I switched over from the chart update to see what I thought would be the last ball. It took another 30 minutes before it was all over

I'm not sure I have any understanding of how Cricket scoring works lmao, but that was an extremely tense last moment and what an amazing achievement for us! Wonderful day for British sport *.*

What an unbelievable game! I was flicking between concentrating on Wimbledon and the cricket and I won't lie, when Buttler got caufght out I thought that is us done now. Bloody hell what an intense finish and the super over was something else, especially when we gave a wide in the very first ball.
Cricket gets a load of stick for being boring, but the 50 overs cricket can be anything but boring. I think it's great the final was on terrestrial TV, it's these moments, like the Ashes in 2005 that inspire people to start playing it. |

Fantastic that one of the greatest England moments in cricket was shown in terrestrial TV. Also looking forward to seeing England back on the BBC next year with a live T20 international. The Ashes 2005 that was a great series, this final well you couldn't make it up.

What an extraordinary match that was. Stokes and Buttler's partnership really turned things around for England but they were very lucky in the last over when the New Zealand fielder's throw to run out Stokes hit his bat and ricocheted for an extra four runs. New Zealand would have won if that didn't happen.
A tied match and then a tied super over! England win on most fours scored. A really tense finish to what has been a great World Cup. |

This means England are the first - and obviously so far, the only - country to have won the three major global field sports tournaments. FIFA World Cup, Rugby World Cup and ICC Cricket World Cup. No other country has achieved this and I can't see anybody else ever doing it.

That has to be the greatest and most dramatic game of cricket of all time, it had absolutely everything you want in a World Cup final. That run out is going to be one of the GREATEST and one of the most ICONIC moments in English sporting history!
Winning the World Cup and The Ashes in the same year would be f***ing EPIC! |
