AMAZING NEWS

I still need to watch the bluray versions. 2016 though sad.gif I at least hope it's JANUARY 2016.

Posted by: J▼hnkm 6th October 2014, 05:52 PM

Being honest I would love for it to be 25 years to do the day the episode with the line ''See you all again in 25 years'' aired.

Posted by: Cal 6th October 2014, 07:50 PM

It's happening again. *.*

So excited! I really hope they manage to get most of the cast back. AUDREY HORNE. wub.gif

I shall have some cherry pie and some damned fine coffee ready.

I was actually chatting with THE FAM earlier about this and, despite having stated they would never ever watch it, they have agreed to watch it. Not that I needed an excuse to do so again, but it's always nice to watch with other people.

I think they're going for it exactly. Especially if that line was in an episode from 1991.

I'd LOVE to see how they manage to TWIN PEAKS up the new season.

(Still to watch the series but I know who killed whom and all of the important deets already sad.gif )

Picked up the Box Set today.

Really unsure if this is a good idea or not. I love Twin peaks but it was very much of its time and I'm not convinced it'll be the same.

However it's David Lynch so maybe.

So after the on-off-on again-off again-on again again mess a few months back we ended up with this being expanded to 18 episodes. Now Mark Frost has said it won't be arriving until 2017. What a mess.

That's a shame. I did like the idea of it being "25 years later".

I'm so late to Twin Peaks! (which I keep writing as Twink Peaks, oops 👀). I started watching earlier this year, and got to a few episodes into Season 2 before I prioritised watching modern day stuff. Time to get back to it! Unfortunately I already know who the killer is due to accidentally reading it on Wikipedia (I was reading a particular Season 1 episode page, so I didn't expect it'd have the main spoiler written there sob.gif ).

S2 is pretty divisive in general, especially the middle section but I love it because it's just BATSHIT for the most part. There are a couple of threads in particular that are among my favourite ever on any TV show and only about 40% of that is because they are ANY GOOD.

Premieres May 21st!

Can't wait!! Even hearing the music on the trailer I get on my TV gets me so spooked out and apprehensive about it all. This could literally be amazing or the worst thing ever BRING IT ON.

I'm excited for this now. Season 1 was the best thing ever on TV and it remains my favourite show of all time (although Game Of Thrones might still edge it if it keeps the quality up to the end).

Just watched the full extended 3.5 hours of unrelenting misery that is Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me (which is so much better than the original cut) and am now ready to re-watch seasons 1 & 2 in time for its comeback.

Posted by: Cremey 17th May 2017, 09:28 PM

Can't wait for this!
I've been meaning to watch the series for YEARS but have finally got around to it in time for this.
Just finished season two and oh my LORD at that ending. Loved it. I haven't seen 'Fire Walk With Me' yet but I'll watch that before I see any of this new series, just to make sure I'm not missing out on anything.

So many great characters and storylines. Seriously, what a show heart.gif

Pretty much geared up for this on Monday, Twin Peaks is my all time favourite TV series, back in the day I was glued to the series, recently I just watched series 2, to bring me bang up to date, its such an iconic TV show.

If you do watch Fire Walk With Me I'd recommend hunting down the fan edit. it's 3.5 hours long but much better than the theatrical cut. Lynch had to remove so many scenes that featured the characters not central to Laura's final days and the result is a VERY dark film that left a lot of fans unhappy. The fan edit puts in nearly all of those deleted scenes and makes it feel more like the show. Having said that it is still a film of prolonged misery as befits the subject matter, but it has a few lighter moments now and then.

Plus it has an extended version of final scene from the series

This s utterly mental and exactly what you'd expect from modern David Lynch although in places it really reminds me of Eraserhead

4 hours in and I'm starting to think it's going to be an 18 hour 'Lynchian nightmare'

Posted by: Severin 1st July 2017, 04:39 PM

Is anybody else watching this, because that last episode is one of the most stunningly brilliant and beautifully twisted hours of television I have ever seen?

In 1989 the original run broke the rules on what TV shows did and almost everything of note since has copied it, and now he's destroying all those conventions once again.

The man is an utter genius

Posted by: King Rollo 1st July 2017, 05:53 PM

Yes,I'm still watching. Although I don't know what's going on half the time,it's utterly compelling. I like the slow pace to some of the scenes, nothing is hurried.

Posted by: Severin 1st July 2017, 09:32 PM

You're right, compelling is the word.
I know the original show inside out and about 30% of the new show is (so far) unrelated and seems not o make much sense but Lynch has always created a mood and feeling that is often more important than telling a simple story

Posted by: Rob Spears 2nd July 2017, 10:07 AM

I'm still watching, but not a clue what's going on. biggrin.gif

Posted by: jase. 2nd July 2017, 06:22 PM

Why bother watching something when you have no idea what's going on? Genuine question.. laugh.gif

I gave up. I'm all for out there and strange but this just takes the piss.
