Bafta nominations are tomorrow hype *.* 7:30am on Facebook live stream *.* after Sunday's tragedy and a complete mess of awards season so far, what's gonna show up here?!

Joanna Lumley is hosting again and the rising star noms are out:
Letitia Wright (obvs sweeping this)
Lakeith Stanfield
Barry Keoghan (not him getting snubbed last year but somehow getting in this time)
Jessie Buckley
Cynthia Erivo (come thru next years best actress Oscar winner)

At least we'll finally have a woman winning that award for the first time in six years probs *.*

What are your hopes for this year's awards? What do you think will happen? Hype away and nominations will be posted in this thread when they come!

Also predict away <3

I have a feeling we're gonna get a very random director nom. Maybe Lynne Ramsay for you were never really here?

A star is born will hopefully slay tomorrow. I have a feeling film that shan't be mentioned is gonna really overperform as well sad.gif

Predictions coming later tonight <3

Pic is fave/ASIB/Roma/black klansman/green book

Sam Elliott snubbed again (the only major nom ASIB missed tho) 😭 No Regina king again 😮 Margot Robbie popping up again!!! The only other non usual noms were Steve Coogan in actor and Cold War in director/screenplay! Oh and Viola got in lead *.*

The Favourite will (rightfully) clean up at the BAFTAs but I hope A Star is Born can at least grab a couple. Even if it's Bradley, that'd be good. Gaga will not be taking Best Actress over Olivia Colman.

Much like Bradley won't be winning over Freddie Mercury, unfortunately.

That's quite possibly true but I don't think it's a foregone conclusion either. There has been a bit of online backlash about BR winning at the Globes (not necessarily Rami I might add, but the film in general) so I'm curious about whether or not the other awards voters want to move away from that. BR has not been seen as a very deserving winner, even though Rami was very good in it.

My personal opinion is that Bradley acted circles around Rami and deserves the win more. Yes, Rami portrayed a larger than life character very well, but he also had a lot to work with, to base that performance on. Bradley's performance was tortured, emotional and raw. The fact that he also performed the songs live while Rami only mimes to Freddie also puts Bradley ahead for me.

I actually wasn't expecting Roma to beat The Favourite at Best Picture, given that's a British film! Surely looking very good at Best Picture for the Oscars, but then again, they have been known to throw a curveball before with regards to that thinking.gif Great for Letitia Wright as well, every performance of hers I've seen has been great.

I forgot to watch this oops, but doesn't look like there was any massive surprises (Winners here)
