Following her last album in 2018, Carrie Underwood has announced her new Christmas album 'My Gift' is out on September 25th - and I thought October last year was a bit early for Christmas releases laugh.gif

October's pretty standard for Christmas albums, gives them enough time to sell over the holiday season! This seems even earlier but I'm hoping it'll be good, glad there's some original material coming!

There is no need for her to release this early... even if Country radio take 6 months to add a song... it will be dead in the water by then (the single I mean... i imagine the album will sell plenty)

...which is surely the most important thing anyway?

She'll be fine, I don't see why not, her songs usually take ages to get going so this allows it time to build.

There will be literally no problem with her releasing the album in September, it won't stop radio from pushing the single in late October / early November. The stations that switch to all-Christmas music do so earlier and earlier each year, and she's almost guaranteed to have Country radio play it too. The release date will not affect its potential to do very well.

It is surprising that Carrie hasn't done a Christmas album until now, but hopefully it will be worth the wait!

"Favorite Time of the Year" is at #96 in the chart update today, could be her second singles chart appearance! ("I Know You Won't" made #94 in 2014)
