Released: 8th February 2019
Label: Atlantic Records UK

Biography

Marina Lambrini Diamandis (born 10 October 1985), mononymously known as Marina and previously by the stage name Marina and the Diamonds, is a Welsh singer and songwriter. She describes herself as an "indie artist with pop goals".

Born in Brynmawr and raised in nearby Pandy, she moved to London as a teenager to become a professional singer, despite having little formal musical experience. In 2009, Diamandis came to prominence upon placing second in the BBC's Sound of 2010. Her debut studio album, The Family Jewels (2010), incorporates indie pop and new wave musical styles. It entered the UK Albums Chart at number five and was certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry. The album's second single, "Hollywood", peaked at number 12 on the UK Singles Chart.

Her follow-up record Electra Heart (2012) is a concept album about a character of the same name. It integrates elements of electropop, and its producers include StarGate, Dr. Luke, and Diplo. It became her first number-one project in the UK, where it was also certified gold, and its lead single "Primadonna" is her highest-charting track in the UK Singles Chart, reaching number 11. Diamandis describes Electra Heart as "tongue-in-cheek" and considers it to have been better received in the United States, while some British fans disliked the change in musical direction.

Diamandis's synthpop-inspired third studio album Froot (2015) became her third top-ten album in the UK, and her first top-ten entry on the US Billboard 200, where it charted at number 8. Produced entirely by Diamandis and David Kosten, it was praised for its cohesive sound and introspective lyrical content. The album spawned five singles: "Froot, "Happy", "I'm a Ruin", "Forget" and "Blue".

Diamandis's fourth studio album Love + Fear is scheduled for release on 26 April 2019, preceded by the single "Handmade Heaven".

David Guetta, Brooks and Loote
Better When You're Gone

Non-album single
Released: 8th February 2019
Label: What A Music

Video

Biography

David Guetta
From his early days playing Chicago house in French discotheques to his long reign atop the pop charts, David Guetta has revolutionized dance music multiple times. Born in Paris in 1967, Guetta began DJing in the late ’80s, when the shimmery sound known as the “French touch” was taking shape. By the early 2000s, at his F*** Me I’m Famous parties in Ibiza, he had translated that melodic style into a clever merger of pop sass and club swagger. He parlayed that mix into pure platinum with hits like 2003’s “Just for One Day,” an energy-stoking rework of David Bowie’s “Heroes,” and 2002’s “Just a Little More Love,” a sultry bump-and-grind featuring R&B singer Chris Willis. That versatility—along with a knack for killer hooks—would become one of Guetta’s principal calling cards, and as EDM exploded across pop culture at the end of the 2000s, Guetta’s shapeshifting style led the way, yielding ecstatic affirmations (“When Love Takes Over”), feisty come-ons (“Sexy Bitch”), and unstoppable singalongs (The Black Eyed Peas’ “I Gotta Feeling,” which Guetta produced). Since then, his collaborations (Sia, Nicki Minaj) have kept listeners guessing even as his choruses—triumphant as a bottle of bubbly blowing its top—have proven one of pop’s most dependable pleasures. - iTunes

Brooks
At the tender age of 16, Derby's Andy Brooks released his first production -- "Electric Dance Machine," on DiY's 2922 Days compilation. Brooks, who releases his oddball house material as Brooks, signed on with the Mantis label and delivered his first 12" in 1999 with Pink Cigarettes. His slow but steady release schedule continued throughout 2000 and 2001, with a single released each year (Clix and The Distance). 2002 was much more prolific, with two additional 12" releases, Miss Bombay 1974 and Colour Me Bad, preceding his debut first full-length. Released in late 2002, the excellent You, Me and Us followed through on the promise evident in the early releases with a fascinating batch of productions that flipped the oft-stuffy field of deep house on its head. Despite being in his early 20s at the time of the record's release, Brooks had seemingly devoured all the electronically-oriented R&B that came twenty years prior, in addition to gobbling plenty of knowledge about early Chicago house and Detroit techno. Instead of taking that knowledge and skill to become yet another throwback copyist, Brooks twisted his inspirations into an irreverent yet somehow refined sound. - iTunes

Loote
Pop duo Loote was formed by the production team of singer/songwriters Jackson Foote and Emma Lov. The New York-based pair were performers in their own rights before meeting in college. Lov, a singer and guitarist from a young age, started her career writing jingles for toy commercials and children's television networks. In 2014, she was paired with Foote for a class songwriting project and their professional relationship continued outside of the classroom. Under the guidance of their professor -- the producer Carl Sturken (Rihanna, *NSYNC, Christina Aguilera) -- they formed Loote and signed to Universal Music Publishing Group through Sturken and his partner Evan Rogers' SRP. Together, they co-wrote and co-produced "No Promises" for Cheat Codes and Demi Lovato, which went platinum in the U.S. and double platinum globally. While writing and producing for other artists and remixing tracks by Shawn Mendes and Mike Posner, they released their own single, the tropical-tinged pop song "High Without Your Love" in 2017. After that song charted on a Billboard streaming chart, they followed with "Out of My Head" and "Your Side of the Bed." In 2018, the pair teamed up with Joe Jonas for "Longer Than I Thought." - iTunes

Jesus christ, I'm sure the song sounds horrendous anyway judging by that, but if that's the only way they can effectively edit it, I'd just... not play it laugh.gif

Biography

Contemporary R&B singer and songwriter Kehlani Parrish studied ballet and modern dance at the Oakland School for the Arts. An injury prompted a move to OSA's music department, where she blossomed as a vocalist. During eighth grade, she joined Poplyfe, a band that competed on America's Got Talent during the program's sixth season. Following an affable performance of Travie McCoy's "Billionaire," judge Piers Morgan noted that he thought Kehlani, the frontperson, could be successful without the band. While Kehlani brushed the notion aside, she eventually went solo and presented herself as a slightly younger, more down-to-earth alternative to contemporary R&B artists like Jhené Aiko. Her first release, the eight-track Cloud19, was released in 2014, and a pair of its songs registered on Billboard's Twitter Emerging Artists chart. A lengthier set, You Should Be Here, followed in 2015 with guest appearances from BJ the Chicago Kid and Chance the Rapper. Shortly after its release, major-label Atlantic announced that it had signed Kehlani to a recording contract. You Should Be Here was later nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Urban Contemporary Album. Atlantic released several Kehlani tracks during 2015 and 2016, including "Gangsta," her first crossover hit, taken from Suicide Squad: The Album. Kehlani's first proper full-length, SweetSexySavage, arrived on Atlantic in early 2017. Featuring the singles "CRZY" and "Distraction," the album peaked at number three on the Billboard 200. - iTunes
