What was that pit stop about from Hulkenberg in the highlights just seemed a bit strange almost as if they don't want him to finish ahead of Stroll...
Great win from Max Verstappen and nice to see a non-Mercedes win for a change. The midfield is fantastic and very competitive. |

The German commentary team have been speaking to tracing point this weekend, like how sky talk to Horner during the races, and after that pit stop at the end they went back to TP and literally just went “just one question. Hülkenberg. WHY?????????” And it was at Hülks request, he had some mega vibrations on the tyres and a concern they wouldn’t make it to the end. They pitted for safety. They could afford to with Ocon being 7 miles down the road

The race didn't have the "thrills and spills" of the benchmark great races but I loved the tactical battle and the fact that Mercedes showed they weren't invincible! A shame it always takes an extremely specific set of circumstances which happen maybe once or twice a season for them to even be challenged let alone beaten.
Having said that, but for Max's unfortunate retirement in the season opener he may well have only been 15 points behind Lewis as it stands so nothing is quite set in stone yet. Leclerc deserves a shout out btw, 4th in the standings in the 6th best car. Unbelievable stuff from him, driver of the season so far (less we forget the Styrian howler). Above all, Hulk managed to not only start but finish the race |

The FIA has notified Formula 1 teams it intends to prevent them using high-performance ‘qualifying modes’ from the next round of the championship.
It'll be interesting to see how much, if any, difference this makes |

Wonder if it will affect Mercedes B-Team. Insert any appropriate name for Racing Point.

Barcelona races can be decent every now and then but when it drops into the boring procession area, it drops hard. It's not like Spain doesn't have any other circuits, at this point any of them would be a welcome change.

There has been talk of Jerez returning, possibly in November, as Vietnam is now looking like being cancelled

That was pretty dire to be honest.
Fortunately Belgium is up next and let's hope it has showers. |
