following Eminem's historic #1 tonight (first artist to have #1s in the 00s, 10s and 20s) who else could potentially do it? don't think there's many contenders so also leave your tips for who could have #1s in two decades (of which Stormzy and Ed Sheeran already have).

Here's a few I think have the potential to do it (other than the three who already have)

00s, 10s and 20s (potentially)
Calvin Harris - if he goes back to his commercial sound sometime soon
Rihanna - if she ever comes back and with a strong single
Lady Gaga - Shallow was huge recently so she can't be ruled out, though I don't expect her LG6 lead will reach #1

10s and 20s (very likely)
Adele
Ariana Grande
Drake
Dua Lipa
Justin Bieber - even with Yummy underperforming I expect he'll be on a #1 sometime soon
Lewis Capaldi

10s and 20s (likely)
Bruno Mars
Dave
George Ezra
Jess Glynne
LadBaby dry.gif
Post Malone
Sam Smith
Shawn Mendes

10s and 20s (potentially but unlikely)
Camila Cabello
Chris Brown
Clean Bandit
Ellie Goulding
Harry Styles
Khalid
Little Mix
One Direction - although only 'unlikely' as they probably won't be doing a comeback
Rita Ora
Taylor Swift

For #1 in all three decades, Calvin Harris is easily the most obvious candidate to do it next. I'm sure he'll go back to his commercial sound once he's got this side project out of his system and when he does he'll have a very good chance of getting another #1. Rihanna and Gaga are less likely but yeah if it's the right song then maybe. Couldn't we put Beyoncé in that list too? She had #1s in the 00s and 'Telephone' in 2010, or are you not counting that because she wasn't lead artist?

For 10s and 20s it could potentially be any of those listed. And I think it's almost certain One Direction will get back together in the next couple of years (as all the members seem to allude to it quite often in interviews) so I'd put them in the 'Likely' category!

I know he's not up to much chart-wise nowadays but could there be an outside chance Usher could become the first artists to have #1s spanning the 90s, 00s, 10s and 20s with the right song / a successful feature?

I'm not too sure about Beyoncé, she doesn't seem to want to make proper chart smashes at the moment. Of course she'll continue to get album bombs off her name but I think a #1 is unlikely.

With Beyoncé she doesn’t really push singles. She puts out whole albums at once and then It’s not certain it’ll go straight to streaming as well. Formation could’ve been a top ten hit if it was put on streaming sites from the get go though. She’s capable of top tens for sure but #1 I’m not sure. Albums wise though she’s very likely to get number ones on ghat chart.

Of the major pop females Ariana and Rihanna are most likely aside from Adele.

I think Gaga can score a top ten debut with her lead but #1 it would need to be a pop banger like Poker Face or a soaring ballad like Shallow to go to #1 but it’s not completely out the question. It’s achievable but there needs be a streaming deal in place or strong playlisting.

Someone else I wouldn’t rule out getting another #1 single is Bruno Mars and The Weeknd could potentially get one as well.

Jess Glynne I can see getting more #1s and both Calvin Harris and Clean Bandit.

I wouldn’t rule out Demi Lovato either. Shes with scooter now.

Oh yes Bruno Mars is probably quite likely, I forgot to include him.

The Weeknd doesn't have a #1 to his name yet so he can't join the list.

I always forget that about The Weeknd!

Because he’s had them in the US and my personal charts I get confused.

Hopefully this will be the decade he gets one!

I'd add David Guetta for 00s, 10s and 20s - he hasn't had one for a while but with someone like him all it would take is the right song/collab

Yeah David Guetta and Bruno Mars are good shouts. Maybe Mark Ronson too?

Robbie Williams has had #1 singles in the last 3 decades, and Take That have as well. This won’t continue though.

I'd say unlikely for David Guetta for now, he hasn't been getting a lot of big hits in recent years, and was absent from the top 40 for the whole of 2019 (he did very well to have hits in every year from 09-18 though).

I'd put Mark Ronson in unlikely as well.

I’ve got another name to throw into the ring if another comeback is on for the future as he’s never called it a day for his music yet...

I could feasibly see David Guetta's name appearing at #1 again in some form, maybe as part of a mass involvement with like two other producers/vocalists or something).

Maybe Katy Perry for 00s, 10s and 20s if she has another feature like 'Feels' or something (obviously not of her own accord again).

I'd say Mark Ronson was pretty likely given he had a near-miss just last year. His sound is quite 'in' at the moment and I'm sure the right song and right featured artist could see him score a huge number one.

I hope Maroon 5 don’t get another #1 single this decade.

There is potential, but probably unlikely, that with the right feature Britney could definitely have another number 1 to her name. Especially if it's something as "on trend" and "of the time" as 'Scream & Shout' was. It all just depends on what happens with this whole court case stuff and whether she records anything again drama.gif (Holding out hope for a Confessions On A Dancefloor/Light Years kinda reinvention, but again. More unlikely than it is likely.)

Eminem just became the first to get number ones in the 00s, 10s and 20s (as well as the first to get top ten hits in the 90s-20s)

The only other 00s acts I can see achieving this are Adele and Calvin Harris.

Adele never got a no.1 on the 00s, unless you’re just talking about top 10s.

Yeah but I can't realistically see any of those scoring another #1 - with the possible exception of Sean Paul as a feature.
