Welcome to the World Cup of Sportspeople! With the Women's Football World Cup This is the Voting stage for South America. We received 67 different nominations in all - taking away our auto-qualifier, Lionel Messi, this gives us two groups of 33 players. Here's how this stage is going to work. - You can vote for up to 20 sportspeople, but you must vote for at least 10. - You must rank your votes in order of preference, either by numbering or by the standard Buzzjack +20, +19 ... +1 (Or down to however many you vote for) - You must vote for sportspeople from at least three different sports - You must vote for at least one male and one female sportsperson. - Each sportsperson has been given a short description of their major achievements to make it easier for you to make up your mind. - The seven sportspeople with the most votes in each group will advance to the Final, and the rest of the Top 10 will advance through to the Intercontinental Playoffs. RESULTS Finalists: Carlos Alberto Cafu Emerson Fittipaldi Jairzinho Marta Ronaldinho Aryton Senna Advance to Playoffs: Sergio Aguero Roberto Carlos Guillermo Vilas Eliminated: (7th: 63pts) (10th: 51pts) 47 Rubens Barrichello 40 Gustavo Kuerten 39 Edinson Cavani 37 Diego Forlan 37 Luis Suarez 27 Alexis Sanchez 27 Egan Bernal 27 Mariana Pajon 26 Carlos Tevez 25 Carlos Valderrama 13 Lucio 12 Nicolas Massu 11 Angel di Maria 10 Maurren Maggi 10 Oscar Figueroa 9 Radamel Falcao 9 Cesar Cielo 8 Yuilmar Rojas 8 Thiago Braz da Silva 5 Fabiana Murer 5 Juan Curuchet 2 Nolberto Solano At first glance I thought this was quite a spread-out set of results, but on second look all the qualifiers are Brazilian. Something I should mayybe tweak if we do this again. Five footballers and two motor racers as well. |
