I noticed there wasn't a thread for the Vanaroma National League and a non-league thread.

This is the topic for anything about non-league clubs or your local team.

With 3 games into the season. It looks like this in the National League:

Monumentally, North Ferriby United made it into the Conference last season. When you compare the size of the village against the likes of York and Chester etc., it really is a magnificent achievement. Financially the cannot compete with other teams in their division but that also means that the pressure is off. Picked up our first win of the season tonight in a 3-2 victory over Guiseley.

I really can't overstate how much of a mismatch it is for them in this division - but this is also the team who won the FA Trophy a few years ago, so anything can happen. I remember about 5-6 years ago watching Ferriby beat Fleetwood in the Conference North and look how well they are doing now!

And they continued with another win today.

I am hoping Gateshead go up from here, they have been near the promotion play offs in recent seasons.

Already Eastleigh & Guiseley have both sacked their managers.

The managerial merry go round has started then.

Any unexpected performers from the start so far for anyone? I am a tad surprised at Lincoln doing better than they have done in recent seasons.

Poole Town (a few miles from me) have made an impressive start in Conference South after being promoted last season. They lost their first game rather badly, but have done well since then. As a former Woking season ticket holder, I'm disappointed with their start in the Conference National though.

Chester are 4pts off the play offs. I am living for our current run of form.

I assume they are one of the few teams not to have ever been in the league?

Yes, Forest Green Rovers have never played in the Football League.

As well as Eastleigh, Dover Athletic, Gateshead, the reformed Chester, Boreham Wood, Sutton, Solihull Moors, Bromley, Maidstone United, Woking, Braintree Town, North Ferriby United, Guiseley.

The old Maidstone Utd did play in the league however.
Most people in the area don't make a distinction since the team was taken over by the same people within days of the original collapsing even if is technically a different club

Will be nice to see if they advance to the semis.....I like an underdog team that does well...

Sutton United had to play an outfield player in goal after their goalkeeper got injured during their match against Torquay.

That would be something for definite, unlikely with who they got.

It'll be great to see Lincoln hopefully back in the Football League.

Lincoln City are up, what an amazing season for this club. Last play off place seems to be between Aldershot and Dover. Dover has a game in hand. Last two relegation places to be decided as well.
