar appeal to Alida I'd think, and she came within touching distance of the win.

And yeah you probably will do well but if I put you any higher that'd literally just be me being swayed by other people saying it'll do well when I don't think it sounds like a particularly big hit so I'd rather be honest and wrong than right and a sheep (This also applies to Altyr Muunilinst because I just don't get why there is any hype at all around such a lifeless version of 'Show Me Love', I love the original version but this one just does nothing for me and I feel I can't be alone on this. Bear in mind I say similar about NEARLY ALL Altyr entries that get hype and I'm usually wrong).

My odds for both songs will probably shorten significantly for the final anyway DW ~

I claim Ulf Nilsson as my payback for Truls BTW. Don't think I've forgotten you gave that ~30/1 to begin with

It's good to see some brave odds, though!
If odds are for winning the whole contest, it's normal that only a handful of entries can win. 40/1 and 180/1 means basically the same, there's no way that song wins the final. We can sugarcoat the facts with nicer numbers, but if you're not in the top 6-10, it means (according to that poster) you have no chance of winning (which is not an insult in my reading, as only only one song will win).

No hard feelings either, admittedly Truls was very much a case of me wrongly projecting my personal taste of that song onto the odds. In the first instance at least, I'm sure I boosted it right up in my final odds once the hype became too hot to ignore! (I could be wrong though, I haven't checked back)!

I was surprised Ulf managed to beat MYNGA too to be fair! I was expecting about 10th-12th for it iirc.

Adonia's current entry is giving me strong Ulf vibes so fingers crossed it can do similar things. So much better than the original of that song, which I never really got into.

I have decided I was a bit unduly harsh on PRoJ and Numayania. They still both sound like pretty much no-hopers but maybe 200 and 300/1 was taking it a bit too far. Also put Tinnmark and Usfland's odds up a bit. I am sticking to my guns with the rest for now but watch for some big shortenings when I decide to listen to hype a bit more in the final

Adonia is probably another one where my personal NOT-GETTING-NESS is getting in the way a bit, the comparison to Ulf Nilsson is quite apt. I could see it having the same appeal that did i.e. not to me at all but to enough others to do well. Sorry for the initial shit odds Math ~

you shouldn't have to apologise for odds that you thought were correct at the time you posted. at the end of the day they're your odds bré and it's an online song contest. obviously it's nice and polite to say sorry for perhaps underestimating someone but you shouldn't have to feel bad about it.

I seem to remember somebody suggested something similar a long while ago, but wouldn't it be interesting for one contest to not have any odds and predictions posted publicly (maybe just sent to a host or a designated person privately) and let the contest play out with nobody having any indication of what each other think is going to happen! Then at the end that person could post the overall odds/predictions to see how right or wrong we all were.

It'd probably be too difficult to control but in theory it would be very interesting!

And I don't really feel bad about it Callum, just mildly annoyed that (nearly) all the people that responded to my odds are the same people who I gave relatively bad odds These odds don't really mean anything ofc.

I've never had good odds, and usually they are among the worst, and I usually don't qualify, so not that inaccurate, but I always enjoy flicking through them to confirm how badly I'm going to do.

Ramrynia seems like the only track I'm confident of putting above any 'line' (if I did one I might do it all the way down to 20-ish/1 this time) and even then I'm not sure if it sounds like a massive winner. The next lot will surely have a good fanbase behind them but again, hard to pick out one that will storm it. Very happy to see my track doing quite well on RontBet though so that's emboldened me to put it up a bit here.

I think 'Yoohoo' sounds like a big hit. Then again I thought that about 'Fiji' too so maybe this is just the year of Aeroche backlash. (And no I don't just think every Leww song sounds like a big hit, I am a BIT more discerning than that ~)

Ashton are my dark horses of the contest, I would consider them as potential winners but I think votes will split between Ashton and Hendinia. I'm going the top three being Altyr , Daehun and Aeroche with D'yermaker also being a very strong contender. Ryan will miss the top 5 imo.

I was going to force myself to put Altyr a bit higher but yanno what, I was right to put FSR and Adonia low in my semi odds so I'm gonna stick with my guns here as well. I'm sure it'll be safely top 10 anyway.

PVRIS are emerging as a fairly clear favourite in my eyes. I take back naming that the dark horse and now give that honour to Utopia. I'm a lot more confident in my chances of success now I made it through the semi though not going to go as far as to place myself in the top ten of my odds.
