26 Anna Of The North - Crazy Life | 120,000 sales
2023 Chart Run • 06-06-06-04-04-07-08-09-09 | 9 wks

Am I crazy? Or did this solely chart off the back of I Do You? An amazing song of course, I'm just not sure if it was because of that or not. The album was not too shabby either.

25 Rita Ora - You & I | 124,000 sales
2023 Chart Run • 10-06-05-05-06-06-08 | 7 wks

This album actually spawned a couple of hit singles on my chart. Well i remember charting them at any rate but naming those songs? What a preposterous suggestion.

24 Lady Gaga - The Fame Monster | 128,000 Sales
2023 Chart Run • 08-03-04-03-05-08 | 6 wks

I can't even tell you why I charted this but it is Lady Gaga's best album by a country mile. With the likes of poker face, Just Dance and Dance In The Dark (Which is my favourite gaga song FYI) this album is sublime. A perfect extension of the original.

2023 Chart Run • 06-10-10-10-09-10-08-08-07-07-09-09-09-09 | 12 wks

Such a long run for an album that never produced a hit single on my chart. It almost did but not quite and why she never included Hypnotiz-ED on the album is beyond me. That's one of the best things she's ever put her name to.

I couldn't tell you why this did so well. What I can tell you is that I don't remember any of the singles. Kiss me? Is that Dermot Kennedy? Hmm.

21 Holly Humberstone - Paint My Bedroom Black | 156,000 sales
2023 Chart Run • 06-04-05-04-04-04 | 6 wks

This is going into 2024 still charting for me though saying that's it's not as amazing as I was expecting to to be. The songs got boring quite quickly though antichrist remains my firm favourite from the album. What a treat.

20 Taylor Swift -1989 (Taylor's Version) | 172,000 sales
2023 Chart Run • 07-02-01-01-01 | 5 wks

This has now spent an incredible 15 weeks at #1 on my album chart, 12 of which are towards the 2024 EOY. You can imagine where this will probably end up when all is said and done. Saying that, it's starting to now face some stiff competition so it may leave the #1 spot soon.

As for the album itself, 1989, the original version is one of my favourite albums of all time. The likes of Out Of The Woods & Blank Space are too tier tracks in their own right, even if Taylor wasn't attached. This was the first album I really liked by Taylor as well and I have been I 100% STAN mode since.

The rerelease is exquisite. It's improved on 1989 in so many ways though it also changed some of the songs for the worse. Style, I'm looking at you. This version of the album may go on to be my EOY 2024 #1 album but we'll see in a few months!

A last mention for the vault tracks. Oh my god. They are some of the best tracks Taylor has ever recorded. Say Don't Go in particular is amazing but they're all varying degrees of good. Well except slut. laugh.gif the lyrics are on point mind you, but the song itself leaves a lot to be desired.

19 Meghan Trainor - Takin' It Back | 184,000 Sales
2023 Chart Run • 07-06-08-04-06-08-xx-10-08-08-06-08-09-10-10 | 16 wks

Hmm I actually can't remember what was on this album and I guess that perfectly describes Meghan herself, Forgettable. Was it Made You Look? Mother? Both of those are in her best tracks for me but for the life of me I can't remember if they were on this album laugh.gif

18 Rina Sawayama - Hold The Girl | 192,000 sales
2023 Chart Run • 04-05-06-06-05-06-08-10-10-10-10-10-08-10-09-10 | 15 wks

What surprised me about this album was just how consistently good it was. With tracks like hold the girl, This Hell & Catch Me In The Air, how could it not be good. The video for Hold The Girl itself was a masterpiece. It was a whole movie unto itself and really set Rina apart from her contemporaries I would say.
I'm actually quite shocked I only charted this for 17 weeks total. Crazy.

17 Jessie Ware - That! Feels Good! | 220,000 sales
2023 Chart Run • 08-08-05-04-04-05-05-06-07-07-08-10 | 12 wks

Try as I might, I've only been on board with Jessie a little bit for the last couple of years. Her peak for me was Save A Kiss. And the parent album was just as sublime.
She's been unable to live upto that for me though I do appreciate her willingness to do what she wants and her creativity is on point.

16 Freya Ridings - Blood Orange | 248,000 sales
2023 Chart Run • 05-05-03-03-04-05-04-05-06-07-09-10 | 12 wks

Blood Orange as an album was alright but this charted more on the back of the singles for me. Weekends was an amazing song though I don't think it truly received the recognition it deserved.

15 Taylor Swift - Lover | 256,000 sales
2023 Chart Run • 10-08-05-02-02-02-03-08-08-06-06-08 | 12 wks

This is quite a good album to be honest. Not my favourite and I don't think it is anyone's favourite. This charted here on the back of Cruel Summer. Let's be honest, who saw Cruel summer becoming one of the biggest chart hits of her career? The song passed me by on the albums original release but the constant hearing it really helped it to grow on me.
Fab song, fab album.

14 P!nk - Trustfall | 264,000 sales
2023 Chart Run • 05-04-04-05-04-04-05-05-07-06-07-10 | 12 wks

Looking back now, this had an epic 8 week run bouncing between #4 & #5 which is quite the achievement. It really only charted off the back of the single that shared the parent albums name. Trustfall remains one of my favourite outfits pink songs even now. It's just so euphoric and I wouldn't mind an album full of synthy songs like that at all. As a whole, the album falls quite short of her best but there are a couple of gems on there.

13 Kylie Minogue - Tension | 320,000 sales
2023 Chart Run • 10-04-03-02-01-01-01-02-03-03-02 | 11 wks

Now this is still charting into 2024 and is doing quite well still so it should end up quite high on my 2024 EOY but regarding 2023, it was a banger. Padam Padam was a top notch Kylie single and it going viral on tiktok was an amazing thing to see happen. Then came Tension. It was quite decisive as a single but the video was great. On the album itself, Story sat there, proudly stating it should be a single. Unfortunately it didn't happen but I had hoped it would. This is easily one of Julie's best efforts to date though.

12 Caroline Polachek - Desire, I Want To Turn To You | 320,000 sales
2023 Chart Run • 04-04-06-06-06-06-06-07-09-09-09-08-06-06-07-05-07-09-09 | 18 wks

At 18 weeks this was one of the longest runners on my album chart last year. An amazing album to be sure and it has infact just re-entered with the help of the rerelease. On top of that, it's already outpeaked it's 2023 chart position so that is an amazing accomplishment. There are countless good songs on here but the tacked on song Dang actually is my favourite to come from this album. The screaming at the geese oh my god.

11 Carly Rae Jepsen - The Loveliest Time | 334,000 sales
2023 Chart Run • 03-03-03-03-04-04-03-05-05-05-06-08-09-10-10 | 15 wks

This is the first of two Carly albums to make my chart this year and unfortunately the preceeding album is the one that made the top 10. There was nothing on The Loveliest Time that really stood out and wowed me which is a shame because Carly has generally been amazing when it comes to melodies and hooks. Not a bad album by any means, just very standard compared to her previous material.
