Wow. She nailed that, wasn't expecting her to have such a strong voice to do that so well.

Ryan fell somewhat flat due to over production as Simon said, but vocally much better than last week. Nicole's opening... seriously embarassing, so much second hand cringing.

Gifty had one of the best performances of all the lives so far, the other three were below average. Sam's staging and the effort behind it was amazing, but her voice just doesn't sound right and it never really has. I've given it so many chances but it just doesn't work.

The vocal felt a bit off in places there, understandably due to her cold, but the song was uninspired anyway definitely think Relley could be bottom 3 this week at this rate.

Emily's finally back at her pre-lives magnificence with that, absolutely stunning staging and beautiful vocals. She probably just takes over Gifty as my favourite of the night, and that isn't just bias as Emily has been mid-pack for me in weeks one and two.

Honey was terribly boring and Relley was solid but uninspiring as I feared with that song choice. With Four of Diamonds getting another good slot it could be Relley slipping into that bottom 3 with Ryan and Saara.

I really don't get why Relley is called predictable but Matt comes out, does the same falsetto note every week and gets praised to the high heavens They obviously haven't heard the Mariah and Trey Lorenz version because that seriously pales in comparison. I thought Relley was amazing this week but it's not fair they made her perform when people have got a pass for less.

Emily is so boring. Ugh. And I loved Abi Alton! Sam is terrible, why do they love her so much?

Once again exceptional, she's such a reliable performer and I echo everything John says. A really lovely VT, I'm so glad the producers have given Saara her MOMENT before she inevitably leaves this week or next if she's very lucky. I do think Simon genuinely loves her and is pushing some of this producer love.

Ranking/comments:

01 Gifty 9/10 (absolutely stunning, perhaps also because I didn't quite expect it! I knew she had a good voice but I didn't expect such a beautiful vocal performance as she's been very focused on the performance, attitude and sass imo)
02 Relley 8/10 (the weakest of her 3 performances so far but I love how effortless she is, she just comes out, and barely has to try and slay the whole contest *.* I'd have liked a more current or exciting song but for being ill she smashed that!)
03 Saara 8/10 (I wasn't quite loving that as much as some of you, but I love her and I can't deny she gave that her all. I don't think being so theatrical and quirky is really going to do her any favours, I think she will still be bottom 3 and idk if the judges can really keep saving her, it's not gonna long before we're hit with the "the public don't connect to you bye" as a cop-out in a difficult to call sing-off )
04 Honey G 7/10 (I actually found that really fun to watch, I think Simon's comment really sums up her essence for me. It's just nice to see her enthusiasm and having fun, and fake or not, whatever her motivation, I am always looking forward to seeing her on the stage.)
05 Matt 6.5/10 (definitely not his best, I just don't think that was really the song for him. It came across like a battle on The Voice where the two singers try and do as many runs as they can to outshine the other :/)
06 Sam 6/10 (I didn't find this as bad as some on the internet are making it out to be, but I definitely think she completely lacks control of her voice and it gets shouty at times. This was my favourite of hers so far but it swallowed her up, which is ironic really because other weeks I've wanted her to soften it and give songs LESS power rather than shouting soft parts )
07 4 Of Diamonds 6/10 (decent enough but they just don't fit as a group yet. As with Sam I think they're an act who needs a lot of work and with Louis not mentoring them and not giving a shit they won't get that. Pretty much certain bottom 3 imo)
08 5 After Midnight 2/10 (horrific. I didn't like them before but that was just painful, so so cheesy and over the top. I'm sick of them dancing a bit and thinking that covers up the fact their harmonies are totally off which makes the vocals awful)
09 Emily 2/10 (I saw a tweet that said this would be on Now That's What I Call Funerals That's exactly how I feel about her, she is so depressing and lifeless... This was a carbon copy of last week's performance, and I doubt she'll venture too far away from that ever. Yawn. I've never been so baffled by the appeal of a girl on X Factor. I also hated how her VT was all about her bloody relationship - NOBODY CARES)
10 Ryan 1/10 (Simon was wholly correct, it was so flat. He barely has a voice anyway but to sing Adele just made that all too apparent...)


Ryan and 4OD are certs for the bottom I'd have thought, the former was first and awful and I just can't see many voting for the latter. The performance needed to be a lot better than it was to grab the votes to stay. Sam or sadly Saara will be joining them I imagine, either way I feel like Ryan will win the flash vote. I gave Saara 5 votes and Relley 5 because I feel like Gifty will be fine. *gifty does a Misha B*

Honestly haven't been this pissed off at an elimination since probably Ella Henderson :/ I mean I wasn't happy a LOT since but I mean for the shock factor. I know she was hardly going to smash to the win but she shouldn't have been anywhere near bottom 3, she was the best vocalist behind Saara imo. I hate this lifeline vote shit, I know that we don't know for sure but I wouldn't be surprised if Ryan was last on the vote and Relley was 3rd last so it just seems a shambles for her to go. Plus 4 Of Diamonds' sing off was a bit ropey, and Relley smashed it. What's the point of a sing off if they're gonna go "Little Mix are doing well now so the pound signs are flashing for another girl group"? I hate to compare them to Little Mix but 4OD aren't really bringing anything new to set them apart and I think that's gonna be crucial for girlbands who emerge in the next few years on XF. It's the same as 1D and boybands, it really wore thin to have endless generic boybands who didn't try to be anything new just because 1D did well. I do see the potential in 4 Of Diamonds but with Louis not even mentoring them they're hardly going to release it, and Relley was already there :/ I just feel deflated that Relley was among the best last night despite being ill and was by FAR the best of the two sing offs but instead we get to have another week of the vomit inducing couple who barely have half an octave of range between them

Awful result. 4 of Diamonds seemed to have potential at Judges Houses but all of their live show performances have been piss poor thus far. That sing off was the worst of said performances in fact! Relley really should have stayed this time.

I still love Gifty and Saara and I do find Honey G fun to watch, plus Matt as the obvious winner isn't too bad. But this is a real hit to the series as Relley was probably my ultimate favourite

I do think these 4 acts will leave the show in the next 4 weeks, Ryan, 4oD, Saara, and Emily probably in that same order. Than the real competition will start to be honest, as most of the deadwood will be gone.

A lot more people who got sick have had to perform than those who got a bye - only Diana Vickers and one other have had a bye as far as I can remember. And a bye can often be the start of your downfall as Diana was a potential winner, but lost all momentum after her bye except for the initial return when she topped the vote.

That was Relley's weakest vocal I think with yet another old-fashioned song, although she probably did just out perform Four of Diamonds. But based on the sing-off I think it was much closer than it is being made out to be, I probably preferred Four of Diamonds on the night even though I preferred Relley overall.

I would agree with this. Don't get me wrong, Relley was much better overall and should have stayed based on her performances from the first 3 shows, but in the sing off she sounded really off, and 4oD, whilst not perfect, sang their best and slightly better than Relley. I agree with Simon that it was very close.
