 And ofc I was going to use this AF Idol to spotlight a country artist. It was pretty much between Maren and Kelsea Ballerini (I briefly considered Carrie but I decided to go for someone that would be more of a discovery) and have chosen Maren as Kelsea is a bit too similar to Taylor and I feel Maren will go down better in this game. A stunning songwriter with a fabulous voice, I hope you discover some country gems that give you the feels as we explore the highlights of Maren's 2 albums, and her collabs from massive dance hits to beautiful meaningful gems. |

YES! That was my first choice too (assuming you're saving the likes of 'My Church', 'The Middle' & 'Seeing Blind' for later rounds
 ) I'd love for you to be able to fit 'Common' in at some point

I know absolutely nothing by Maren so I think this is the act I'm most intrigued by. I do like a bit of country music every now and again so I'm looking forward to seeing what songs you send

I think realistically I'm not likely to be voting much for Maren which I'm sure won't be a shock
 but as far as country pop acts go she's probably among the best of them, 'The Bones' is a pretty decent song and her songs from BJSC weren't awful either, so I am curious to see if there are any particular gems in her discography since I'll be listening to... at least 6 or so songs I haven't yet heard from her over the course of this xx

quite a lot of options this round!:
- Craving You (Thomas Rhett ft. Maren) - Dear Hate (ft. Vince Gill) - Seeing Blind (Niall Horan ft. Maren) - The Middle (Zedd & Grey ft. Maren) - Way Too Pretty For Prison (Miranda ft. Maren) The Middle & Dear Hate will both be used at another stage for definite if not used now. Of the other three, only one will be able used (either this round or a later round if we use either of DH/TM now) I adore Craving You but Maren's v. background on it. I need your guys help this round |
