Jeez - I could give you well over a hundred and still want to nominate more. Luckily some of my faves have been added already (although not very many)
Had to also restrict myself to one record per artist to give you these...in some cases it's not my favourite by a band, but one that some of you might know better...otherwise it'll only be me who votes for it. 808 State - Cubik Aphex Twin - Analogue Bubblebath I Arab Strap - The First Big Weekend Ash - Kung Fu The Beta Band - Dry the Rain The Boo Radleys - Lazarus Carter USM - Sheriff Fatman (originally released in late 1989 but a hit in 1991) The Charlatans - Weirdo England New Order - World in Motion The Farm - Groovy Train Flowered Up - Weekender Gary Clail On-U Sound System - Human Nature Inspiral Carpets - This is How it Feels Jesus Jones - Real Real Real The KLF - What Time is Love? My Bloody Valentine - Soon Ned's Atomic Dustbin - Kill Your Television Northside - Shall We Take a Trip? Paris Angels - Perfume Pixies - Velouria Ride - Leave Them All Behind Senseless Things - Homophobic Asshole Spacemen 3 - Big City Spiritualized - Come Together Stereolab - French Disko Sultans of Ping FC - Where's Me Jumper? Super Furry Animals - God! Show Me Magic Teenage Fanclub - Star Sign The Wedding Present - Brassneck The Wonder Stuff - The Size of a Cow |

Thanks for the noms guys. I've changed the format from a rate to a chart. Changes explained in the rules.

I will get my nominations in at some point, although from the looks of it a lot of the songs that I would have nominated have already made the cut.
Wasn't Mr E's Beautiful Blues by Eels released in 2000, rather than the 90s? |

Well, it turns out there were a lot of songs that I loved from the 90s that hadn't been nominated yet, and it was hard to whittle them down to 30, so I've limited myself to 1 per artist, and here's what I've come up with -
Mighty Mighty Bosstones The Impression That I Get Reel Big Fish Sell Out Air Kelly Watch The Stars Apollo 440 Stop The Rock Beastie Boys Sabotage Catatonia Road Rage Daisy Chainsaw Love Your Money Divine Comedy National Express Eels Last Stop: This Town Elastica Stutter Electrasy Morning Afterglow Faith No More Midlife Crisis Garbage Stupid Girl Gay Dad Joy! Geneva Tranquilizer Kula Shaker - Tattva Lightning Seeds Marvellous Menswear DayDreamer My Life Story 12 Reasons Why I Love Her Neutral Milk Hotel Holland, 1945 The Orb Toxygene Primal Scream Movin On Up Rocket From The Crypt On A Rope Sleeper Inbetweener Stone Roses Waterfall Stroke 9 Washin and Wonderin Suede Filmstar Sugar If I Cant Change Your Mind Teenage Fanclub Sparkys Dream Third Eye Blind Semi-Charmed Life |

Most of my own picks have already been nominated, though I've noticed these omissions:
Oasis - Don't Look Back in Anger Oasis - Some Might Say Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Under the Bridge Green Day - Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) U2 - One Goo Goo Dolls - Iris (if this counts) Chumbawumba - Tubthumping (likewise) Foo Fighters - Monkey Wrench Sorry, super mainstream If I think of more, I'll add later. |

Hmmm, I'd say that when there's so many entries a rate will be more representative as far too many songs will get lost if you're only picking 50 out of 300+, it's just whether people will bother. Though I'd say rating each song out of 10 isn't any more difficult than whittling the massive list down to 50 and then ranking them! If you're using Excel it'd only take about 2 minutes to copy and paste a long rate into it, so no more work to calculate the scores. Just need to make sure people are consistent and everyone's rates are like this:
1 Oasis - Don't Look Back in Anger 2 Oasis - Some Might Say 3 Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Under the Bridge 4 Green Day - Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) 5 U2 - One 6 Goo Goo Dolls - Iris (if this counts) 7 Chumbawumba - Tubthumping (likewise) 8 Foo Fighters - Monkey Wrench This post has been edited by RabbitFurCoat: 26th July 2016, 05:49 AM |

Great to see Chapterhouse, Daisy Chainsaw and Sugar nominated - I had to eliminate them from my long list.

Perhaps 50 isn't enough to put into a chart - would 100 be better? A second reason I think a chart is better is because of the average type song that no one really dislikes doing far better because it gets a huge amount of 5s and 6s where as much fewer would place it in the Top 100 from the 90s. |

Goo Goo Dolls - Iris (if this counts) That doesn't count and I would be pushed to consider U2's One to be alternative but I will let it pass as we let The Fly in. However, The Fly is certainly alternative because of it's structure and over all production. |
