The notorious pressure-cooker, the Championship playoffs, start tonight. For the winner, the riches and prestige of the Premier League await.
Four teams remain; Norwich, Middlesbrough, Brentford and Ipswich. Norwich have perhaps the best squad and have had an impressive second half of the season. Middlesbrough have produced some eye-catching results, notably winning at Manchester City in the FA Cup. Brentford are arguably the romantic choice, but their manager will be leaving at the end of the season regardless. Ipswich are a side in the image of their manager, Mick McCarthy. They do have a striker in hot form in Freddie Sears. Ipswich v Norwich Brentford v Middlesbrough |

Most likely that the winner will be Norwich City with their form they had going until the end of the season.
I would love to see Brentford get promoted though. |

I'd bet on Norwich too, they seem to have the best squad from what I can see. I'm rooting for Boro though, there's something I enjoy about Newcastle/Sunderland/Middlesborough and them all being in the Prem (if Newcastle/Sunderland stay up this season that is!)

I think it'll be Norwich too but I want to see Brentford do it!

Same as Ultra, I have a feeling Norwich might choke.
Brentford would be great to have in the Prem, 2 completely new teams to the division next season. |

Middlesbrough with the early advantage thanks to a injury-time winner against Brentford.
One of the biggest East Anglian derbies this afternoon. Potential for a few cards and possibly a sending off. |

Being from Ipswich I'd love them to be promoted, they were previously promoted through the play-offs too. I have a feeling it'll be Norwich though.

At least in the play-offs. Away goals do not count.
Easily the second leg of the Norwich/ Ipswich match will be one of the biggest East Anglian derbies since the 1985 League Cup semi-finals. Too close to call there. I can see Middlesbrough maintaining their one-goal lead against Brentford. Although I hope I'm proved wrong as I would love to see Brentford get promoted. |

I'd like Brentford or Norwich to get promoted. I think Boro will end up doing it though.

I think Middlesbrough would have the best chance of thriving in the Premier League and the games against Newcastle and Sunderland would make a welcome return to the division.
Ipswich Norwich was typically scrappy and well fought. You'd think that Norwich's quality will win out but anybody underestimating Ipswich could be in for a rude awakening. They've been away from the Premier League for too long now (2002). |

Tonight sees the second leg between Middlesbrough and Brentford. With Middlesbrough with a one-goal advantage over Brentford.
How do people see this going? I think it will be a 2-1 win to Middlesbrough although I hope I'm proved wrong and Brentford prevail. |

The dream for Brentford will and truly over. As Middlesbrough are 3-0 up and 5-1 on aggregate. Probably one game too many for a few Brentford players.

Middlesbrough v Norwich final then. The final most people would have predicted and the two teams who narrowly missed out on automatic promotion.
Quite close to call. Predictions? |

I think it will be a very close game. I'll say a 1-0 win to Norwich City.

Will anyone be watching Monday's play-off match between these two?
Wembley Stadium had to apologise after spelling Middlesbrough wrong on the tickets. |

Lul wat? How on earth could something as high profile as this make that error?! Baffling...
Anyway yes I imagine I will be watching as this effectively is a match with a direct effect on the forthcoming PL season. Not sure who I'd rather win though, neither really. |
