With Chelsea having, in all likelihood, sealed first place, the Sky hype machine has turned its attention to who will finish second?

There are three contenders, and until a few games ago, Manchester City were favourites. However, they have been outmanoeuvred by Arsenal and Manchester United recently. Arsenal are the form team in the league right now, whereas United have regained their big-game expertise and ended all doubt that'd they'd not reach the Champions League.

Man United have got to play both Arsenal and Man City, which takes place today.

Who do people think will get there, and who will be forced into the Champions League qualifiers? Of course, Liverpool and Southampton COULD get fourth, but in all seriousness it looks prettybsewn up.

I would fine it hard to argue with that.

I think Liverpool need to win 6 out the remaining 7 games to have any chance, and will need a few favours along the way. I don't see that happening. However I have definitely seen stranger things happen along the years.

City will probably finish 2nd, they have the easiest run-in, United may win the derby but think we'll drop points against Chelsea, Everton & Arsenal.

Arsenal will finish 4th as usual.

Still think it's very open, and I expect the likes of Hull/QPR will pick up points against some of the big teams, but no way do I think Arsenal won't finish in the Top 3.

Still think City will get a result today and have Arsenal really lost their reputation for bottling it!? Plus, they may focus on the FA Cup.

Yeah they're the main reasons they'll all have their eye on the FA Cup final (assuming they beat Reading) & with top 4 wrapped up will probably take their foot off the gas.

The media will be claiming that United are back now. Did seem a step-back to the Fergie years today I must admit.

Anybody fancy them to beat Chelsea next week!?

I definitely could see Man Utd drawing against Chelsea. Although I don't think they'll get the win.

Arsenal could take their foot off the gas a bit with the FA Cup Final. Potentially Swansea could get a result against them. I think it could be draws with Man United and Chelsea.

Don't think Wenger will want to be playing a August champions league playoff game like they always have to. They'll want 2nd!

They look like a team that's played less games. They have more energy and fight. I think Chelsea will be the first team to match Fellaini physically, so be interesting to see how that pans out. Pains me to say they're in good form again, although I question how long it will last.

I expect they'll challenge for the title next year mind. Hopefully Van Gaal only has another year before Sir Giggseh takes charge laugh.gif biggrin.gif

Disagree with this idea that Arsenal will take the foot off the gas, with one eye on the FA Cup. No chance, they'll want 2nd and they're in too good form at the moment.

Yeh they can have a good run in April when they prob can't win a title. But next season will be interesting to see Chelsea vs United!

You mean, like Liverpool last season? Not that they benefitted from it in the end. Man U are, arguably, seeing the benefits of a relatively light fixture list. Next season, they look likely to go back to having a more congested schedule. We'll see whether last season was just a blip.

The difference is that Liverpool would have been physically incapable of playing the way they did last season if they'd been in Europe. That and the fact they lost their best player over the summer meant Rodgers basically had to start again last year, which Van Gaal won't need to.

Why would Arsenal take their foot off the gas anyway with the FA Cup? They wouldn't. They'll get 2nd place in my opinion for sure.

Now I think it will be:

Second: Arsenal
Third: Manchester City
Fourth: Manchester United

What do other people think now will the order of second to fourth be?
