This was a really strong year actually in my opinion, the four that I've seen would all be deserving winners tbh.

1 Hugh Jackman "Les Misérables"
2 Joaquin Phoenix "The Master"
3 Daniel Day-Lewis "Lincoln"
4 Bradley Cooper "Silver Linings Playbook"

Not seen Flight but I'm never really impressed with Denzel Washington very often anyway, would probably fill up my top five with Ben Affleck for Argo (like the BAFTAs) or Anthony Hopkins for Hitchcock but neither were amazing really.

I think Hugh Jackman makes Les Mis the great film it is and he's incredibly watchable as Valjean, a very competent singer too. The top four are all really tight for me actually but I think I'd put Phoenix second, it's actually the most impressive role I've seen him in and think he might have had more of a chance at winning this year if he didn't have such public distaste for awards. I only really enjoyed Lincoln for the acting and of course Day-Lewis was the highlight of the movie but idk if he needs three Oscars from only five nominations... Bradley Cooper was just as good as Lawrence imo so that fact she won for me and he only comes fourth is testament to how strong this category is, he acted the social awkwardness really well and would still be my winner in most other years this decade.
