Performing and recording under the name R3hab, EDM artist Fadil El Ghoul started his career in 2008 producing the track "Mrkrstft" for Hardwell. He teamed up with Hardwell once again in 2009 on the single "Blue Magic," and worked with Afrojack in 2011 on "Aces High (Prutata)." Later that year, and during 2012, he was commissioned to remix artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, Katy Perry, and more. By this point he had accumulated a large discography, releasing material on many labels including Afrojack's Wall Recordings and the German label Tiger Records, but it was with Spinnin' Records that he developed the closest relationship. This eventually led to "Revolution," a 2013 collaboration with Nervo and Ummet Ozcan on the label that reached the Top 40 of the U.K. singles chart. I Need R3Hab, his weekly radio show on SiriusXM, subsequently gained in popularity, during a year that began with a third International Dance Music Award and ended with a Steve Aoki collaboration on the single "Flight." Biography - Ciara
Dubbed early on as "the First Lady of Crunk & B" by the producer who knew, Lil Jon, singer Ciara was born in Austin, Texas, but with her father in the Army, she spent time living in Germany, New York, California, Arizona, and Nevada before landing in Atlanta, Georgia. In her early teens, she got a piece of paper out and wrote down her life's goal, to become a professional singer. She joined a girl group, worked on her songwriting, left the group, landed a publishing deal, and found a "music soul mate" when she met producer Jazze Pha. With Sean Garrett, the co-writer of Usher's massive hit "Yeah!," Ciara co-wrote "Goodies," and when Lil Jon heard the demo, he knew it was going to be big. LaFace released the Lil Jon-produced track in the summer of 2004, and its quick climb to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 was remarkable. With help from Pha, Garrett, and Lil Jon, Ciara released her self-titled debut in September of the same year. The follow-up singles "1, 2 Step," featuring Missy Elliott, and "Oh," featuring Ludacris, both broke the Top Five in the U.S. in 2005. By the end of the year she'd joined Gwen Stefani on tour before teaming with Bow Wow and Chris Brown for a package tour in early 2006. While Ciara's popularity had already peaked, she gradually built a sturdy discography and churned out major hit singles on an occasional basis. Biography
London-based singer/songwriter Lewis Watson got his start in music while still a teenager by quietly uploading cover versions of his favorite songs to a sleepy YouTube account in 2010. The singer's spare acoustic guitar complemented his booming and slightly soulful voice on covers of tunes by the Knife, Bombay Bicycle Club, Bon Iver, and others, and before long he was uploading his own original compositions to great response. Watson began playing out in support of larger acts, and after a gig with his former music teacher Joe Porter, Porter offered up his production services in the recording of Watson's first studio material. The speedy sessions yielded four songs that were eventually released as the cheekily titled EP It's Got Four Sad Songs on It BTW. The buzz surrounding the 2012 release of the EP was enough to have numerous record labels knocking on Watson's door, eventually landing him a contract with Warner Bros. and hurling him into the world of festival performances, Billboard charts, and an ever-growing fan base. Response was so strong to the first EP that a second, Another Four Sad Songs, followed just months afterwards. Things moved quickly and Watson worked tirelessly on a third EP, this time aided by big-ticket songwriters and producers including Richard Wilkinson (Kaiser Chiefs), Mr. Hudson, and collaborators of Arctic Monkeys, Florence and the Machine, and many others. In early 2013 this third EP, Wild, was released. It, too, contained four sad songs, but revealed a heightened confidence and glossier production values than Watson's first two releases. Two more EPs followed in 2013, and Watson's debut full-length album, The Morning, was finally scheduled for release in July of the following year, boasting a much more full-bodied production than before; it also came in a Deluxe Edition that contained every song Watson had ever released. - iTunes

The 1975 are a British rock band formed in Manchester. The group consists of Matthew Healy (vocals, guitar), Adam Hann (guitar), George Daniel (drums, backing vocals), and Ross MacDonald (bass).

Biography
Rudimental are an English drum and bass band who are signed to Asylum Records and independent label Black Butter. The quartet consists of Piers Agget, Amir Amor, Kesi Dryden and DJ Locksmith (Leon Rolle).

They were nominated for a Mercury Prize in 2013, and won several awards including the Brit Award, and the Mobo Award for Best Album. Rudimental also received nominations at the MTV Europe Music Awards for Best New Act, and Best UK and Ireland act. Rudimental have achieved multiple Platinum awards for record sales in several countries including in the United Kingdom and Australia.

