Again both of those feel about right. Strong, emotional songs that are integral to the album but not amongst the absolute best of the best for me - all of my top 3 are still to come!
So happy that ‘Break Your Heart Right Back’ is top 5. |

What a solid top five we have now! Great to see Just A Little Bit of Your Heart make it in particular.

The top 5 would be 2-6 in my rankings so I'm not too disappointed at this outcome.
Still a little sore about Problem though |

5. 'Break Your Heart Right Back' // 8.62 Best: George.keh, Jade, Juliano, Jordan Lee, LewisGT (10), HausofF, Jonjo, kye (9) / Mistake: blacksquare (5), ...ready for it, Wall (7) Just about claiming a place in the top 5 is 'Break Your Heart Right Back'. This song features rapper Childish Gambino, who would later catch his biggest break of all with 'This Is America', which went to #1 in the U.S. four years after 'Break Your Heart Right Back' was recorded. It seems that Ariana really had the knack for working with future superstars on this record, as The Weeknd (who features on 'Love Me Harder' - that's still to come!) had also not fully broken through yet at the time of working with her. 'Break Your Heart Right Back' is a bitter anthem for those who have been screwed over by a partner. In this case, it's about being cheated on by a guy who turns out to be gay. Gambino literally spells it out for us in his verse: "Yes, I'm a G, from the A, and they ask why". That's not where the LGBTQ+ themes end though, as the track samples 'I'm Coming Out' by Diana Ross. This is one of Ariana's absolute favourite songs from 'My Everything' and she even still performs it now. It has gone down well on here too, with the average now jumping up to 8.62 and just blacksquare rating it lower than 7. I appreciate that it takes a... not so fun situation and turns it into an uptempo moment. I really love the infectious production and the sample too, god knows how Ariana fit that in without it being tacky but it just... works. Childish Gambino slots into the song effortlessly too. |

I love BYHRB! I remember listening to it and One Last Time on repeat after the album was released. Was really hoping for the single treatment, however I still enjoy going back to it just the same.

Ooomph, also slightly shocked with Problems seemingly harsh low placement, but I get that it hasn't aged well and maybe has been overplayed by a lot of us... anyway! 7. 'My Everything' // 7.69 Best: HouseofF (10), JosephStyles (9) / Mistake: George.keh (4), blacksquare (6) 6. 'Why Try' // 8.03 Best: HouseofF (11), Juliano, Jordan Lee (10) / Mistake: blacksquare, Wall (6) Next out... Pretty darn respectable scores for the gorgeous 'Victoria Monét' penned title track 'My Everything' and final track from the standard version of the album. A strong album track, not much else to say about that one. On to one of my personal all time favourite underrated gems (clearly not then.), I always call it the closest thing she's had to her 'Halo' moment. Narrowly missing the top 5, is 'Why Try'. The first track to get a rating of over 8.0 here on Buzzjack, I think it's clear as to why Ari and her team placed this one high up on the track listing. Scores are really picking up now, with it's lowest marks coming from 'blacksquare' and 'Wall', who even still gave it a respectably higher than middle mark; 6.0 , it's also the second and only album track to get the full 11 points so far. That leave our top 5 as: Break Free Break Your Heart Right Back Just A Little Bit of Your Heart Love Me Harder One Last Time Thoughts and predictions? Two incredible songs in a row JALBOYH and BYHRB making top 5 Break Free far too high already lmao ~ |

4. 'Just a Little Bit of Your Heart' // 8.77 Best: HausofF, Jonjo, Jade, ...ready for it, coi, Wall, LewisGT, JosephStyles (10) / Mistake: blacksquare (5), George.keh (6) I'm so pleased I got this track for commentary because it's a very special song in Ariana's discography for me. Just a Little Bit of Your Heart is one of the slowest moments on My Everything, allowing Ariana's vocals to shine over the subtle backing track. The song is about being in love with a cheating partner and not wanting to let go of them, and makes for one of the most powerful moments across Ariana's entire discography. The song was written by Harry Styles specifically for Ariana, and he performed the track on his own world tour as well! I'm personally SO pleased to see it in the top 5, behind only the three remaining singles! |

BYHRB is such a fun track. It was always a highlight from the album so I'm very pleased to see it top 5! Same with JALBOYH. Such a beautiful and stunning song and I'm so happy to see it receive the love for it is pretty equal amongst everyone! Gorgeous.
My preferred order: 01. One Last Time 02. Break Free 03. Love Me Harder Switch BF & LMH and I think that'll be the actual order. |

3. 'Break Free' // 8.96 Best: Juliano (11) / Mistake: blacksquare, HausOfF. Jordan Lee (6) This is the part when Cameron has a nervous breakdown at writing the commentary for his favourite very Ariana Grande song! Where can I start with this masterpiece of pure dance-pop perfection? To this day, Break Free is the most instant Ariana song for me (Along with Into You). It's super catchy with a fun video that sees our queen battle aliens with her magnificent rocket bazookas. No wonder the video has over 1 billion views! Had I remembered to vote this could have won (boo me). |

'Break Free' actually wasn't instant in my case! Took years for me to appreciate it more but I'm glad that I'm into it a lot more nowadays.

Should be #1, not sorry. After listening to Harry perform his version, now a huge part of me wishes it was a duet between the two of them, how iconic would that have been!? I'm not sure I'd have survived listening to that Not here for some of the Break Free indifference in this thread, it's one of her absolute best for me! The chorus is huge, and it was an INCREDIBLE moment on tour!! One Last Time absolutely has to win now! |
