Not unexpectedly, Trevor Bayliss has announced he wont be renewing his contract when it ends in September 2019.

Well done to England's ODI team for winning the series with two matches to go against Australia, first time since 2007 that they have won the one-day international series in Australia.

Managed to get to 196, got to give them a lot of credit for not just folding after that carnage at the start.

Australia beat New Zealand in Sydney in the opening match of a Twenty20 tri-series which also involves England.

That was a bit of a thrashing to win the series

Good performance with bat and ball, as well as some stunning catching.

And in the first Test against New Zealand. England are all out for 58.

The sixth worst Test score ever, including games from the 1800s - that's fairly embarrassing. Let's hope they can pick themselves up from this.

Between Ireland and Afghanistan today for the last World Cup place. Disappointing that it is only 10 teams for next year if you look at other sports who have expanded the amount of teams in a World Cup.

Unlucky Ireland just miss out. 209-7 was never going to be enough. Afghanistan were 86-0 but then wobbled to 145-4. They lost only one more wicket after that.

Afghanistan qualify with the West Indies. Zimbabwe would have got the 2nd place but lost to UAE in their last match and Scotland might have got it as well but the rain came in their last match when they were 3 runs behind the Duckworth Lewis and they couldn't get back on.

I don't see how making it more difficult for the lesser nations to qualify helps to develop the game.

10 team World Cup will just hamper emerging nations but also established Full Members. Actually lesser nations can't develop at all and would have an adverse effect on funding.

Smith banned for one match and fined his fee. Bancroft fined 75% of match fee and 3 demerit points

Cop out

England have lost by an innings and 49 runs to New Zealand in the first Test at Auckland.

A shame to hear about the blatant cheating from Australia with the ball tampering incident.

It makes you wonder how much Australia have been using this tactic. Will be interesting to see what happens to them after this, looks like Smith has already stood down as captain of his team though.

It does, I wouldn't be surprised if they were occasions where this has happened.

No action against Lehmann, been stated that only Smith, Warner and Bancroft were involved

that doesn't sound consistent with what Smith admitted but looks like they are taking the fall.

Apparently no action can be taken even if they did the same in the Ashes series. Any complaint has to be lodged within a day or two of the end of the match.

Steve Smith and David Warner have been banned for 12 months by Cricket Australia and Cameron Bancroft has been banned for nine months.

Seems fair - hopefully this will stop anyone else who was using similar tactics as well.
