QUOTE Will Young and Bryan Ferry will join James Bay in performing at Tynemouth Priory as part of this year's Mouth of the Tyne Festival Bryan Ferry and Will Young are the latest big names to be added to the bill for this year’s Mouth of the Tyne Festival. The chart-toppers will join James Bay for outdoor concerts in July at Tynemouth Priory . North East born Bryan Ferry, CBE, influenced a generation with his music and style. As a solo artist and Roxy Music front man, he achieved number one albums and top 10 singles with hits including Love is the Drug, Dance Away, Slave to Love and Let’s Stick Together. Ferry, who grew up in Washington, will perform on Thursday, July 7. The following night, on Friday, July 8, multi-million selling Brit Award winning singer-songwriter Will Young will perform. He will perform many of his hits along with songs from his latest number one album 85% Proof. Already announced for the festival is fellow chart-topper James Bay, who will perform at the Priory on Saturday, July 9. The show is now sold out. The Mouth of the Tyne Festival, now in its twelfth year, has welcomed a vast range of household name artists to North Tyneside including Paul Weller, Beverley Knight, The Script and James Morrison. International street entertainers are once again expected to take to the coastal village to entertain visitors and residents. Brilliant night in the perfect setting. Will commented that the band thought it was the most beautiful location they had played in. Will was on top form and the large crowd were very appreciative. They love good live music up here in the north east. Lots of guys of all ages near where we stood singing along and enjoying every minute. Got talking to a woman on the metro on the way home. It was her first time seeing Will and she couldn't believe how good he was. She described his singing as flawless and loved his banter. The guy from the Lighthouse family was very good too. All in all one of my favourite outdoor gigs.

Yea this was certainly a show for the memory banks! I'm late reporting in but it was an amazing setting. Ideal weather, the sound spot on, and a big crowd enjoying the evening, and it was lovely hearing Will commenting that he and the band thought it was the most beautiful place they'd played.
Great to see the north east hosting such a good festival too. |
