Artist announcement in early October!

I'm quite loving the resurgence of The Netherlands in Eurovision and interested to see if they stick to their now tried and tested country/MOR pop trend.
I hope we don't, I want something different
They seem to be the only country that are consistently in my bottom (well, "Birds" was tolerable). I hope they break the pattern for 2017.

(Hoping for something that wasnt on the album tho)
Hmm, they are talented girls but their material has been very average from what I've heard of it. Being a girl band already goes against them, they will need a song miles better than anything they've ever come up with before. When was the last time a girl band did well? Serebro 10 years ago? Honestly this screams non-qualification, but I'm hoping to be surprised!
More Junior Eurovision graduates though! *.*
This could be good, I enjoyed the album much more than I expected to.
I knew they must have been talented to win The Voice, but I didn't realise they were THIS good. I wonder if they should go against the Eurovision girlband stereotype of mid to uptempo pop songs (Song #1, Ljubav Je Svuda, Say It Again, Disappear, 100% Te Ljubam, Let's Get Loud) and just give us a massive ballad?
I watched their voice performances ages ago when looking for BJSC potentials. Their original stuff is okay but I know they will be given a fab track for esc!
The moment I started stannng these bitches

My body is ready
They've announced that the writers of the song they've got is written by their dad and one of the girls' boyfriends. I've got no idea if this is bad news or good news but google tells me they've written for them before so it makes sense at least.
I was hoping they'd get away from their family members writing their songs again, they always seem to write their songs and none of their previous singles have quite hit the mark.
Apparently it's a ballad. I was all for a ballad originally as you can see earlier in this thread but with the make-up of entries being as they are, we could've done with a female pop stomper. Nevertheless, hopefully it's a good ballad that really shows off their voices like their Clown cover does.
YEah they shoulda gotten a different team. Their father really isn;t a great songwriter.
Lowkey disappointed they went with a ballad, altho it is what they excel at, it's another slow song for us
Called Lights and Shadows and its a powerballad with a buildup
Slay us Dami Im style please
yay another ballad we don't have enough of them really
Sounds good actually. Better than the last two disasters at least.
This reminds me of Hold On by Wilson Phillips
omg poor us, I knew they were gonna do this type of song
It is indeed very Wilson Phillips! It could actually be mistaken as one of their songs!
It's nice. But I don't think it's strong enough. I think the chorus/hook is far too wordy for a melody like that, imo.
Live performance:
Vocals really are flawless, I think the juries could just drag them through to the final. I'm really liking the song personally, has everything an anthemic ballad needs and I love the harmonies. Only criticism is that it is a little bit throwback and it fishes from the same pond as Anja does in the same half of the same semi-final.
A song like this was their best chance of qualifying though as their previous uptempo singles have all been somewhat lacking, mainly production-wise. You can't go very wrong when producing a ballad so this has worked to their strength.
It's nice enough. It could grow I guess but I think it'll be sort of middle of my rankings and get a bit lost amongst me loving other tracks.
Inspiration confirmed.
It gives me Sugababes "Ugly" vibes

Doubt they can win the contest. But with good show girls can reach top 10 or maybe even top 5.
I am loving this now, such a grower! I'm really starting to think this could dark horse top 5 in a Common Linnets way if they nail the vocal and staging, but I suppose you can say that about a lot of entries
I am no great expert in musicology but I am usually pretty good with ESC and I like this one a lot. We knew they were good with harmonies and they show this off well whilst being modern enough without being too EDM or too American. I really like this one, I like how it builds steadily to a strong conclusion, I almost really like the atmosphere, the sound palate and the conclusion and think it should do well, especially as it is in the weaker Semi. It also grows on you which is a definite positive. As long as the staging is good - I will be a happy lady.
Also, I really like that the Netherlands is doing what they should be doing, selecting talent and then throwing some resource at them - sure the video is simple, but stylishly simple. The first Lucie Jones video looked like it was shot in a broom cupboard. They have learned from past failures and are developing a reputation for being professionalism, baring the odd hick-up. Between them and Belgium, I don't know who I am more happy with this year. I can just imagine how happy Denise on Wiwiblogs is with this entry.
O'G3NE - you have a fan here.
