It's that time again. Two months to go before the shortlist is announced so time to start thinking about who might make the list this year. After last year's underwhelmingly safe list will the WTF category return this year?

Current odds - bear in mind that bookies will quote odds on any act if somebody is prepared to bet on them so there are some total no-hopers on the list.
Jungle 8-1 Damon Albarn 10-1 Wild Beasts 10-1 East India Youth 10-1 CHVRCHES 12-1 Kate Tempest 12-1 La Roux 14-1 Sam Smith 16-1 Young Fathers 16-1 London Grammar 16-1 (AFAIAW their current album is not eligible) FKA Twigs 16-1 Elbow 20-1 Eagulls 20-1 Mica Levi 20-1 The Horrors 25-1 Temples 25-1 George Ezra 25-1 Florence + The Machine 25-1 (Some people obviously banking on a surprise release) Gruff Rhys 25-1 Bombay Bicycle Club 25-1 |

I am wholeheartedly behind La Roux getting the recognition that 'Trouble in Paradise' demands.

This is the first year that there's not really any albums that I really think should make the list. I wouldn't mind seeing Wild Beasts get nominated, and Temples would be nice, but there hasn't been many UK/Eire albums that have really blown me away this year.
With the exception of 'Rocky' by Wonder Villains of course, but I very much doubt they put themselves forward for the award. |

There is nothing that really stands out as an album that should be on the list |

I'd love to see Gruff Rhys in the nominations and King Creosote's 'From Scotland with Love' would be nice, but probably a bit too Scottish for the panel's tastes.
We have our own prize anyway. |

FKA to win please. Although maybe that's the 'obvious' win this time?
