10 Dreamlover (99 points in rank)

In the last round, Joseph & I asked you to rank the remaining Top 10 songs, Eurovision style! The two songs which received the most points were promised immunity in this round - and those songs are 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' and 'Fantasy'. The song with the least points would leave, and that is 'Dreamlover'.

'Dreamlover' served as the lead single from Mariah's third studio album 'Music Box'. The song incorporates a sample of the hook from "Blind Alley" by The Emotions into its melody and instrumentation. The song helped Mariah transition into the pop music market, following the mixed reviews her previous album 'Emotions' experienced, which was more influenced by gospel and soul sounds. 'Dreamlover' was positively received by critics, and performed well in most charts - including #1 in Canada and the US. In fact it did so well in the US that it wound up being the 20th most successful song of the 90s, and her third most successful ('One Sweet Day' came first, with 'Fantasy' placing 15th).
