Starting tomorrow at 9pm on BBC1, The Replacement is a tense 3 part thriller set in Glasgow and is the story of pregnant architect Ellen who has to go on maternity leave and appoints Paula as temporary cover. All seems fine at first until she starts moving in on Ellen's friends, family, clients and personal life. Does she though or is it all in Ellen's imagination?

I actually thought the trailer was odd, made it seem a lot more dramatic than what it actually shows. I'm hoping its a case of it was setting the tone for the show but they didn't want to give much away! I'll be giving it a try anyway thanks to Vicky McClure!

This was actually quite good I was gripped from start to finish, but I didn't see that ending coming. Can't wait for the next episode, totally recommend it

Yes, bit slow to start with but then picked up and was good. Wonder if she was pushed off the roof?

I just hope we get a proper conclusion with everything explained and nothing left up in the air for us to wonder about.

This has been a lot better than I had initially expected. Not excellent by any means but it has done a great job of keeping things engaging and tense as we delve deeper in understanding Paula's motivations. Very excited to see it all unravel in tonight's episode!

I'm going to guess that Paula lost her child in some way, maybe through a miscarriage or later down the line, that kid is definitely not her by any means! Possibly Ellen was involved in some way which is why she's targeting her, I'm not sure.

Enjoyed the last episode but a lot on other forums are saying it was a let-down after the first two great episodes and far-fetched with her taking tablets then managing to get out of the car. It's assumed that Paula handed herself in. I really thought they were going to arrest Ellen and Paula was going to get away with it! Several endings were apparently considered by the writers, according to an article posted at 9.59 last night on the BBC website. They were going to have the killer be Paula's daughter, who had actually survived but thought it was too far-fetched.

That ending was absolutey appalling. It's like the writer just gave up towards the end.

Are we seriously supposed to believe that Ellen, who downed a bunch of pills, miraculously woke up, hotwired an airbag, and drove to the exact place her baby was even though Paula didn't directly tell her where she was being held? Embarrassing.

The writer has come out and said "But then in that hallucinatory experience she sort of has a very good guess and realises that’s where the child is, in the library, because Paula says things like, 'I’ll take her back there' and gives a couple of unconscious clues about where the child is."

So she had a "very good guess" and remembered those "unconscious clues" even though she was drugged up? Just f*** off.

Regarding Paula, all he's said is that he hopes "she's got the help she needs"..............okay?

Ugh. No words to describe what a colossal disappointment that turned out to be.

I loved everything about this until the final 10 minutes. What a damp squib. It's as if dramas are incapable of delivering satisfactory conclusions. I'm quite worried about what the last episode of Broadchurch is going to be like as I've loved all episodes of that so far.

The ending was really disappointing - it was really building to something better than that. Such a shame!

Probably THE shittest ending for a TV show ever? Perhaps rivalling The Missing (first series, which is why I didn't bother afterwards).

Shame as I thoroughly enjoyed the rest of it, quite tense and gripping.

I agree that the ending to the first series of The Missing was shit but omg you really missed out if you didn't watch the second series! It was SO much better overall and resolved the errors it made in the first series.

OMG YES THIS.

I absolutely hated the first series so I kinda dreaded the second, but oh my GOD what an absolute turnaround. I still actually find myself thinking about everything that happened throughout the second series even though its been finished for months. It was THAT good!
