Two wildly different albums released within a few years of each other. Both produced by Mirwais and both polarising for different reasons. It seems, with the help of Mirwais, Madonna's latest album 'Madame X' seems to fit somewhere between the two, so the question is, which album do you prefer? Vote in the poll and discuss below |

Music for me.
I love the production on music and it’s a sound what hasn’t aged it was massively ahead of its time and so interesting. I listen to that as a whole without skipping any tracks where as on American Life I can’t really listen or enjoy the first three tracks, it used to be first four but Love Profusion has grown. The singles from American Life are my least favourite of any of her albums especially the title track and Hollywood. American Life has some fantastic tracks on it though. Tracks 5-11 on that album are fantastic aside from Another Day which I don’t really feel is part of this era. This post has been edited by Jordan Lee: Jun 15 2019, 11:13 AM |

Music for me too!
American Life is a brilliant listen and so daring for her to give a big f*** you to her nation and the state it was/is in. Musically, it's not as enjoyable for me as some of her other albums though, despite being able to appreciate what it stands for. It has many big highlights but also some low lights. Music is a total package from start to end. It's energetic, wacky, weird and wonderful. There's maybe one or two tracks that I can skip occassionally but on the whole, from start to end it's a great listen. Both are brilliant albums! |

I think Music just about edges it for me. I really like the production on American Life and Intervention in particular is a stand out for me... but Music is just more of a complete package and Don't Tell Me is my favourite track from either album. I was listening to the album the other day actually and it's aged much better than I'd expected it to, it's fun, joyous and creative. Even American Pie sounded better than I remembered it!

Music, although it's sort of an album of two halves for me. Tracks like 'Impressive Instant' and 'Runaway Lover' are the meat and bones of that album.

Neither one of those are a favorite, but between the two, Music.

Didn't expect this to be so one-sided!