The group rose to prominence in 2012 when their single "Feel the Love", featuring singer John Newman, topped the UK Singles Chart, and for which they were also nominated for a BRIT Award in 2013. "Feel the Love" was also used for the opening credits of the 2013 documentary movie Spark: A Burning Man Story.

The group have released further singles, including "Not Giving In" (featuring Newman and Alex Clare) and 2013 single "Waiting All Night" (featuring Ella Eyre) which also topped the chart in the UK. Aubrey Drake Graham (born October 24, 1986) is a Canadian rapper, singer, songwriter and actor. He was born in Toronto, Ontario. He first garnered recognition for his role as Jimmy Brooks on the television series Degrassi: The Next Generation. He later rose to prominence as a rapper, releasing several mixtapes before signing to Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment in June 2009.

Drake's EP, So Far Gone (2009), spawned singles "Best I Ever Had" and "Successful". Biography
Elena Jane "Ellie" Goulding (born 30 December 1986) is an English singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Lyonshall, Herefordshire. Her career began when she met record producer Starsmith and Frankmusik, and she was later spotted by Jamie Lillywhite, who later became her manager and A&R. After signing to Polydor Records in July 2009, Goulding released her debut extended play, An Introduction to Ellie Goulding, later that year.

In 2010, she became the second artist to both top the BBC's annual Sound of... poll and win the Critics' Choice Award at the Brit Awards in the same year. Goulding released her debut studio album, Lights, in 2010. The album debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and has sold over 850,000 copies in the UK. Her cover of Elton John's "Your Song" reached number two in the UK in December 2010 and on 29 April 2011 she performed the song at the wedding reception of Prince William and Catherine Middleton at Buckingham Palace. The album's title track, "Lights", was released in the US in March 2011, and peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Goulding's second album Halcyon was released in October 2012, "Anything Could Happen" preceded the album as the lead single. Halcyon debuted at number two on the UK Albums Chart, and, after 65 weeks, reached number one. Halcyon debuted at number nine on the Billboard 200 Chart, her first top ten debut in the United States. Halcyon Days, a repackaged edition of Halcyon, was released on 23 August 2013, it included new singles including "Burn", which became her first UK number-one single in the same month. Biography
France's David Guetta belongs to the sparkling wave of DJs who combine Daft Punk's sleek house music with a pinch of electroclash's punch. Guetta had been DJ'ing around France playing popular tunes, but his brain was particularly rewired in 1987 when he heard a Farley Jackmaster Funk track on French radio. He taped the track, brought a copy to a gig, and promptly cleared the floor with it during one of his own sets. Things loosened up a year later when acid house came to France and Guetta successfully promoted his own club nights. It was during one of those nights in 1992 that he met Robert Owens, a Chicago-based house legend who was touring across Europe at the time. Guetta played Owens some of his own tracks, and Owens picked one he liked enough to sing over. The result was "Up and Away," a minor hit that lurked in garage DJ crates for the next four years. Guetta's carefree attitude -- that he only produces good music while he's having casual fun -- kept the DJ from releasing anything until 2001's "Just a Little More Love." The track featured American gospel singer Chris Willis, who met Guetta while on vacation in France. Another slow burner, "Just a Little More Love," kept popping up in sets for the next two years, first in an electro version and later in a pumped-up Wally Lopez remix. During this time, Guetta snuck out a bootleg remix of David Bowie's "Heroes," retitled "Just for One Day." Bowie gave the go-ahead to release the track officially, and Guetta soon had a massive hit on his hands. Guetta featured the liberated boot on his first mix CD, f*** Me I'm Famous, named after Guetta's successful Ibiza-based party. The fun-loving slacker DJ finally got around to releasing a collection of his own productions in 2004, Just a Little More Love on Astralwerks. Guetta Blaster arrived that same year, followed by Poplife in 2007. Chris Willis sang lead vocals on the latter album, which spun off multiple dance singles in multiple countries. f*** Me I'm Famous: International, Vol. 2 was then released in July 2008, giving listeners a taste of the stylish sounds that orchestrated Guetta's summer club events in Ibiza. A year later he released One Love, a platinum-selling album featuring the singles "When Love Takes Over" with Kelly Rowland, "Sexy Bitch" with Akon, and "Gettin' Over" with Chris Willis. In 2010, Guetta received five nominations at the 52nd Grammy Awards, two of them related to the One Love album and the other three for his work on the Black Eyed Peas' massive worldwide hit "I Gotta Feeling." That same year, One Love was reissued as One More Love, featuring a bonus disc of remixes and new tracks. A superstar guest list -- featuring Akon, Lil Wayne, Flo Rida, Usher, Chris Brown, and others -- would figure into his 2011 release, Nothing But the Beat, but this time the DJ's songwriting was inspired by dramatic rock bands like Coldplay. Biography
Years & Years is an English electronica trio founded in London, England. The group consists of frontman and keyboardist Olly Alexander, bassist Mikey Goldsworthy and synth player Emre Turkmen. Years & Years' music has been described as electropop, mixing R&B and '90s house elements, with Flying Lotus, Diplo, Radiohead and Jai Paul being their core influences.

