YOU GUYS I have a new obsession! Pretty Little Liars is basically the story of four friends in the small town of Rosewood whose friend (also the leadier of their little group) goes missing mysteriously one night. She doesn't turn up and one of the group moves to Europe. The others stop being friends and move on with their lives. A year later Aria comes back from Europe and she along with the other girls starts to receive threatening texts from 'A' which contain things which only Alison, the missing girl, knew about. They all assume that the texts must be from Alison but later her body turns up buried near where she lived and her funeral is held but the texts don't stop coming. The show I'd compare it with in a big way is The Vampire Diaries - a similar sort of vibe, lots of miserable grey lighting and creepy music, only with a supernatural 'is she really dead?' storyline rather than any vamps - but the critics are calling it a mini Desperate Housewives (I guess due to the ongoing mystery element of it) and it has a slight feel of Gossip Girl or Eastwick about it too. The soundtrack is one of the best things about it actually, they're very keen on their acousticy female singer-songwriters. It's on ABC and four episodes have aired so far with another 18 to go since they ordered more due to decent ratings. I recommend it heartily to any fans of the shows I've mentioned. It's very light and frothy and ridiculous for something which revolves around an apparently-dead girl but it's genuinely fun and you get drawn into it very easily. All four of the central girls are really likeable. The only one who's kind of well known is Lucy Hale as Aria, who was in The OC, Bionic Woman and Privileged but the others are all decent actors too. Basically WATCH IT EVERYBODY so I don't have to have conversations with myself about how ace it is. |

The show did break a record for series premiere ratings on ABC Family, across all major viewing demographics of women and young people. |

It's got Holly Marie Combs in it, so if it comes to the UK, I'll be watching it.

Its surprisingly good Holly Marie Combs from Charmed, Bryce Johnson from Popular and Amanda Schull from One Tree Hill are the main reasons why I started watching. Particularly HMC. Although seeing her playing mother to a 16 year old is WRONG.

But not unrealistic give that she is old enough to be the mother of a 16yr old.
I'll check this out purely for her, Holly is my favourite Charmed actress. |

I want to marry the show haha, I'm up to episode six, and it seriously pisses all over One Tree Hill, The OC, Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries etc at that point.

Me too
The 8th season was far from brilliant, imo if the network hadn't sabotaged the show so they could cull it the 8th season could have been AMAZING. They need to do a movie tbh |

They need to do a movie tbh Comic book is in the works which is being called as the '9th season'. I think all the budget cuts done the show a bit of damage. |

I do love Charmed They really did and as much as i did like the season 8 story lines, the Leo being whisked away by the angel of destiny and them having to fight the ultimate battle was poorly done imo, and i really hated Christy. |
