Chart Comments

Last week's Top 2 stays the same, with Adele's 'Hello' at #1 for a 2nd week, while 'Sorry' is at #2 for Justin Bieber.

The highest new entry is at #3 - 'Your Type' by Carly Rae Jepsen, the third single from her incredible album 'E•MO•TION'. It follows the #1 hits 'I Really Like You' and 'Run Away With Me'. 'Your Type' really resonates with me, and the song and video combo is very poignant. If you haven't checked it out yet, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlFMVzo9zuE! Carly is so underrated and I really feel like she deserves worldwide success with her album.

Entering one place lower is the far more successful Ariana Grande, with her new single 'Focus'. This song has been very divisive amongst her fans & music lovers, many commenting that the chorus' male vocals are annoying. I personally quite like that part, it's very catchy! All of the singles from Ariana's last album 'My Everything' went Top 3 here ('Problem' - #1, 'Break Free' feat. Zedd - #1, 'Bang Bang' with Jessie J & Nicki Minaj - #1, 'Love Me Harder' feat. The Weeknd - #3 and 'One Last Time' - #2).

In at #5 is Fleur East's highly anticipated debut single 'Sax'. It's been teased for a few weeks now, and finally leaked in full yesterday (5th Nov) ahead of its release today. Less than a day of hearing the full song is enough to send it straight into my Top 5. *.* It's a massive song & I hope its hugely successful for her. As for my chart - could she climb to #1 next week? Fleur was of course the runner up of last year's series of The X Factor. The winner, Ben Haenow, slips one place to #7 this week with 'Second Hand Heart'.

Little Mix performed a brilliant medley of 'Love Me Like You' and 'Black Magic' on The X Factor last Sunday. The former climbs two places to #6, and the latter re-enters at #35. Both peaked at #1. 'Black Magic' is currently my Year-to-date #1!

Ellie Goulding was also a guest performer on The X Factor last weekend. Although her performance was pretty lacklustre (imo) I am still partial to the studio version, which climbs up to #13. Meanwhile her newest single 'Army' debuts at #10.

Jess Glynne's latest single 'Take Me Home' (this year's Children In Need Single) enters at #9. That makes it her 8th consecutive Top 10 single in less than 24 months. Jess' full chart history:

Sigma & Rita Ora's collaboration 'Coming Home' premiered yesterday and is straight in at #14 here. Both artists have had #1 singles in my chart - Sigma have achieved two and Rita Ora has six #1s to her name. Will they eventually claim a #1 together?

At #16 is 'Bang My Head', another collaboration between David Guetta & Sia (and on this occasion they've invited Fetty Wap to join them). It is Guetta's first chart appearance since 'Hey Mama' entered my chart 6 months ago.

'Do It Again' was a #3 hit back in August for Pia Mia, and her new single 'Touch' is new in at #18.

Before this week, Miguel had never had a single chart lower than #1. However his discography up to now had been rather small, with just '#Beautiful', 'Adorn and 'Coffee' entering my chart. Now more songs from his amazing album 'Wildheart' make their mark, with 'waves' entering at #19 and 'Simple Things' Remix at #24.

Finally, the lowest new entry this week belongs to Zedd featuring Troye Sivan, who are at #26 with 'Papercut'. I wouldn't be surprised if this is one of the longest songs to ever enter my chart, clocking in at 7 minutes and 23 seconds.

Take Me Home is my favourite new entry. It is very catchy and I love Jess Glynne. The video is a bit boring though.
