I agree they were right to take the opportunity and get the name out there again ahead of the official comeback. For them to get such a big slot is great for them and i really did think we would never hear from them again as it took so long to get the name sorted etc. It will be interesting to see how the comeback goes next year but hats off to them for never giving up.

Flowers is at #72 in the midweeks - it'll likely not make an appearance on the Friday chart, but nice to see some chart action.

QUOTE(Jay ☆ @ Oct 20 2019, 03:23 AM) *
Round Round was definitely a big hit at the time, but a few factors prevented it from huge sales!

That's true, I guess I still expecting it to pick up a bit more over the years and I didn't realise sales in 2002 were already bad, I always associate the sales slump with later in the 00s, due to the internet becoming more accessible with broadband being released left, right and center. The point about the album being released shortly after also makes complete sense.

These kids today don't realise how hard it was back in the day when we couldn't just push the button to get our songs. We had to walk five miles in blizzard storms to get to the nearest shop to buy our singles - and sometimes they wouldn't even have the singles yet, so you had to order/reserve it via the store. pirate.gif

I actually miss going into HMV in town to pick up a couple of my favourite releases, used to do it religiously pretty much every Weekend, blizzard or not! I think there are still boxes of CDs at my parents house. I did end up switching to iTunes at a certain point, but it didn't stop me buying physical albums and buying physical singles for the B-side!

They’re promising something for the anniversary so I’m assuming they’re re-recording something. A GH of 1.0/2.0 singles and some album tracks with a new unheard lead single would be quality I reckon. Drop than in like April and then build up to a October Tour and a September release of album 2/7/8 (delete as fits your viewpoint)

I was thinking about a re-recording of 1.0 and 2.0 singles too. It would be a shame to lose all those classics whilst the original three move forward. I think a double album could work, one disc being a re-recorded greatest hits and one disc being new material.

I could see them doing an acoustic EP sort of thing, but I wouldn't want proper re-recordings meant to replace the original versions to be honest. I've always found that a bit disrespectful. That's what they planned to do with Overloaded originally and I was against it then and would be so now. It's not necessary.

So just to confirm, they finally got their name Sugababes back ? What about the older materials starting from Round Round? Could they still get to perform it on tour?

They are free to perform anything they please (they already performed 2.0 material as "Mutya Keisha Siobhan" btw).

Mutya regularly pulls out a couple of Sugababes songs for her solo sets. Ugly is a particular fave of hers and she breaks out Overload, Push The Button regularly as well

Keisha’s one solo gig had Sugababes material too. There’s nothing really stopping them performing what they want on stage and of course as MKS they improved a bunch of 2.0 tracks (don’t @ me! We all know that acoustic Caught In A Moment is literal perfection)

Keisha hates it and now that she has control over the name...

On a serious note, it was a UK bonus track so I guess when they put it up there they used the tracklisting of the standard international edition. I guess, just like with iTunes, they re-added the catalog, probably due to the name issue.

Their Spotify header is now updated:

https://open.spotify.com/artist/7rZNSLWMjTbwdLNskFbzFf

I will say that I'm enjoying how they're slowly taking over all of the platforms - first Instagram, then Twitter and now Spotify. I guess it's just a question until they get http://www.facebook.com/Sugababes biggrin.gif

Oh how cool!!! Did you get a chance to see any of the performances last night?

Few clips on Instagram I’ve seen look so good. Possibly a better performance than the Graham Norton one