Take Me Home is still beautiful
Can't Feel My Face needs to go away! Same for Lay It All On Me and How Deep Is Your Love and The Hills. One of the 1st times I've been thankful for no top 40 in ages
The Sound is dreadful and Hotline Bling is horrific and so is Shut Up- thank gosh that is out of the top 25
Here is good but still don't really love it

Fantastic to see Chandelier back, such an incredible track Hoping Unstoppable and Move Your Body can become hits from her latest album and she gets to #1 with it today

I'm so, so pleased that One Call Away made the top 40, eventually. I don't know why it was supported by Radio 2 and Radio 1/Capital at totally different times, but it's head and shoulders above anything else Charlie has done, so yay him!

I'm not overly fond of this Drake song, but at least it's not a horrendously annoying piece of monotony like 'Hotline Bling' is.

I do think 'Summer Sixteen' is only doing so well initially because it's coming off the back of 'Hotline Bling'. Remember that song took a few weeks to get going, but now Drake is very much in the forefront of music consumers' minds.

Biography
Singer and songwriter (and occasional actor) Elle King was born Tanner Elle Schneider in 1989 in Los Angeles, the daughter of London King and Rob Schneider (the actor and comedian and former cast member of Saturday Night Live). She grew up in Ohio, and after hearing the all-girl pop-punk band the Donnas when she was nine years old, she decided she wanted to be a singer and musician. By 13 she was playing guitar, and later learned to play the banjo as well. King began street busking and gigging around New York at the age of 16, moving to Philadelphia to attend the University of Arts, majoring in painting and film. Lush Life is fairly good. I've always been a bit apprehensive with Zara after Uncover got boring very very quickly for me and little else I heard was that good, but she's redeemed herself with Never Forget You and it's great to see a Swedish popstar make some traction in the UK anyway.

With a knack for finding new angles to tried-and-true R&B trends, Jason Derulo launched his career while still in his teens, first as a songwriter for other artists and later as a solo performer. Born to Haitian parents in Miramar, Florida, he started singing at an early age. He attended performing arts schools in Florida and took some early stabs at music composition, writing his first song at the age of eight. His writing skills began attracting attention, and by his teenage years, Derulo had begun composing tracks for artists like Lil Wayne, Pitbull, and Pleasure P. He also wrote "Bossy" for Birdman, a New Orleans-based rapper, and made a guest appearance on the song, highlighting his ability as a vocalist.

I absolutely love Secret Love Song, but I'm glad it's not top 10, because they made the video UK-only because it gives it less of a chance of surpassing Black Magic's top 10 weeks and because that means When The Bassline Drops has made the top 10 (I don't really like When The Bassline Drops but this was its last chance, Secret Love Song has a long top 10 run ahead).

It is nice seeing Bieber finally falling away a bit, it was mainly due to him that it felt like I was listening to the same ten songs in the top 10 for months on end.

Biography
From the free-living enclave of Christiania in Copenhagen, Lukas Graham and his boys -- Mark "Lovestick" Falgren on drums, Kasper Daugaard on keys, and Magnus "Magnum" Larsson on bass -- crafted a combination of funky pop and R&B stylings, which made them popular in their home country of Denmark. It's fairly pleasant at best but not something I'd choose to listen to at all and the lyrics are so annoyingly convoluted and overly sentimental.
